However, the casing 1A of the air conditioner
not only makes its thickness as thin as possible;
The width dimension in the front and back direction is also shortened to achieve a smaller and thinner overall design.
When installing the electrical box 7A containing the electromagnetic switch 8A along the back of the casing 1A,
The width of the box 7A in the front and back direction is narrow, so that the box 7A can be installed in a limited space behind the fan 3A.

By the way, conventionally, when an electromagnetic switch 8A having a terminal 9A at one end in the longitudinal direction is installed inside the electrical equipment box 7A, the electromagnetic switch 8A is installed so that the terminal 9A is connected to the box 7A due to the necessity of wiring work. The electromagnetic switch 8A is fixed so as to face the opening/closing side (surface A where the opening/closing lid is attached), and as a result, the width dimension of the electrical box 7A is limited by the longitudinal length of the electromagnetic switch 8A. There was a problem where L could not be made smaller.

For this reason, when the electromagnetic switch 8A is installed horizontally, the wiring work of connecting (or disconnecting) each cord to the terminal 9A of the electromagnetic switch 8A is performed when the electromagnetic switch 8A is installed next to the electrical equipment box 7A. As a result, it becomes necessary for the worker to hold the electromagnetic switch 8A in place while fixing it in place, which causes many difficulties when carried out by a single worker. That's what happens.

(Means for Solving the Problems) Accordingly, the present invention incorporates a heat exchanger 2, a fan 3, and an electric motor 4 inside a casing 1 as shown in FIGS. An electrical equipment box 7 whose back side can be opened and whose width in the longitudinal direction is narrow is installed on the back side, and the electrical equipment box 7 has a longitudinal length that is equal to the width dimension of the box 7. In a ceiling-suspended air conditioner in which a vertically elongated electromagnetic switch 8 is installed which is longer and has a plurality of terminals 8a on one end surface in the longitudinal direction, the ceiling wall 7a of the electrical equipment box 7
an engaging portion 70 having a pair of cuts a extending in the length direction of the electrical equipment box 7 and a recessed portion 71 recessed into the top wall 7a;
A holding piece receiving hole 7c is formed in the upper part of the front wall 7b of the electrical equipment box 7, and a mounting piece 7e having a screw hole 7f in the lower part is formed.
a fixing piece 81 that fixes the other end surface in the length direction of the electromagnetic switch 8, and this fixing piece 81
The first receiving piece 85 bends from one side in the orthogonal direction.
and a second receiving piece 86 extending in a bent shape from the lower side of the first receiving piece 85. At the upper end of the fixing piece 81 on this mounting plate 9, the engaging portion is formed. An insertion piece 80 that can be inserted into the cut a of 70, and a holding piece 83 that engages with the receiving hole 7c at the upper end of the first receiving piece 85,
A connecting piece 90 having a screw hole 91 that overlaps with the mounting piece 7e is provided on each end side of the second receiving piece 86, and one end surface of the electromagnetic switch 8 provided with a plurality of terminals 8a is connected to the second receiving piece 86. This makes it possible to hold the casing 1 so that it protrudes outward from the back surface of the casing 1.

(Function) With the above configuration, when connecting wiring such as a power cord, an operation cord, or a communication cord to the terminal 8a located on one end surface in the longitudinal direction of the electromagnetic switch 8, the insertion piece 80 Since it is located perpendicular to the holding piece 83 and the coupling piece 90, the insertion piece 8 of the electromagnetic switch 8 can be attached to the engaging portion 70 provided on the top wall 7a of the electrical equipment box 7.
0, one end surface in the longitudinal direction of the electromagnetic switch 8 is rotated horizontally by 90 degrees, and the electromagnetic switch 8 is stably attached to the electrical equipment box 7 in a state where it protrudes outward from the open side surface of the electrical equipment box 7. It can be easily temporarily supported, and wiring can be connected to the terminal 8a of the electromagnetic switch 8 in this temporarily supported state.
Therefore, when the wiring is connected to the terminal 8a by tightening a terminal screw, etc., the torque acting on the screw is borne by the electrical equipment box 7 via the engaging portion 70, so that the wiring The connection to the terminal 8a of the electromagnetic switch 8 can be easily and reliably made by one person.

(Effect of the invention) As described above, the present invention
The electromagnetic switch 8, which has a plurality of terminals 8a at one end in the longitudinal direction, is placed horizontally along the longitudinal direction of the box 7, and the terminal connection work position of the electromagnetic switch 8 with respect to the box 7 is set to the electromagnetic switch 8. Rotate the terminal surface of switch 8 by 90 degrees horizontally,
The electromagnetic switch 8 can be placed in a position exposed to the open outer surface of the box 7, and the electromagnetic switch 8 can be easily and stably temporarily supported on the box 7 in the working position. Work such as connecting the electric cord to the terminal 8a of the electromagnetic switch 8 can be performed very easily.Furthermore, when the electromagnetic switch 8 is stored in the electrical equipment box 7, the electromagnetic switch 8 can be The attached holding piece 83 of the mounting plate 9 is supported by the receiving hole 7c, and the second holding piece 83 of the mounting plate 9 is supported by the receiving hole 7c.
Since the receiving piece 86 can be supported by the mounting piece 7e, the mounting plate 9 can be easily attached to the mounting plate 9 without having to hold it by hand.
and the box 7 can be screwed together. Therefore, the electromagnetic switch 8 is connected to the box 7.
It can be easily installed.
