Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce noise generated overhead a seat in an air conditioner disposed on the ceiling or the like of an automobile with a heat exchanger, etc., housed inside cases by forming a sound insulating wall extending upwardly from the bottom of the case outward from the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 9, a cross flow fan 10 and a fan motor 11 are housed inside upper and lower cases 7 and 8 forming a suction port 13a and a blowout port 13b, thereby constituting an air conditioner 13 disposed on the ceiling or the like of an automobile. Outward from the heat exchanger 9 in the lower case 8, a sound insulating wall 12 is formed aslant upwardly away from the end surface of the lower case 8. Noise diffused from the air conditioner 13 toward the head position of a seat is interrupted by means of the wall 12. This can simply and surely reduce the noise overhead the seat.
