Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution of an optical telephone set by receiving the reflected light from a diaphragm vibrating with voices via an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When a speech transmitting part 10 receives voices, a diaphragm 11 vibrates with the voice pressure and the light received from a light source part 20 is modulated by the displacement of vibrations of the diaphragm 11. The modulated reflected light is condensed by a lens 31 and transmitted to a light transmitting optical cable 70 to be turned into the signals in accordance with the degree and the frequency of the displacement of the diaphragm 11. While the modulated reflected light received from the speech transmitting side is sent to a speech receiving optical cable 80 and received by a light/electricity converter 60 to be converted into the electric signals. These electric signals are demodulated by a demodulating circuit 50 to vibrate a diaphragm 41. Thus the voices are restored. In such a constitution, a conventional electricity/light converter used in a voice transmitting system can be omitted.
