Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable high-density printing technically easily with a printing head fixed, and shortening of a printing time by arranging printing pins staggered in a plurality of rows, and in a zigzag form as a whole on a printing head. CONSTITUTION:Printing pine 2 totaling 11 are arranged at an equal interval on a printing head 1 and three rows of these pins, each row consisting of 11 pins, are arranged in such a manner that the intervals of the pins are filled. The printing head 1 is fixed without the necessity to move in a direction x as against the conventional printing head which moves. When printing is performed, printing paper 3 has only to be moved in a direction y. The wider the interval between the printing pins becomes, the more will be rows of the printing ;ins.

Conventionally, the print head 4 of this type of dot impact line printer has a print head of several tens of dots, as it is technically difficult to arrange the print pins 2 in a straight line with high density, as shown in Fig. 3. They were arranged in a straight line at equal intervals.

In the conventional dot impact line printer described above, there are several tens of dots between the printing pins 20, so in order to complete one line, the printing paper 3 is fixed and the printing head 4 is moved as shown in FIG. has to be moved in the X direction by a distance of several tens of dots between the printing pins, which has the drawback that printing time is increased accordingly.

The dot impact line printer of the present invention has a plurality of rows of printing pins arranged in a straight line at equal intervals, and the printing pins are arranged in parallel so that the printing pins do not overlap each other, so that the printing pins are arranged in a staggered manner as a whole. It has a print head.

FIG. 1 is a front view of a print head 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, 11 printing pins 2 are arranged on the printing head 1 at equal intervals, and they are arranged in three rows so as to fill the spaces between the printing pins 2 in each row. FIG. 2 illustrates the operation of an apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention, but the print head 1 does not need to move in the X direction as in the prior art and is fixed. Printing can be performed simply by moving the printing paper 3 in the X direction. Further, although the printing pin arrangement shown in FIG. 1 is for 11 horizontal pins and 3 rows, it is obvious that the number of rows increases as the spacing between the printing pins increases.

As explained above, the present invention allows high-density printing to be performed while keeping the print head fixed, technically, by staggering the arrangement of print pins in multiple rows on the print head so that the overall arrangement is staggered. This makes it possible to shorten printing time. Furthermore, since there is no need to drive the print head left and right (in the X direction) at high speed, the structure of the apparatus can be simplified.
