Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the liquid from running at a color border while adequate image density is maintained by dividing a composition of dots to be recorded into a plurality of groups and scanning with each group. CONSTITUTION:A single pixel is composed of four microcells and a single dot is recorded in each microcell 1. In this case, dots are rerecorded in the two cells of the four by the first carriage scan and in the remainder by the second carriage scan. As printing is performed at 1/2 of the density in the first scan, the print on paper dries quickly and fixes ideally. Furthermore, no liquid runs at a different color border. As the printing of the initial scan has dried sufficiently, almost no liquid run occurs even during the second scan. In addition, a recorded image has no reverse part against the background in the second scan as shown, if the cells in which dots are printed are controlled so that the prints obtained in the first and second scans do not become overlapped. Thus adequate image density is assured.

When printing colors other than basic colors with a color inkjet printer, the basic colors are mixed and printed, and conventionally, the following methods have been used to mix the basic colors. In other words, as shown in Fig. 4, basic colors are recorded overlappingly on the same pixel, and as shown in Fig. 5, one pixel is composed of a pattern consisting of multiple microcells, and a mixed color is recorded within one pixel. This method equalizes the number of dots formed within one pixel of a single color. In Figures 4 and 5, red (R) is produced by mixing Y and M;
This figure shows the case where green (G) is printed by mixing M and C, and blue (B) is printed by mixing M and C. In these methods, the recording of basic colors and mixed colors is
This is done by scanning the carriage 2 once in one direction.

However, with the above recording method, good images can be obtained on coated paper with high water absorption, but it takes time for the recording liquid to dry on plain paper with low water absorption, OHP paper, etc. Bleeding occurred at the image boundaries of different colors, and the image quality was significantly degraded (Figure 4 (C), Figure 5 (
C)). In order to suppress this bleeding, the diameter of the recording dots can be reduced to eliminate contact with adjacent dots, but even with this, the overall density of the image becomes low and a good image cannot be obtained. In addition, as shown in Figure 6, multiple printings with small dot density (Figure 6(a)) and multiple printing with small dot diameters (Figure 6(b)) are performed. ,
In either case, there is a white part that is not printed or a 1" stand,
The image density is not sufficient for 4G.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to prevent blurring at color boundaries while maintaining sufficient image density in recording by a color inkjet printer. With the goal. That is, the present invention is a recording method characterized in that the dot configuration to be recorded is divided into a plurality of groups and the dot configuration is recorded by scanning each group.

Furthermore, when performing the above-mentioned scanning for each group, if there is a means to adjust the time interval between the scanning of one group and the scanning of the next group, the scanning can be adjusted according to the recording material used, etc. Appropriate recording can be performed without taking more time than necessary. Furthermore, when recording a dot configuration that would last a long time if different colors were placed next to each other, it is not necessarily necessary to divide the dot configuration into multiple groups and scan each group; instead, the dot configuration to be recorded can be recorded all at once. It is sufficient to record the data in one scan. Therefore, if you record while selecting whether to scan each group or scan all at once, it will be more effective.
The time required for layer recording can be saved.

Example 1 Figure 1(a) shows the dot configuration for one pixel when a mixed color (green) is expressed with the same dot density as the single color shown in Figure 1(b). One pixel consists of four microcells, and one dot is recorded in each microcell. In this embodiment, one of the four cells, Y and C, is recorded by the first carriage scan. The second carriage scan records Y and C dots one by one for the remaining two cells. Here, the second carriage scan is the second time for unidirectional printing. However, in the case of reciprocating printing, printing may be performed twice as shown in FIG. 1 by one reciprocating scan.

As described above, since printing is performed at a uniform density in one scan, it dries quickly on paper, has good fixing properties, and has fewer stains at boundaries between different colors. By the time the second scan is performed, the printing at the first edge has sufficiently dried, so there are few stains at the border even in the second scan. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1(a), if the print cell is controlled so that the first print and the second print do not overlap, the image recorded by two scans will have white areas. You can easily obtain sufficient image density. This effect also applies to the single color printing shown in FIG. 1(b).

Also, when printing on a recording medium where bleeding occurs at the color boundary even when printing at a density of 50%, it is recommended to print 4 times at the same density, and further reduce the density of each print. It is better to increase the number of times of duplicate printing.

Example 3 The time interval between one scan and the next scan is adjusted depending on the type of recording material used. For example, coated paper, high-speed paper, and HP paper are selected, and recording is performed at the above-mentioned time intervals corresponding to each type. By doing so, recording can be performed in the minimum necessary recording time while maintaining an image density of -1.

In cases where high clarity is not required, such as in the case of drafts, or in the case of printing in only a single color, recording by one scan is often sufficient. In order to cope with such a case, a recording method that performs batch scanning can also be selected. If only one scan is required, the time required for recording can be shortened. In addition, when a large amount of printing is to be performed, the time required for recording can be saved by automatically performing one selection by scanning the areas where multiple colors do not touch each other once.

As described above, by dividing the dot configuration to be recorded into multiple parts and performing recording using the divided dot configurations by multiple scans, it is possible to maintain sufficient image density while also improving the boundaries between different colors of the image. It has the effect of recording good images without bleeding on recording media with low water absorption such as plain paper, and it also has the effect of changing the scanning method of the carriage and the ejection timing of each head in the liquid jet recording device. The above effects can be achieved by a simple and cost-effective method that can be processed by a control program.

In addition, when the density is recorded all at once on the drum 1 to be recorded, the amount of ink is large, and the recording paper swells and bulges occur. - It was necessary to increase the distance between the heads, but with the present invention, the amount of ink printed in one scan is small and the ink is dried each time, so the recording paper does not swell, and the distance between the recording paper and the head can be increased. You can set it short. Therefore, there is also the effect that a good color image with very little print distortion etc. can be obtained. Furthermore, by appropriately using the method of recording by multiple scans and the method of recording by one scan,
The recording time can be shortened.
