Abstract

PURPOSE:To make manual folding-back operation unnecessary by a method wherein the title device is provided with a press roller sticking a half of an adhesive rubber tape in a width direction, a tilt roller folding back an unstuck part of the tape and a tapered roller sticking the folded back tape and the surface of the tilt roller is formed of an elastic body. CONSTITUTION:Halves of adhesive tapes B, B' in a width direction supplied to both ends of the top of steel core fabric A are stuck to the top of the fabric A with a press roller 104 and the adhesive tape is folded back downward at a corner part of the upper part of an end face of the fabric A with a tilt roller 109. The surface of the tilt roller 109 is of a deformable elastic body 115, which is deformed according to a form of the end part of the rigid fabric A and the adhesive tape B is press- contacted to the end face of the fabric A. The tape B is folded back at the corner part of the lower part of the end face of the fabric A with the inclination roller 110. An unstuck part of the tape B is press-contacted to the bottom of the fabric A with a tapered roller 111. Finally, the tape B is press-contacted reliably to the fabric A by passing through between a conveying and driving roller 106 of the fabric and a press roller 108.

In FIG. 6, after passing the rubber tape C through the guide plate 9 and pasting it manually on the lower side of the end of the steel cord fabric A, the steel cord fabric A is transferred to the rotating roll 1.
9 and press roll 20, one half of the rubber tape C is glued to the steel cord fabric A. After manually bending the remaining half (unbonded part) of the rubber tape C into an L-shape at its starting end, the end surface of the side press roller 22 bends the subsequent unbonded part of the rubber tape C into an L-shape. Next, the rubber tape C bent into an L-shape is sequentially passed through the grooved rows 236, 37, and 38 shown in detail in FIGS. 8 to 10.
After the ends of the steel cord fabric A are folded back in a U-shape, they are lightly crimped onto the upper surface of the steel cord fabric A.

(2) In order to fold and press adhesive rubber tape C to both ends of steel cord fabric A, grooved rollers 36, 3
7.38 is pressed against the end of the fabric A, and the friction force causes the rows 236, 37, and 38 with inlets to rotate freely. However, if the conveyance speed of the steel cord fabric A is increased to increase production capacity, the grooves Attached roller 36,
37 and 38 increases, slipping occurs between the fabric A and the grooved rollers 36, 37, and 38, resulting in a speed difference, causing wrinkles in the rubber tape C, and causing the rubber tape C and steel cord to wrinkle. Air may enter between the fabrics A, causing 8-purchase defects to occur.
