心に、冬期暖房時の効率向上のため、天井裏に断
熱材を施工する例が増大している。種々の断熱工
法のうち、特に断熱材の細片を吹きこむブローイ
ング工法によれば、すみずみまで施工できる反面
埋込型照明器具が天井裏内に埋込み取付けられて
いる場合、この埋込型照明器具にも断熱材がかぶ
さることとなり、光源が白熱灯などで発熱の多い
照明器具では断熱材におおわれた鋼板等板金製の
照明器具本体の温度が異常に上昇し、そのままの
状態で長期間使用すると最悪の場合には板金製の
照明器具本体外面に接触している造営材が炭化し
て低温発火にいたる等の安全上の支障が生じる恐
れがあつた。

照明器具本体1は、上面閉止し下面開口し下端
外鍔付円筒状に形成されており、側面には取付ね
じを挿通する取付孔2が複数設けられ、天井面に
設けた取付穴に埋込んで天井面に外鍔を当接して
取付けられている。照明器具本体1上面の内面略
中央にはソケツト3が取付けられ、光源ランプと
して白熱電球4が装着されるようになつている。
反射板5は、白熱電球4をおおうようにアルミニ
ウム薄板で形成され、内面が反射面で下端に外鍔
を有している。反射板取付枠6は断面コ字状で環
状に形成されており、中心対称な2箇所に枠取付
ばね7が取付けられており、照明器具本体1から
枠取付ばね7で引きあげつつ吊下げられ天井面に
当接し、反射板5を外鍔で載置している。外側反
射板8は、アルミニウムで内面反射面に形成され
て反射板5からの輻射熱を反射し反射板5と共に
反射板取付枠6上に載置されており、下端以外は
非接触に反射板5との間に反射板板厚の少なくと
も3倍以上の空気層を設けて熱伝導を防ぐ断熱層
