Abstract

PURPOSE:To make felt replacement work speedy by integrally lining a rubber sleeve on the inner surface of a tubular polishing felt so as to make it possible to start operation of a polishing machine only by installing this felt on a pneumatic rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:A main body 1 of a tubular polishing felt is formed in a simular tubular form to the outer diameter of a pneumatic rotary drum D. This main body 1 is of a double structure including the polishing felt 2 on the outer side and a rubber sleeve 3 on the inner side. Operation of a polishing machine can be started only by installing the tubular polishing felt 2 having the rubber sleeve 3 on the inner surface, thereby replacement work of this felt 2 can be performed easily and speedily.

Conventionally, for objects to be polished that have irregularly shaped, multifaceted or curved surfaces, the drum polishing method has become mainstream, in which a rubber sleeve and tubular polishing felt are attached to the rotating drum surface of a pneumatic polishing machine. There is. Compared to the disk polishing method (a method in which a polishing felt is attached to a rotating disk for polishing), the drum polishing method allows the polishing felt to uniformly come into close contact with the surface to be polished due to the elastic deformation of the rubber sleeve, resulting in better quality. This is because it has an excellent property of being able to obtain a polished surface.

In addition, in this drum system, tubular woven or needle felt with circumferential shrinkage was used as the polishing felt, and its shrinkage force was used to attach and fix it to the rubber sleeve on the rotating drum surface.

The conventional tubular polishing felt described above requires high dimensional accuracy in order to improve the frictional adhesion between the rubber sleeve on the rotating drum and the polishing felt, and is difficult to manufacture. Further, the work of attaching the polishing felt and the rubber sleeve to the rotating drum also required a great deal of time and effort.

Furthermore, the frictional force between the abrasive felt and the rubber sleeve progresses frictional wear on both, and if one of them wears out, both must be replaced, leading to increased costs, increased replacement time, and lower operating rates. There was a problem.

The polishing felt 2 may be composed of any type of felt, such as woven felt, needle felt, or needle felt impregnated with foamed urethane, and its fiber composition may be spun yarn, synthetic fiber, etc. However, in a preferred embodiment, heat-shrinkable short fibers (mainly polyester) are used extensively on the upper surface of the endless base fabric 2a, which is woven by appropriately combining synthetic fibers (polyester, nylon), etc. in warp and weft yarns. It is desirable to form the polished felt 2 by needling the batts 2b, impregnating the surface layer with foamed urethane U, and then processing the needle felt to a predetermined size and density (Fig. 3). .

That is, the liquid rubber supplied from the resin supply section 14 is applied by the roll coater 13 to the inner surface of the base fabric 2a of the polishing felt 2 that circulates between the stretch roll 11 and the drive roll 12, and the rubber is applied to the base fabric 2a. After sufficiently permeating into the tissue, the rubber sleeve 3 is dried and solidified using a far-infrared heater 15 to form a rubber sleeve 3 integrated with the base fabric 2a.

The characteristics of the rubber to be applied depend on the composition of the base fabric 2a and the air pressure of the rotating drum used, but the JIS hardness is +75 to 8.
It is desirable that 0° A1 thickness = about 4 to 10 mm.

Experiments were conducted by applying the tubular polishing felt of the present invention to a pneumatic polishing machine, and it was found that the installation work, which conventionally required replacing the rubber sleeve and polishing felt separately, could be done only once. , and the operating rate of the polishing machine improved by about 30% (Figure 5). Furthermore, since the rubber sleeve was completely integrated with the polishing felt, it was recognized that the strength and life of the polishing cloth were increased, and the results shown in the table below were obtained.

1 Experimental conditions 1 Drum rotator 5BOrpm Pressure = 0, 8 kg/c1i1 Abrasive concentration - 1.2% Polishing time - 50) 1 Table [Effects of the invention] As described above, the present invention is a pneumatic rotating drum. A tubular polishing felt used in a polishing machine equipped with a sanding machine is characterized in that the inner surface of the felt is integrally lined with a rubber sleeve, so that the tubular felt with the rubber sleeve on the inner surface can be attached to a pneumatic rotating drum. You can start operating the polishing machine just by doing this, which simplifies replacement work and greatly reduces the time required for replacement. Also,
Because there is no misalignment between the tubular felt and the rubber drum, there is extremely little wear due to friction (and it has a long life, making it extremely effective).
