In the first conventional example shown in FIG. 5, ``A'' is a signature discharged from a rotary press and conveyed by a belt conveyor, and is dropped into a first space ``C''. The first space C is surrounded on four sides by diaphragms 2 and 2' provided on the left and right sides with respect to the intrusion direction of the notebook A, and also by a diaphragm E and a fixed plate H, The three diaphragms are interlocked, and each has a large number of air holes to blow out air while accumulating the notebooks.
Then, when one small bundle is accumulated, the temporary receiving plate is moved to the right by a latch and a pinion wheel, and the small bundle is dropped a certain distance downward.

The present invention eliminates the unevenness of the signatures, creases, scratches, etc. caused by natural falling and the rubbing of the printing surface that are present in the prior art, and the printed signatures are stacked with the front, back, left, and right aligned. The purpose was to produce small bundles, and we thoroughly investigated the sorting device and the delivery area to ensure that there were no unreasonable issues. In particular, for delivery, we installed an upper signature holder and a lower signature holder. A space is provided above the upper document receiver in the document receiving operation by a sorting device so that the documents accumulated to a certain thickness can be smoothly discharged to the document receiver. The upper document receiver, which is not fork-shaped but can be moved up and down by passing through the mutual space, and also requires horizontal movement for evacuation, can be moved up and down into the upper conveyor. The left and right signature guides are installed so that they do not obstruct the movement of the two-way signature holder, and one of the two directions is swung to ensure accurate alignment. It is also contemplated that it is possible to use both the so-called drop-in and push-in stacking methods, in which the received signatures are dropped in small bundles and stacked by the lower signature receiver.

Then, when the lower signature receiver 12 is lowered to the position 12b and its upper surface 12' is slightly lower than the upper surface 68' of the belt of the conveyor 68, the small bundle of signatures is transferred to the conveyor 68 without any hindrance. At the same time as this transfer is completed, the conveyor 68 is driven to transfer it to the right, and when the rear end of the small bundle of signatures passes the tip of the lower signature receiver 12, the lower signature receiver 12 is quickly raised and returned to the old position. However, in the embodiment, when the lower document receiver 12 is lowered to the position 12b, it is subsequently retracted to the position 12c, and then
After raising it to the position 2d, it is moved forward and returned to the old position. In this way, the lowered small bundle of signatures can be used in another process at that position.

Further, numeral 69 shown in FIG. 3 is a proximity switch fixed to the slide block 23, which is provided so as to face the inner surface of the slide block 22 with a slight gap, and is connected to the upper document holder described above. 1
1 is lowered while keeping the level of the top surface of the signature sent in almost constant, and when it is finally delivered to the lower signature receiver 12, that is, the upper surface 11' of the upper signature receiver 11 is lowered to the upper surface 12' of the lower signature receiver 12. This signal is used to move the upper document receiver 11 from the position 11b to 11c, 11d, 1
While rapidly moving vertically and horizontally to the position 1a, the lower document receiver 12 starts to descend while keeping the level of the upper surface of the received document substantially constant.

The signatures sent out between the lower conveyor 2' and the upper conveyor 3 are accumulated when their rear ends reach the belt surface 2'' at the signature exit. When the 12 descends, a drop-in stacking method is used in which a small gap is maintained between the top surface of the documents being stacked and the bottom surface 3' of the extended belt of the upper conveyor 3. This is called "push stacking", which refers to the case where the signature is pushed by the lower surface 3' of the belt without the above-mentioned gap, and is fed while applying an appropriate pressure to press the folds and make the thickness of the signature uniform. It is called a method.

Therefore, the difference in thickness of the accumulated notebooks is smaller when using the push-in method than when using the drop-in method.
Although it requires less manpower to complete the bookbinding process after the collection, it is inevitable that some of the notebooks are thin and bend easily.

As explained above, in the apparatus of the present invention, depending on the timing set in the timer, the space 10 formed between the lower surface 3' of the upper conveyor 3 and the small bundle transfer conveyor 68 is controlled. The gap between the lower surface 3' of the upper conveyor 3 and the upper surface 11' of the upper document receiver 11 is created by the vertical movement of a slide block 22 fixed to an air cylinder 26 that can be stopped midway in the vertical direction. The upper conveyor 3 is moved close to the lower surface 3' to narrow the gap width, and the vertical movement of the slide blocks 22 and 23 widens the gap width to the lower surface 3' of the upper conveyor 3. A frame member 51 fixed to the lower surface of the slide block 37
A fork-shaped upper document receiver 11 is fixed to the slide block 37 so that it can move freely in the horizontal direction. The predetermined gap can be adjusted from 10 to 25 mm.

Further, the upper signature receiver 11 and the lower signature receiver 12 are fixed to a slide block 23 that is movable in the vertical direction by an air cylinder 52 that can stop the small bundle transferred from the upper signature receiver 11 in the middle. A fork-shaped lower signature receiver 12 is fixed to a frame member 66 fixed to a slide block 60 which is loosely fitted onto the horizontal shaft 57, and is movable in the horizontal direction integrally with the slide block 60. It is possible to use both the drop-in accumulation method and the push-in accumulation method.

First of all, the standard is the case of a drop-in accumulation method in which there is a sufficient gap equal to or more than the thickness of the signatures dammed in the previous stage between the upper belts 3, 3' and the upper signature receiver 11 surface. To explain this as follows, in Fig. 1, when the tip of the ejected document from the rotary press blocks light from the phototubes 8 and 9, this signal is sent to the counter of the rotary press and the control box of this device (both not shown).

The signatures continue to be advanced, but the counter (not shown) of the rotary press starts counting the signatures for one small bundle set in advance based on this signal, and the control box (not shown) starts counting the signatures for one small bundle set in advance. A preset timer starts operating based on the signal. In response to the signal from this timer, the upper document receiver 11, which was waiting at the standby position 11a, moves to the document receiving start position shown by the solid line so that there is a gap larger than the total thickness of the collected document collection. Air cylinder 2
It is rapidly lowered by the operation of step 6, and after it stops, the distance it descends each time it starts is controlled by the throttle of the solenoid valve at the start interval of the timer set according to the thickness of the folded envelope. The upper surface of the notebook is then lowered while keeping the level of the top surface almost constant.

In addition, in the case of the push-in method, the upper signature holder 11
The starting position of the signatures is slightly higher than the position described above, and the descending speed of the upper and lower double signature receivers is also adjusted so that the upper surface of the signatures that are being accumulated and the extension of the upper conveyor 3 are adjusted as described above. A timer is set in advance and activated so that the pressure between the lower surface 3' of the belt and the lower surface 3' of the belt lowered is kept almost constant.

Then, confirm that the upper surface 11' of the upper signature receiver 11 is aligned with the upper surface 12' of the lower signature receiver 12.
When the proximity sensor 69 shown in the figure detects the signal, the upper document receiver 11 is rapidly switched from the position 11b to the standby position 11a via 11c and 11d under the control of a separately provided timer (not shown). By operating the air cylinders 26 and 38, the vertical movement and horizontal movement are continuously performed and the air cylinders 26 and 38 are operated.

In addition, a signal from a timer is sent at a predetermined timing based on the signal for discharging one small bundle, and the lower document receiver 12, which receives the small bundle of documents, is activated by the air cylinder 51 which is rapidly switched. 12b, and at a timing slightly delayed from the start of this descent, the upper document receiver 11 is rapidly lowered from its standby position 12d to the document receiving start position indicated by the solid line, and at the same time, the air cylinder 6 and 7 return the weir cutting board 4 and the weir cutting stand 5, and the temporarily stopped folding book moves forward again.
It is fed onto the lower document receiver 11. The lower document receiver 12 that has been lowered to the position 12b continues to be
c and 12d, it returns to its old position, but if the small bundle of signatures is moved to the right by the conveyor 68 as described above, the lower signature receiver 12 will not be retracted horizontally but will be raised to its old position. You can also do it like this.

As described above, the present invention comprises a transfer device consisting of an upper conveyor 3 and lower conveyors 2, 2' for transferring printed materials almost horizontally in synchronization with a rotary press, and a sorting device provided near the tip of the lower conveyor. , guide bodies 13 and 14 whose main parts are fork-shaped, which are installed directly below and in front of the signature exit at the tip of the lower conveyor, and on both left and right sides; and a space 10 of the guide body provided in front of the signature exit. A fork-shaped upper signature holder 11 that is inserted into and movable in the horizontal and vertical directions.
A fork-shaped lower signature receiver 12 is provided which is movable at least in the vertical direction by being inserted into the space 10 between the guide body and the upper signature receiver directly below the signature exit, and the upper conveyor 3 is provided with a plurality of endless belts. is extended into the space 10 of the upper signature receiver 11, and the upper signature receiver 1
1 passes through the lower document receiver 12 and the space 10 of the upper conveyor 3 and moves up and down while adjusting the timing, and at least the guide body provided in front of the document exit and the guide bodies provided on the left and right sides. An alignment device that allows one side to swing as necessary is provided, and
In the space 10 formed between the lower surface of the upper conveyor and the small bundle transfer conveyor 68, the gap between the lower surface of the upper conveyor and the upper surface of the upper signature receiver allows for an intermediate stop in the vertical direction. Slide blocks 22, 23 fixed to an air cylinder 26
The vertical movement of the slide block approaches the lower surface of the upper conveyor to narrow the gap width, and the vertical movement of the slide block widens the gap width with the lower surface of the upper conveyor. The frame material 5 fixed to the lower surface of the slide block 37
A fork-shaped upper document receiver 11 is fixed to 1 and can be moved in the horizontal direction integrally with the slide block 37. Therefore, the documents stacked by the document transfer device, the sorting device, the upper document receiver, and the left and right guide bodies before and after the document exit in this device may naturally fall and the printed surface may be damaged during the stacking process. By eliminating all rough printing, etc., there are no irregularities, folds, scratches, etc., and the guide body in front of the signature exit and either the left or right guide body slide to create the signature. By aligning them, it is possible to obtain a small bundle of folded printed materials that are accurately aligned and stacked.

1. A transfer device consisting of an upper conveyor and a lower conveyor that transport the printed signatures almost horizontally in synchronization with the rotary press, a sorting device installed near the tip of the lower conveyor, and a section directly below the signature exit at the tip of the lower conveyor. A guide body whose principal part is fork-shaped stands upright in front and on both left and right sides, and a fork-shaped guide body which is inserted into the space of the guide body provided in front of the e-book exit and is movable in horizontal and vertical directions. The upper part of the signature holder,
A fork-shaped lower signature receiver is provided that is movable at least in the vertical direction by being inserted into the space between the guide body and the upper signature receiver directly below the signature exit, and the upper conveyor carries the plurality of endless bands into the upper signature receiver. The upper signature receiver is moved up and down while adjusting the timing by passing through the space between the lower signature receiver and the upper conveyor, and a guide provided at least in front of the signature exit. An aligning device is provided in which one of the guide bodies provided on the left and right sides of the body can be swung as necessary, and an aligning device is provided in the space formed between the lower surface of the upper conveyor and the small bundle transfer conveyor 68. The gap between the lower surface of the upper conveyor and the upper surface of the upper document receiver is created by a slide block 2 fixed to an air cylinder 26 that can be stopped midway in the vertical direction.
The horizontal shaft 24 fixed to the slide block 22 approaches the lower surface of the upper conveyor by vertical movement of 2 and 23 to narrow the gap width, and the vertical movement of the slide block widens the gap width with the lower surface of the upper conveyor.
A fork-shaped upper signature receiver 11 is attached to the frame member 51 fixed to the lower surface of the slide block 37 which is loosely fitted into the slide block 37.
is fixed and can be moved in the horizontal direction integrally with the slide block 37, and by moving this upper document holder, it is possible to adjust a predetermined gap from close to the bottom surface of the upper conveyor to away from it. A small bundle stacking device for printed materials, characterized in that it is configured to be capable of both stacking methods: a push-in method and a push-in method.
