Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the cutting quantity of a bit by pushing and polishing the end portion of the swelled inclined face of a cutter against a moving belt having abrasive grains, then polishing the bit portion thereof with a fixed grinding wheel and finally carrying out the edge finish polishing of the bit by means of a buff polisher. CONSTITUTION:In an exclusive grinder, the bit portion of a cutter 1 on which a swelled inclined face 1a is formed is placed over two rollers and pushed against a belt on the surface of which diamond abrasive grains are formed to polish the end portion 1b through the high-speed movement of the belt. At this time, since the polishing is carried while slightly deflecting the belt, a curved face can be smoothly polished. Then, the bit is pressed against a rotating fixed grinding wheel on the surface of which diamond abrasive grains are fixed and a pulling action is carried out to give rough edge sharpening to the bit 1c. Then, buff polishing is carried out to sharply finish the bit edge 1d.

Are cutlery such as kitchen knives and knives traditionally made of metal?
However, in recent years, materials made of ceramics such as zirconia have been developed. Ceramic knives have become widely used because they are hard, maintain sharpness for a long time, do not rust, and do not transfer metal utensils to food.

When manufacturing such a ceramic cutlery, a ceramic raw material is formed into a cutter shape, fired, and then sharpened by the following grinding and polishing steps.

As shown in the cross section of FIG. 2(a), the thickness and width of the ceramic cutter l are first ground, and then the clam slope 1a is ground into a large curved surface with a radius of curvature of about 1000+m+s using a special grinder. Next, while rotating a fixed whetstone made of diamond abrasive grains fixed to the surface of a metal base, the ceramic cutter 1 is pressed against it to polish the cutting edge 1c.

However, as shown in FIG. 2(b), which shows an enlarged cross-section of the cutting edge, the ceramic cutler using the conventional cutting method described above has a large cutting edge of about 1.8 μm on the cutting edge 1d, and therefore has poor sharpness. It was rather bad. Poor sharpness of ceramic blades not only makes it difficult to cut food, but also causes the blade to break due to excessive force, causing the blade to chip easily.

In view of the above, the present invention provides a step of polishing a ceramic cutter having a predetermined clam shape by pressing the tip of the clam slope while moving a belt with fixed abrasive grains on the surface, and polishing the surface of the base. The blade of a ceramic cutlery is polished by polishing the blade edge using a fixed whetstone with a fixed abrasive layer, and finishing polishing the blade edge with a buffing machine coated with polishing powder. It is designed to attach the tag.

Test 1 (pulling) As shown in Figure 6, a ceramic knife 1 with a weight of 2.2
When the test paper 21 is held by the Kg mounting bracket 20, the test paper 21 with a thickness of 0.031 kg is stacked on the blade part, and the test paper 21 is moved 9 strokes in the direction of the arrow by the motor 22.
The number of sheets of test paper 21 cut was examined. As shown in Table 1, the results of three tests show that the number of pieces cut by the method of the present invention is greater, and the sharpness when cutting is better.

Table 1 Next, as shown in FIG. 7, the ceramic knife 1 is fixed, and the table 26 on which the felt 25 with a thickness of 9IIIm is placed is pushed up in the direction of the arrow at a speed of 10+ m/min. Changes in the cutting load applied to the table 26 until one piece of felt 25 was cut were investigated. The results are shown in Figure 8.
Conventional blade attachment methods have a maximum of 10. Whereas a cutting load of tKg was required, the cutting method according to the present invention requires only a maximum cutting load of 6.4Kg, and it can be seen that the cutting force is good even in the case of push-cutting.

Further, Test 1.2 above showed a comparison of the sharpness of the ceramic knife 1 in its initial state, but even when comparing the sharpness after long-term use, the sharpening method of the present invention was superior. As mentioned above, this is due to the cutting edge of the present invention.
This is because the ceramic cutter 1 according to the method has a thin clam slope tip 1b, and the cutting edge 1d wears out and becomes rounded during long-term use, but the clam slope tip 1 is thin.
This is thought to be because b remains thin and the cutting resistance can be kept low.

As described above, according to the present invention, the step of polishing a ceramic cutter having a predetermined clam shape by pressing the tip of the clam slope while moving a belt having fixed abrasive grains on the surface; The process of polishing the blade edge using a fixed grindstone with a fixed abrasive layer on the surface of the base, and the final polishing of the blade edge using a buffing machine coated with polishing powder, are performed in this order to create a ceramic cutlery. By making the blade sharp, the blade can be sharpened in a short and simple process, so that the sharpness of ceramic knives can be improved over a long period of time, and as a result, excellent ceramic knives can be manufactured with less chipping. Can be done.
