Methods for manufacturing flat cables include coating, bulk extrusion, and hot rolling. Among these methods, the paint method involves pouring paint such as vinyl chloride or polyurethane into multiple insulated wires arranged in parallel, and then heating and drying it to bond the insulators of the insulated wires. The method involves continuously extruding multiple conductors arranged in parallel at a predetermined interval while simultaneously covering them with an insulator. The method using hot rolls involves placing heating wires between the parallel insulated wires. , the side surfaces of the insulators of adjacent insulated wires are heat-sealed to bond and integrate the insulators.

However, since both of these methods simultaneously fuse and manufacture multiple insulated wires in parallel, the tear resistance between each insulated wire lacks stability, and when the thickness of the insulator is small, each insulated wire is The drawback was that the conductor or shield was exposed when the wire was torn. Furthermore, in the case of the method using paint, since the above-mentioned paint such as vinyl chloride or polyurethane is applied onto the insulated wire, there is a drawback that the coated area becomes discolored and the appearance deteriorates significantly.

That is, in the present invention, two insulated wires at the center of parallel insulated wires are fused together, and then the fused insulated wires are fused one by one toward both sides. The insulated wire to be bonded is guided by a grooved roll held by a spring so that its width direction follows the width dimension of the insulated wire to be fused.

The present invention will be explained below based on the illustrated embodiments. An embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 1-3. In this embodiment, two insulated wires 1a at the center of the parallel insulated wires are fused together, and then the fused insulated wires 1a are fused one by one on both sides of the fused insulated wires 1a. Sometimes the insulated wires 1a, 1b, 1c to be fused are held by grooved rolls 3a, 3 held by springs 2 so that the width direction thereof follows the width dimension of the insulated wires 1a, 1b, 1c to be fused.
I made it possible for my husband to guide me in b and 3c. By doing this, the insulated wires 1a, 1b, 1c are fused in order from the center of the plurality of parallel insulated wires.
As a result, a method for manufacturing a flat cable with good tearability and good appearance can be obtained.

That is, among the plurality of parallel insulated wires sent out from the insulated wire sending device 4, the two central insulated wires 1a are guided to the grooved roll 3a via the guide roll 5, and the grooved roll 3a is In this step, heated fluid is sprayed from the fluid spray nozzle 6 for fusion. Next, each insulated wire 1b to be fused was guided onto the grooved rolls 3b on both sides of the fused insulated wire 1a via guide rolls 5, and the husband's insulated wire 1b that had been guided was fused. The insulated wire 1a is fused to both sides by a fluid spray nozzle 6. Furthermore, the wires 1 are placed on the grooved rolls 3c on both sides of the fused insulated wires 1a and 1b via guide rolls 5, respectively.
The insulated wires 1c to be fused are guided and fused one by one. A flat cable is manufactured by repeating such operations in order and fusing a plurality of parallel insulated wires. During fusing with the fluid spray nozzle 6, the width dimension of the insulated wires 1a, 1 to be welded is
Since the insulated wires 1a, 1b, 3c to be fused are guided to grooved rolls 3a, 3b, 3c held by a spring 2 that follows the width dimensions of wires 1a, 1c,
It is now possible to fuse the wire to a thickness suitable for the width dimension of 1c, which stabilizes the tearability and prevents the conductor or shield from being exposed when the insulated wire is torn. can. Furthermore, since the insulator of the insulated wire is locally heated and fused using the heated fluid, there is no discoloration of the insulator and the appearance can be finished neatly.

As described above, in the present invention, heat fusion is performed one by one from the center outwards in a way that is suited to the width dimension of the insulated wires, so that fusion can be performed that is adapted to the width dimension. , tearability, and appearance are improved.
A method for manufacturing a flat cable with good tearability and good appearance can be obtained.
