Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit good vision to be attained for a base in its point end part further enabling a sufficient amount of water to be ensured in a water tank by tilting its front end face toward an iron main unit in its rear side to be further curved into a circular arc-shaped swollen condition. CONSTITUTION:An iron main unit 1 removably mounts to its front part a cassette type water tank 10, and it is formed by, for instance, synthetic resin into an almost U shape as viewed from the upper surface, arranging both side parts in a manner astride a handle 4 in its front end both side parts. The water tank 10 tilts its front end face so as to be relatively large brought down toward the iron main unit 1 in its rear side and curved swelling to the outer in a circular arc shape. A water filler port 24 is formed in this water tank 10 in its front end face upper pat, and the water tank 10 is filled in its inside with water through this water filler port 24 while enabling unnecessary water in the water tank 10 to be disused. Thus easily and efficiently performing ironing work, convenience of use improves.

(Prior Art) Generally, this type of steam iron has a water tank provided in the front of the iron body, stores water in the water tank, and drips the water appropriately into the vaporization chamber of the base to vaporize it. This vaporized steam is guided to the lower surface of the base and ejected. The front end surface of the water tank stands up almost at right angles to the horizontal, and a water inlet is formed in the upper part of this front end surface.

At the bottom of the water tank 10, an outlet 11 and a valve mechanism 12 for opening and closing the outlet 11 are provided. The valve mechanism 12 has a disc-shaped valve body 15 attached to the middle part of a valve rod 14 that is slidably supported by a support cylinder 13, and the valve rod is attached so that the valve body 15 closes the outlet 11. 14 is elastically urged downward by a spring 16. When the water tank 10 is attached to the iron main body 1, the valve rod 14 is pushed up against the spring 16 by the push-up bottle 19 provided on the iron main body 1, so that the water tank 10 is pushed up against the spring 16. The water contained in the iron body flows out from the outlet 11, and this water is introduced into the nozzle 21 provided in the iron body 1. The nozzle 21 is provided with an opening/closing needle 22,
In response to the operation of the opening/closing needle 22, water in the nozzle 21 drips out from the nozzle hole 21a at the lower end, and this water is introduced into the vaporization chamber 6, and the introduced water is heated by the heater 5. It is vaporized into steam, and this steam is sequentially ejected from the steam holes 7.

A water inlet 24 is formed in the upper part of the front end surface of this water tank 10, and water can be injected into the water tank 10 through this water inlet 24, and unnecessary water in the water tank 10 can be disposed of. There is. Furthermore, a window frame 25 made of synthetic resin is attached to the outer surface of the front end surface of the water tank 10, and a water fill window 26 is formed in the upper part of the window frame 25 facing the water fill port 24. An opening/closing lid 27 is slidably attached to the inside of the window frame 25, and the opening/closing lid 27 is slidably mounted on the inside of the window frame 25.
The water inlet 24 and the water inlet window 26 are opened and closed by the sliding movement of step 7. The window frame 25 and the opening/closing lid 27 are formed into a curved shape corresponding to the shape of the front end surface of the water tank 10, and an operating knob 27a is integrally formed on the upper edge of the opening/closing lid 27. protrudes forward of the water tank 10 through the water injection window 26.

The front end surface of the water tank 10 is curved in an arc shape, and the window frame 25 and the opening/closing lid 27 provided on this front end surface are also curved to correspond to the shape. The opening/closing lid 27 can be moved largely from the upper end to the lower end of the front end surface of the tank 10, so that even if the water inlet 24 and the water inlet window 26 are formed into large openings, the opening/closing lid 27
The ability to open and close the mouth sufficiently is the ability of the mouth. And water inlet 2
4 and the water filling window 26 having large openings, there is an advantage that water can be poured into the water tank 10 easily and skillfully.
