Traditionally, spirit printing involves transferring paper or film coated with ink containing dye to master paper using a pressure-sensitive method such as carbon copying or a thermal copying method using an infrared light source to create a mirror image, which is then used as a spirit printing plate. The image is then run on a printer specially designed for spirit printing, and an appropriate amount of alcoholic solvent is applied to dissolve the dye in the mirror image, and the image is transferred to paper or the like for printing.

When making spirit printing plates using this method, type and handwriting can be made using traditional methods, but photographs, books, etc.
When a printed matter is used as a manuscript, it is necessary to use other printing methods, such as photoengraving, to make the plate and print it using an offset printing machine.

The present invention may be applied, for example, to
A master for spirit printing is created by creating a mirror image on the transfer plate of a PPC electrophotographic copying machine using a toner carrying an amount of alcohol-soluble spirit dye that can be used for spirit printing, and then taking out the transfer plate and fixing it with heat. Spirit printing, which is popular as a simple method of printing, is combined with electrophotographic copying technology to improve the quality to the level of electrophotography.

Furthermore, according to the present invention, compared to, for example, an offset printing machine that uses a printing machine that uses electrophotography, it is possible to print using a popular and simple printing method, so even if an amateur performs the printing, there are fewer technical failures. .

Next, the toner carrying a spirit dye used in the present invention is a toner made of carbon, dye, resin, etc., which is used in ordinary electrophotographic development, and has a spirit printing ink adhered to the surface of the toner, or a toner made of carbon, dye, resin, etc. Spirit printing ink is added to dye and resin, heated to melt and knead, and after cooling, the mixture is ground into fine powder.
Resins used for toners include polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polymethacrylate, diallyl phthalate, epoxy resin, fluorine resin, rosin, copal, phenolic resin, alkyd resin, coumaron resin, indene resin, or these resins. Copolymers can be used.

Furthermore, the content of the alcohol-soluble spirit dye supported on the toner used in the present invention is as follows:
In order to obtain a sufficient amount of alcohol eluted during spirit printing, the blending amount is high enough to enable spirit printing, and is characterized by being larger than the blending amount of dyes blended in ordinary toners.

Example 1 A mixture of 100 parts by weight of bisphenol A type general-purpose epoxy resin (Epicoat 1004 manufactured by Shell Oil Co., Ltd.), 5 parts by weight of carbon black, and 3 parts by weight of nigrosine dye was melt-kneaded at 100°C in a roll mill. After cooling, the mixture was coarsely pulverized with a hammer mill, further finely pulverized with a vibrating mill, and then classified to a size of 5 to 20 μm.
We created fine particles with a particle size distribution of .

In this case, the spirit dye, that is, the crystal violet dye contained in the spirit printing ink on the toner surface is blended in a higher amount than the dye in a normal toner, so it is necessary to use an ink that shows sufficient alcohol elution during spirit printing as described below. It was hot.
