Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep raw pineapples fresh by a method wherein raw pineapples with their peels and cores removed are put in a container made of high nitrile resin whose content of unsaturated nitrile monomer is higher than a specific rate together with absorber for oxygen and carbonic acid gas, and the container is sealed. CONSTITUTION:In a package for a raw pineapple, a raw pineapple with its peel and core removed is put in a container made of high nitrile resin whose content of unsaturated nitrile monomer is 50weight% or more and in which absorber for oxygen and carbonic acid gas is absorbed, and the container is sealed. High nitrile resin to be used is copolymerizate whose main ingredient is unsaturated nitrile monomer such as acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile. If the content of unsaturated nitrile monomer is less than 50weight%, sealing property of gas tends to be poor, resulting in reduction of the preservation term. This package prevents the pineapple from discoloring and its sacrocarp from being damaged, permitting good preservation capability to be obtained.

C. Prior Art Fresh pineapple is widely eaten as an after-meal dessert or snack, and is sold in various forms, such as with the skin on or sliced. Recently, supermarkets have made it easier for consumers to eat.
It is packaged by removing the skin and core, slicing it, placing it in a foamed polystyrene tray, and cleaning it with plastic wrap. However, these packaging methods tend to result in overripeness and short shelf life.

For this reason, methods such as vacuum packaging using polyethylene bags have been tried, but these only slightly extend the time it takes to reach overripeness, and because they are packaged in bags, they are difficult to display at retail stores. There were problems such as it was difficult and the pineapple pull could become deformed.

(Means for solving the problem) In order to solve the problem, the present inventors have made extensive studies,
We discovered that raw pineapple can be kept fresh for a long period of time if the container is made of a specific resin and stored together with an oxygen scavenger and carbon dioxide absorbent. The invention has been completed.

In addition, high nitrile resins include mixtures of rubber-like polymers such as butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, isoprene-acrylonitrile copolymer, butadiene-styrene copolymer, polybutadiene, polyisoprene, and the above copolymers; In the presence of these rubbery polymers,
It is also possible to use a product obtained by graft polymerizing an unsaturated nitrile monomer and the above copolymerizable monomer. In particular, a mixture of acrylonitrile monomer containing 50% by weight or more and a large amount of acrylonitrile monomer and a monomer copolymerizable with the acrylonitrile monomer is used as a conjugated diene synthetic rubber. Polymers produced by polymerization in the presence of are preferred because they have a good balance of processability, fii ftl resistance, etc., and have good storage suitability.

The thickness of the wall of the container used in the present invention varies depending on the content, required strength, etc., but is usually 100 to 1000 μm. If it is less than 100 μm, the rigidity of the container tends to be insufficient, and if it is more than 1000 μm, it may be possible, but it is not preferable because it may result in poor workability or increase in cost.

For the lid of the container used in the present invention, a single-layer film made of the above-mentioned high nitrile resin, or a multilayer film obtained by laminating the above-mentioned single-layer film on a film of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, nylon, etc., is used as the top film. A multilayer film having a gas barrier layer of polyamide or ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer may also be used. The top film is sealed to the container body by a conventional heat sealing method, impulse sealing method, or the like. Furthermore, the top film can be printed if necessary to increase the commercial value of the package.
