[Detailed description of the invention] [Industrial field of application] This invention relates to the end fitting of a fiber cable in a fiber optic photoelectric switch, and in particular, the cable length can be adjusted by configuring the fitting to be detachable. The technical feature is that the cutting operation can be easily performed at the end of the cable.

For example, when installing a transmission-type optical fiber type photoelectric switch, the heads of the light emitting cable and the light receiving cable that are connected to one control amplifier must be installed opposite each other with the sensing object in between. Surplus cables occur, but in the past, the surplus cables could only be left as is or adjusted appropriately by winding them up, so it was often difficult to dispose of the surplus cables, especially in narrow spaces. It was hot.

In order to deal with this, in recent years some methods have been proposed for photoelectric switches using plastic fibers, in which the length is adjusted by cutting off the excess portion of the cable, but in this case,
As shown in Figure 3, a tip metal fitting is usually attached to the detection end side of the fiber cable by caulking or adhesive, etc., in order to protect this part and to separately fix it to the mounting plate. Due to the fact that
In reality, the proximal end of the cable was cut off and connected to the control amplifier via an appropriate fitting.

However, when the cable is cut at the proximal end, it takes time and effort to connect the cable to the control amplifier, and it is difficult to connect both ends of the cable to the control amplifier, which is positioned after fixing both end fittings. Since it was necessary to adjust the length of one of the cables, this work required considerable time and skill.

Therefore, the present invention has a cylindrical body with a male screw passing through its outer periphery and an expanded surface on the inner periphery of its proximal end, and a tapered surface that can fit tightly into a fiber cable and matches the expanded surface of the cylindrical body. By constructing the tip fitting from a ring made of hard plastic and a cap nut that can be engaged with the male screw of the cylinder, the tip fitting can be freely attached to and removed from the detection end of the cable, so that it can be attached to the detection end of the cable. The length can be adjusted.

The present invention has the above-described structure and has a special effect in that the metal fitting can be easily attached to and removed from the tip of the cable by loosening and tightening the cap nut of the metal tip.

Hereinafter, the structure will be described in more detail according to the embodiment shown in the drawings. In FIG. 1, 1 is a fiber cable formed by covering the outer periphery of a plastic fiber 1a with a tube 1b, and 2 is the tip of the cable. It is a cylindrical body attached to a cylindrical body, which has a male screw 3 passing through its outer peripheral surface, and has an expanded surface 4 at its inner periphery at its base end.

Further, 5 is a ring made of hard plastic that can be tightly fitted into the fiber cable 1, and has a tapered surface 6 at one end of its outer periphery that matches the expanded surface 4 of the cylindrical body 2.
Further, 7 is a cap nut that can be engaged with the male screw 3 of the cylindrical body.

In addition, as shown in FIG. 2, the ring 5 has a plurality of grooves 8 cut in the axial direction from the tapered end as necessary to facilitate tightening of the cap nut 7. The degree of adhesion to the outer circumferential surface of the cable may be increased by utilizing the accompanying diameter reduction corresponding to the groove width.

Therefore, when attaching the tip fitting of the present invention to a cable, first, the cap nut 7 and the ring 5 are sequentially fitted from the tip of the cable 1, and then the cylindrical body 2 is fitted to the tip of the cable. By screwing and tightening the cap nut 7 to the cylinder body 2, the tapered portion of the ring 5 is press-fitted along the expanding surface 4 of the cylinder body.
Since the inner surface of the ring strongly presses the outer periphery of the cable 1, the cylindrical body 2 can be easily and reliably fixed to the tip of the cable.

Further, the above-mentioned tip fitting according to the present invention can be freely attached with a lens or other various attachments by using the male screw 3 passed through the outer periphery of the cylindrical body, as is the case with the conventional fitting.

Since the proposed metal fittings with the above configuration can be freely attached to and removed from the cable, cutting work at the tip end of the cable is extremely easy, and compared to the conventional method of cutting the base end side of the cable, it is easier to install the amplifier. This type of optical fiber type photoelectric switch has remarkable advantages in installing this type of optical fiber type photoelectric switch, such as the detection end can be positioned later, the installation procedure is smooth, and work efficiency can be significantly improved.
