(Prior art) In a rotary printing press, if the web tension is too low, it will meander, and if it is too high, it will cause wrinkles and paper breaks, so the web tension must always be kept within a certain range. A drag roller is used to convey the web and control web tension. Conventional drag rollers are explained with reference to FIGS. 3, 4, and 5. 1 is a web (running paper), 2 is a drag roller provided with a large number of parallel grooves 2a all over the circumferential outer peripheral surface, and 3 is a pressing roller. web 1
is held down by the pressing roller 3 on the drag roller 2, and is pulled by the frictional force between the drag roller 2 and the pressing roller 3, and is conveyed to the next process while maintaining a predetermined tension. In this manner, in order to maintain the tension of the web 1 at a predetermined value, the web 1 is pressed against the drag roller 2 by the pressing roller 3. At this time, in order to release the air caught between the web 1 and the drag roller 2 and prevent a decrease in the frictional force between the web 1 and the drag roller 2, a large number of parallel A groove 2a is provided. Note that the pressing roller 3 can only press the non-printed portions because pressing the printed portions will stain the printed matter.

(Problems to be solved by the invention) In the rotary printing presses shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5, when it is desired to increase the tension of the web 1, the pressing roller 3
The pressing force may be increased accordingly, but if it is too strong, the grooves 2a provided on the outer peripheral surface of the drag roller 2 will leave marks on the web 1, so the pressing force cannot be increased beyond a certain level. There is a limit to the adjustment range of the tension of web 1.
There was a problem that the tension value could not be controlled over a wide range.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention addresses the above-mentioned problems, and consists of a flat part with a flat outer peripheral surface in the circumferential direction and a groove processing in which a large number of parallel grooves are provided on the outer peripheral surface in the circumferential direction. A rotary printing press characterized by comprising a drag roller formed adjacent to a flat part in the axial direction, and a pressing roller that presses a flat part of the drag roller. The control range of the web tension by the roller can be widened. Another object of the present invention is to provide an improved rotary printing press that can eliminate groove marks caused on the web by the pressing force of the pressing roller.

(Embodiment) Next, the rotary printing press of the present invention will be explained with reference to an embodiment shown in FIGS. Flat portions 5 and grooved portions 4 in which a large number of parallel grooves are provided on the circumferential outer peripheral surface are alternately formed adjacent to each other in the axial direction. Further, reference numeral 3 denotes a pressing roller, and the pressing roller 3 presses the web 1 against the flat portion 5 of the drag roller 2.

(Function) Next, the function of the rotary printing press shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 will be explained. The web 1 is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the drag roller 2 by a pressing roller 3, maintained at an appropriate tension value, and conveyed to the next process. At this time, if the tension of the web 1 is too low, it will meander, and if it is too high, it will cause paper breakage and wrinkles, so the tension value must always be kept within an appropriate range. Grooved portions 4 and flat portions 5 are alternately formed, and the grooved portions 4 allow air trapped by the web 1 to escape and prevent a decrease in the frictional force between the web 1 and the surface of the drag roller 2. Further, the pressing roller 3 presses the web 1 against the flat portion 5 to control the tension of the web 1. Note that even if a part of the outer peripheral surface of the drag roller 2 is made flat, the coefficient of friction with the web 1 is reduced by only a few to several tens of percent compared to a case where the entire outer peripheral surface of the drag roller 2 is grooved.

(Effect of the invention) As described above, the rotary printing press of the invention has a flat part with a flat circumferential outer peripheral surface and a grooved part with a large number of parallel grooves on the circumferential outer peripheral surface adjacent to each other in the axial direction. It is equipped with a drag roller formed by the same method, and a pressing roller that presses the flat part of the drag roller.
Since the pressing roller presses the flat part of the drag roller through the web, even if the pressing force is strong, no trace of grooves will remain on the web, and the web tension is better compared to conventional drag rollers that have grooves all over the outer circumferential surface. The range of control can be greatly expanded. Further, as mentioned above, since no traces of grooves remain on the web, there is an effect that the web can be maintained in a good condition.
