Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time for a both surface copying by copying both surfaces by inverting the both surface original through an original inverting path, and after exposing both surfaces, inverting a paper through a paper inverting path which passes through a fixing device. CONSTITUTION:The paper which is copied on one surface by an image forming means 11 is inverted through the inverting path 4 after passing through the fixing device 12, and again the other surface is copied by the image forming device 11. Therefore, because the unfixed paper is not inverted, the image qual ity of the paper is never soiled, and unlike conventional examples, the paper is not stored in an intermediate tray one. Thus, miniaturization can be obtained and a both surface copying can be derived from a both surface original in a short processing time.

As disclosed in No. 49308, one side of the original is first transferred to one side of copy paper, the transferred copy paper is peeled off and reversed while it is unfixed, and the other side of the original is transferred to the other side of the copy paper. There is a method in which the image is transferred to the other side of the copy paper, and this double-sided copy paper is fixed. Also,
For example, as disclosed in U.S. Pat. There is a system in which the copy paper stored in the tray is re-supplied to the transfer station to make copies on the other side.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> However, the above-mentioned conventional copying machines have the problem that the image quality of the copy paper is easily smeared because they handle unfixed copy paper, and the device is large due to the provision of an intermediate tray. Furthermore, since the feeding route becomes longer, there is a problem that the processing time for double-sided copying becomes longer.

<Means for Solving the Problems> In order to achieve the above object, the present invention makes double-sided copies of a double-sided original onto a plurality of sheets of paper, and distributes the double-sided copies of the sheets to a paper output tray having multiple trays. In a copying machine, a double-sided original sent from a supply hobper is wound around a cylinder, one side of which is exposed, and then reversed through the original reversal path, wound around the cylinder again, and the other side is A circulating automatic document feeder returns the paper to the supply hopper after exposing the side of the paper, and an image forming means that sequentially feeds the paper a specified number of times from the paper feed tray and forms an image on one side of the paper. By,
After copying one side of the exposed document and inverting the copied paper through a paper reversing path via a fixing device, the image forming means applies the exposed side to the other side of the paper. The present invention is characterized by comprising a copying section which copies the other side of the original document and sequentially sends out the paper on which both sides have been copied to the paper discharge tray via the fixing device.

Function> The circulation type automatic document feeder wraps the double-sided document fed from the supply hobper around a cylinder, exposes one side of the double-sided document, then reverses it through the document reversal path, wraps it around the cylinder again, and then wraps it around the cylinder again. After the side of the sheet is exposed, the sheet is returned to the supply hopper, and the copying section sequentially feeds out the sheet for the specified number of times from the paper feed tray, and the image forming means applies the exposed side of the sheet to the one side of the sheet. After copying one side of the original document and inverting the copied paper through a paper reversing path via a fixing device, the exposed original document is copied onto the other side of the paper by the image forming means. The other side of the paper is copied, and the paper on which both sides have been copied is sequentially sent to the paper output tray via the fixing device. Therefore,
The image quality of copy paper is not contaminated, and the processing time for double-sided copying is shortened.

The circulation type automatic feeding device 2 sequentially sends out the double-sided originals 8 placed in the supply hopper 7, wraps the sent-out double-sided originals around the cylinder 5, and presents them at the exposure location 6. When one side of the exposure is completed, the original is reversed on the reversing path 10 and then wrapped around the cylinder 5 again to expose the opposite side. Thereafter, the original after double-sided exposure is returned to the supply hopper 7 via the reversing path 10. If the desired number of copies is plural, the document is presented to the exposure location 6 while being wrapped around the cylinder 5 multiple times.

This paper discharge tray 3 is a multistage offset tray. This offset tray is a well-known type that can move several centimeters perpendicularly to the direction in which the paper travels, and can shift the stack of copy paper little by little. The copy sheets sent out from the copying section are sorted into a plurality of copies by this paper discharge tray 3.

On the other hand, for manuscripts, we cooperate with this flow of copy paper,
It is reversed through the reversal path d, and the opposite side (odd-numbered pages) is presented at the exposure location 6. Then, as in the case of exposure copying of even-numbered pages, it is wrapped around the cylinder 5 and exposed the same predetermined number of times as described above via paths e and f. Accordingly, odd-numbered pages are copied onto the opposite side of the above-mentioned inverted copy paper. Then, the copy paper on which both sides have been copied is transferred to the fixing means 12.
After that, it is distributed to each stage of the multi-stage offset tray 3 and discharged. This multistage offset tray 3 has a number of trays corresponding to the number of sheets that can be sequentially conveyed to the reversing path 4 for double-sided copying. On the other hand, the original is returned to the supply hopper 7 via path g with the even-numbered pages facing down as before.

On the other hand, in the above process, if the desired number of copies is greater than the number of stages of the multi-stage offset tray 3, the number of exposure copies is first performed for the number of stages. Then, by repeating this step for the number of sheets in the document bundle 8, copies of one set of documents for the number of stages can be obtained. Next, by repeating the above steps for the remaining copies, a desired number of copies of one set of originals can be obtained.

In this way, the paper on which one side has been copied by the image forming means 11 is passed through the fixing means 12, then reversed through the reversing path 4, and the opposite side is copied again by the image forming means ti, so that there are no unfixed sheets. Since the paper does not need to be reversed, the image quality of the paper will not be degraded, and unlike conventional models, it is not temporarily stored in the intermediate tray, so it can be made smaller and can make double-sided copies from double-sided originals in a short processing time. Obtainable.

That is, the single-sided original sent out from the supply hopper 7 is exposed at the exposure location 6, then passes through the path 1O, and then is transferred to the reversal path 15.
By inverting the original and returning it to the supply hopper 7, a single-sided original can be presented to obtain a double-sided copy or a single-sided copy.

<Effects of the Invention> As is clear from the above, the copying machine of the present invention reverses the double-sided original sent out from the supply hopper through the document reversal path, exposes both sides, and then returns it to the supply hopper. The paper is sent out from the paper tray for the specified number of times and then reversed through the paper reversing path that goes through the fixing device to make double-sided copies, so the image quality of the copy paper is not degraded and both sides can be copied in a short processing time. It is possible to obtain double-sided copies from originals, and it can also be made smaller.
