Traditionally, in order to hold and cool the heart during open-chest heart surgery, a pine-shaped material with cooling water flowing through a spiral waterway is placed under the heart. Or simply covering it with gauze or the like and cooling it with ice is often performed. On the other hand, for example, in coronary artery bypass surgery, the surgical field on the front side of the heart can be easily secured, but in the surgical field on the back side, such as bypass surgery on the left circumflex coronary artery, the heart must be lifted and turned over. There is a need. In such cases, it is very difficult to deal with conventional methods, so we need an appropriate and effective cardiac method that can wrap and support the heart, keep the myocardium from becoming necrotic, and treat the target area behind the heart. There were no cooling methods or equipment available.

In view of the current problems in cardiac surgery as described above, the present invention not only supports and cools the heart during cardiac surgery, but also supports surgery on the back side of the heart, such as bypass surgery on the left circumflex coronary artery. In addition to wrapping and inverting the heart without causing necrosis of the myocardium,
The purpose of this invention is to provide a medical cooling mat that allows appropriate treatment of the target area.

Since it is meant to hold and envelop the body, the material must have flexibility, smooth surface, and safety for living organisms. As such materials, rubbers such as silicone rubber and polybutadiene, and thermoplastic resins such as soft vinyl chloride resin, polyurethane, polyethylene, and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers can be used. Silicone, which has excellent biocompatibility, is preferably used. It is desirable to use rubber, polyurethane, etc. Further, the thickness of the sheet constituting the surface part of the mat 1 is 100 to 1000 μm,
The thickness is preferably 200 to 400 μm.

The overall thickness of the mat 1 depends on the method of manufacturing the mat 1 and the method of forming the cooling channel 3, and it is especially important if it is easy to use and has the flexibility to wrap around the heart as shown in Figure 2b. Although not limited, it is usually in the range of 2 to 10 mm.

A method of sandwiching a member formed in the shape of and joining the mat 1 and the peripheral part of the opening 2, and other appropriate parts if necessary, by a method such as adhesive or high frequency adhesive,
A tube-shaped member that becomes the inlet 4 and outlet 5 of the cooling liquid is sandwiched between the ends of two sheet-like materials, and is necessary to form the cooling water channel 3 in addition to the periphery of the mat 1 and the opening 2. Two sheet-shaped sheets with grooves that will become the cooling channel 3 formed by joining the parts (parts along both sides of the cooling channel 3) by adhesive or high-frequency bonding, injection molding, thermoforming, etc. There are methods such as bonding the materials together by adhesion or high-frequency adhesion, methods of integrally molding them by dipping, blow molding, etc., but there are no particular limitations.

As shown in Figure 2(b), this is very useful for securing the surgical field behind the heart.

To perform surgery on the affected area 8 on the back side of the mat 1, first, as shown in FIG. Next, as shown in Fig. 2b, by manipulating the string 9 attached to the mat 1, the heart 7 is turned over while the mat 1 wraps around the heart 7, so that the affected area 8 is exposed upward through the opening 2. By fixing the string 9 to a surgical covering cloth or the like at this position, a surgical field that is easy to operate on can be secured. Furthermore, if the affected area is above the heart, it is sufficient to simply hold the heart 7 on the mat 1, but it is more preferable to wrap the heart 7 with the mat 1, as this provides an excellent cooling effect. At this time, when the shape of the mat 1 is rectangular or square, a plurality of string holes 6 for attaching the string 9 are provided at each corner and/or around the periphery, and when the shape is circular or oval, a plurality of string holes 6 are provided. A plurality of them may be provided at appropriate positions in the peripheral area, and the positions and number thereof are not particularly limited.

Of course, as shown in FIG. 3, if the shape of the mat 1 is such that the hemispherical part 10 is appropriately formed around the opening 2, the heart 7 can be easily accommodated.

By using the medical cooling mat of this invention, it is possible to cool the heart more effectively by wrapping it while holding the heart during heart surgery, and when there is a surgical target area (affected area) on the back side of the heart. By enveloping the heart, inverting it, and holding and fixing it, the target surgical field is secured and the cooling effect is not diminished, so serious problems such as myocardial necrosis do not occur. This is a useful medical cooling mat with features that allow safe surgery.
