PURPOSE:To make possible the detection of a coil which indicates a high temperature by providing a coil temperature detection circuit of such a constitution that a thermister is installed for each coil and these thermisters are connected in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A printing head drive circuit 1 prints dots by applying an electric current selectively to coils L1-Ln, and besides, has a thermister TR1 near the coil L1. These thermisters TR1-TRn are connected in parallel. Therefore, if any one of the coils becomes hot, the thermister corresponding to such a coil indicates a drop in the resistance value, and even a single detection circuit can detect which one of the coils becomes hot.
