Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a connector having sufficient fastening force and sure connection by moving a movable sleeve in the insertion direction to narrow a connecting part and to shrink the inner diameter of the leg of a metallic shell, and engaging a locking projection with the recess of a mating connector. CONSTITUTION:A connector 3 consists of a connector main body comprising a cable holder 31 having a cylindrical insulator 312 and a metallic shell 32, and a cylindrical movable sleeve 33 movably mounted outside the connector main body. The tip of the metallic shell 32 where an insertion part 221 of a mating connector 2 is inserted is divided into a plurality of legs capable of elastically displacing in the central direction. When the movable sleeve 33 is moved in the insertion direction after insertion, a small diameter connecting part narrows the tip of the leg during insertion to elastically displace it inward. The inner diameter of the tip of the leg is narrowed and a locking projection is engaged with the recess of a mating connector to complete locking connection. A connector having sufficient fastening force and sure connection is obtained.

Before insertion, the movable sleeve is retracted, the legs of the metal shell are not elastically displaced, and the inner diameter of the lock protrusion at the tip is in a free state larger than the outer diameter of the mating connector. In this state, the connector body can be inserted into the mating connector using only the original insertion force. Then, when the movable sleeve is moved in the mating direction after insertion, the small-diameter fastening part squeezes the tip of the leg during this pushing movement and elastically displaces it inward, so the inner diameter of the tip of the leg is pinched and the locking protrusion is The locking is completed by engaging with the groove of the mating connector.

In this case, since the extraction tool does not protrude outside the area of its own connector, it is not necessary to provide a space for insertion and extraction around the connector, so a plurality of connectors can be closely mounted. Furthermore, since no force is applied to the cable when it is pulled out, there is no adverse effect on the wire connection section, and connection reliability is improved.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the main parts of the extraction tool 4 for easily performing the above-mentioned extraction operation without requiring space. A claw portion 42 that fits into the pull-out groove 336 of the movable sleeve 33 is protruded from the tip of the approximately semi-cylindrical shaft portion 41. When the connector is inserted into the movable sleeve 33 from the rear part, the claw portion 42 It is inserted while being guided by the 5 characters and rotating. Next, when the extraction tool is pulled out, the claw part 42
The movable sleeve 33 can be engaged with the tip of the letter and can apply a force in the pulling direction to the movable sleeve 33. In this way, the pulling tool for pulling out the connector of the present invention can be made smaller than the outer circumference of the movable sleeve of the connector, which not only makes it possible to mount the connector closely, but also simplifies the pulling operation. Since the cable is not pulled, the reliability of the connection section will not be compromised.
