On the other hand, in the method disclosed in US Pat. No. 2,843,218, a ring member is fixed to the center and outer circumference of a ring-shaped over-element, and the ring member at the center of the over-element is fixed to a cylindrical member at the center of the case. The element is fitted into a groove provided on the outer periphery and fixed via a holding member, and a ring member on the outer periphery of the over-element is fitted into a groove inside the outer periphery of the case and cap and fixed.

On the other hand, U.S. Pat. No. 3,859,068 discloses a device in which the outer periphery of a ring-shaped over-element is held between a cap and a case via a gasket, and the center of the over-element is attached to a ring provided in the cap. The case is sandwiched between a holding member having a shape and a ring-like support portion having a raised bottom portion on the center side of the case, with a gasket interposed therebetween.

In all of the above-mentioned conventionally known devices, the center of the ring-shaped over-element is held between the cap and the case via a gasket or a ring member, or is fitted into a groove in the case. The center tends to be vulnerable.
Generally, the vibration of the internal combustion engine is directly applied to the center of the case, so the weakness of the center of the over-element is likely to cause fatigue failure.

The present invention has been devised in view of the above-mentioned points, and has a ring-like shape as a whole, and a channel through which fluid passes from one ring-shaped end surface to the other ring-shaped end surface. It has an axial flow structure with a central member at its center and an outer circumferential member at its outer periphery, a case and a cap for accommodating this permeable element, and a case and a cap provided inside the bottom of the case. and a supporting member that holds the center member of the over-element between the supporting member and the cap while holding a seal between the outer peripheral member of the over-element and the case and the cap. A technical measure was adopted in which a seal was held and sandwiched between the two.

In the present invention, a center member is provided at the center of the over-element, and a support member is provided inside the bottom of the case, and a seal is held between the center member of the over-element and the support member and the cap. Since the central part of the over-element is held in place by the central member, the fragility of the central part of the over-element can be improved by the central member, so that it is possible to avoid a decrease in the strength of the central part of the over-element due to vibration or the like.

In the above configuration, contaminated air passes through the inlet 9 and reaches the space between the cap 6 and the case 7, as shown in FIG. Then, it passes through the bag-shaped portion 50c in the passing section 51 from one ring-shaped end surface 50a of the ring-shaped passing element 50 to the other ring-shaped end surface 50b, and becomes clean.
This purified air is transferred to the plurality of legs 4 of the support frame 4.

According to the structure of the above embodiment, since both end surfaces 50a and 50b of the ring-shaped filter element 50 are inclined, on the inlet side of the filter element 50, the amount of air in the direction toward the center is reduced by the cap 6. and the end face 50a of the passing element 50.
Since the distance between
It increases because the distance between it and 0b is large. Therefore, as a result, both end surfaces 50 of the over-element 50
Since the wind speed at a and 50b can be kept approximately constant,
The height of the air purifier can be kept to the necessary minimum, and the air purifier can therefore be made smaller.

Further, both end surfaces 5 of the ring-shaped over-element 50
By tilting 0a and 50b, a relatively large space (air circulation part) can be formed between the cap 6 and the case 7 as described above, so in order to prevent interference with other parts, the cap 6 and the case 7 can also be recessed in both directions.
