If the number of terminals to be connected is large in this way, the contact force between the terminals becomes strong, and there is a limit to the number of terminals. Therefore, in order to avoid this, so-called "zero force" is used, which is configured so that there is no friction between the contacts and pins of the connector when they are mated or disengaged.

However, the zero-force connector requires many two- or three-stroke actions to connect and disconnect, such as operating a lever, rotating a cam, and moving a slider. As described above, when the fitting operation of the connector becomes complicated, it takes time to attach and detach the connector, and there are many disadvantages such as making it difficult to fit the connector accurately.

As shown in FIG.
A pair of laterally symmetrical drive plate members 30 are attached to the drive plate members 30 . Each drive plate member 30 is made of an insulator like the socket, and is mounted on the front surface of the socket 10 so that both drive plate members 30 can slightly slide relative to each other. That is, for this purpose, each drive plate member 30 has both upper and lower ends facing the front surface of the socket 10 protruding inward, and is fitted into the narrow groove 28 of the socket 10, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5. It is formed into a protrusion 32 that is slidably fitted. To attach each drive plate member 30 to the socket 10, the protrusion 32 may be slightly opened outward and fit into the slot 28 of the socket 10.

Drive plate member 30 has an aperture 34 formed therein at a location that is aligned with cavity 16 of socket 10. The side edges 36 of the front surface 12 of the socket 10 are aligned so that the cavity 16 of the socket 10 and the opening 34 of the drive plate member 30 are aligned with each other when the pair of drive plate members 30 are mounted in the socket 10. An elastic member 40, such as a leaf spring, is disposed between the side end faces 38 of the drive plate member 30 and the opposite side end faces 38 of the drive plate member 30, and presses the pair of mounted drive plate members 30 in a direction toward each other. There is. Further, a stopper 44 is provided at the center of the front surface 12 of the socket 10 to prevent the adjacent end surfaces 42 of both drive plate members 30 from coming into contact with each other.
is formed to protrude. That is, when the pair of drive plate members 30 are attached to the front surface 12 of the socket 10, the drive plate members 30 are held against the stopper 4 by the elastic member 40.
4, the cavity 16 of the socket 10 and the opening 34 of the drive plate member 30 are aligned.

The opening 34 of the drive plate member 30 is provided with a pin, which will be described later.
It penetrates from the front surface 46 of the drive plate member 30 to the rear surface 48 so that when the pin 66 of the connector 60 is inserted, it penetrates and protrudes. On the rear surface 48 of the drive plate member, a partition defining adjacent openings 34 for the pins 66 is provided with a recess for receiving the protruding end of the long contact piece 26 protruding outwardly from the contact 18 attached to the socket 10. 50 are formed. Since the height of the recess 50 is greater than the height of the opening 34, the recess 50 is larger than the height of the adjacent opening 34.
A side wall 51 having a step difference above and below is formed, and the side edge of the long contact piece 26 engages with this side wall 51.

A lever 52 is attached to one end of the drive plate member 30 so as to extend rearward. Lever 52
can be constructed integrally with the drive plate member 30, or may be constructed separately. This lever 52 extends rearwardly along the side 54 of the socket 10 when the drive plate member 30 is installed in the socket 10. The side surface 54 of the socket 10 is provided with an outwardly projecting protrusion 56 near the front surface 12 of the socket 10, and when the drive plate member 30 is attached to the socket 10 as described above, the protrusion 5
6 contacts the inner surface of the lever 52 and acts to project the free end side of the lever 52 outward. An engaging portion 58 protruding outward from the surface of the lever 52 is provided at a position close to the free end side of the lever 52.

As a result, the long contact piece 26 of the contact 18 is released from the side wall 52, the contact 18 is restored by its own elasticity, and the curved portions of both the contact pieces 24 and 26 approach each other, and the contact piece 26 is inserted between them. The pin 66 is securely contacted.

The engaging portion 58 of the lever 52 of the drive plate member 30 fits into the opening 70 of the side wall 68 of the pin connector 60, which means that the engagement portion 58 of the lever 52 of the drive plate member 30 fits into the opening 70 of the side wall 68 of the pin connector 60. Acts as a lock. Therefore, the pin connector 60 fitted in this manner reliably maintains its fitted state, and there is no risk of it coming off even if vibration or other external force is applied.

As can be fully understood from the above description, the connector of this invention allows the pin connector 60 to be fitted into the assembly of the socket 10 and the drive plate member 30 with great ease. It is a simple operation of fitting the rear opening 62 of 60 into the assembly. Further, when the contact 18 and the pin 66 are attached and detached, no resistance or friction is caused between the two. Further, after the pin connector 60 is connected to the assembly of the socket 10 and the drive plate member 30, there is no danger that the two may fall off due to vibration or other external force unless a particular removal operation is performed.
