Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the turning on of a lighting device convenient and especially make it possible to turn it on within a short time even in the dark by providing the surface or part or whole of the inside of a shade of the lighting device with electric conductivity and by making the conductive part a sensing part of a sensor. CONSTITUTION:The entire surface of a shade 1 is provided with electric conductivity by either weaving metallic threads into a cloth 8 stretched on the surface of a core material 9 or applying electricity conductive paint on the cloth 8. Joining parts of frame members 6, 10 and the core member 9 are joined by the use of an electricity conductive tape 12. The cloth 8 and its upper and lower edges are lapped over the conductive tape 12 and the edges are further held with another conductive tape 11. As a result, the cloth 8 is conducted to the frame members 6, 10 which in turn are conducted via a strut 7 to a lead wire 15. As the lead wire 15 is connected to a sensor circuit of a touch sensor, the entire surface of the shade 1 is the sensing part of the touch sensor circuit.

The desk lamp shown in the figure has a socket 4 fixed to the top surface of a hollow base 2, and a light bulb 5 is inserted into the socket 4 for use. Further, the shade 1 formed in an umbrella shape surrounding the light bulb 5 is provided with a support 7 made of steel wire.
It is supported on the stand 2 by.

At the inner bottom of the stand 2 is a circuit box 1 in which a known touch sensor circuit and a known control circuit (hereinafter referred to as a touch switch circuit) for turning on and off the power of the light bulb 5 are incorporated.
6 is accommodated. A power cord 3 is connected to the circuit box 16, and a power supply 1117 connected to the socket 17 and a lead wire 15 connected to the column 7 are also connected.

The shade 1 includes a frame member 6.10 made of steel wire to maintain the external shape of the underside of the frame member 6.10, and an umbrella-shaped transparent or semi-transparent frame member stretched between these members to form the side circumferential shape of the shade 1. The outer shape is made up of a core material 9 made of transparent synthetic resin.

The entire surface of the shade 1 is made conductive by weaving a metallic material into the cloth 8 stretched over the surface of the core material 9 or by applying conductive paint to the cloth 8. At the joint between the frame member 6.10 and the core member 9, a conductive tape 12 is used to join the two. The upper and lower edges of the cloth 8 are laid on a conductive tape 12, and another conductive tape 11 is used to press and decorate the edges.

Therefore, the cloth 8 is electrically connected to the frame members 6, 10, and the frame members 6, 10 are electrically connected to the lead wire 15 via the support 7. Since the lead wire 15 is connected to the sensing circuit of the touch sensor circuit, the entire surface of the shade 1 serves as the sensing part of the touch sensor circuit.

Further, since the area of the shade 1 is larger than other parts of the desk lamp (for example, the stand 2, etc.) and is located at the top of the desk lamp, it is located in a position that is easily touched by people. For this reason,
Turning the power on and off can be easily done by lightly touching the shade 1, making it extremely easy to operate. Particularly, when it is desired to turn on the light in the dark, the time needed to search for the shade 1 is short, which is convenient.

Note that the conductive portion of the shade 1 is not limited to the above-mentioned configuration; for example, a conductive film may be attached to the back surface of the core material 9, or a conductive paint may be applied to the core material 9. Various means can be used, such as using metal foil instead of cloth 8. It goes without saying that the portion to be made conductive may not be the entirety of the shade 1, but only a portion thereof.

Further, instead of the touch sensor circuit, a proximity switch circuit (this is a known circuit that turns on and off when a human body approaches the sensing section) may be used. In this case, it becomes possible to provide a sensing section inside the shade 1, such as by arranging a conductive film between the cloth 8 and the core material 9, increasing the degree of freedom in designing the exterior.

Furthermore, the control circuit housed in the circuit box is not limited to one that controls on/off of the power source, but may be any type that controls illumination such as dimming.

It goes without saying that the lighting equipment to which the present invention is applied is not limited to the desk lamp as in the embodiment described above, but can be applied to any lighting equipment equipped with a shade.

(Effects of the Invention) As described in detail above, according to the present invention, the shade is provided with a conductive portion that serves as a sensing portion of a sensor, thereby allowing the shade to function as a switch.

Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to instruct lighting-related controls such as turning on and off the power supply by touching (bringing the shade close to) the shade (more precisely, the conductive part) with a finger, which is convenient.
