Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reception of signal by receiving a radio wave by a slit between a car body and a conductor provided onto a quarter glass face. CONSTITUTION:The conductor part 2 being a glass antenna imbedded on the surface of the quarter glass 1 of an automobile is in parallel with the left/right sides of the glass 1 and the upper end consists of the 1st and 2nd conductor parts 2a, 2b provided on the intermediate height of the glass 1 and the 3rd conductor part 2c connecting upper ends of both the conductor parts 2a, 2b. A radio wave is received in terms of a potential difference caused across the slit 3 between the conductor 2 imbedded on the quarter glass 1 and the car body 5 and a reception signal is led through a feeder 4 to a receiver. Thus, the radio wave is received excellently without being affected by the body 5.

Reference numeral 1 is a quarter glass of an automobile, and reference numeral 2 is a conductor portion embedded in the surface of this glass l, which becomes a glass antenna. This conductor part 2 is parallel to the left and right sides of the glass 1, and includes first and second conductor parts 2a and 2b whose upper ends are provided at an intermediate height of the glass 1, and both conductor parts 2a and 2b. The window glass antenna configured as described above receives radio waves as a potential difference generated on both sides of the slit 3 between the conductor 2 embedded in the quarter glass 1 and the car body 5,
The received signal is guided to the receiver by the power supply line 4, and the radio waves can be received without being affected by the body 5.

Furthermore, since the conductor 2 is approximately U-shaped, it does not obstruct the outside scenery. Furthermore, the above-mentioned glass antenna can be considered as a type of loop-shaped slit in which the width of the slit changes. By widening the slit width above the feed point, the area above the feed line 4 is left open. This reduces the total length of the antenna by half (creates an image).
This allows for efficient use of small spaces. Furthermore, since the input impedance seen above and the impedance seen below the feeder line 4 are different, matching with the feeder line 4 is easy to achieve.

Further, the slit below the power supply line 4 is cut in a U-shape to change the slit width in the middle of the slit. This increases the total length of the slit and lowers the resonant frequency.

Furthermore, by increasing the slit width, a wide band can be obtained, and by changing the slit width, matching can be achieved.

As explained above, according to this invention, radio waves are received by the slit between the conductor provided on the quarter glass surface and the body of the automobile, so that the radio waves are not affected by the body. Even if the glass is small, signal reception can be performed well.
