Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve water-proof performance by inserting the tip part of a water-proof seal material injection jig into the inside of a wire harness, and pushing out a water-proof seal material from extrusion holes provided on a peripheral wall of the tip part to be filled among wires. CONSTITUTION:A water-proof seal material injection jig 5 has the degree of the size in which the tip part 6 of the jig 5 can be easily inserted among the electric wires of a wire harness, and plural extrusion holes 7 are formed on the peripheral wall of the part 6. The number and size of the holes 7 are suitably selected by the thickness of the wire harness. The jig 5 fills a water-proof seal material 2 among electric wires with the part 6 inserted among electric wires of the wire harness 1 and with the material 2 extruded from the holes 7.

Wire harnesses used for electrical wiring in automobiles, etc. are constructed by bundling together a large number of electric wires. For this reason, if water enters the wire harness, the water tends to travel in the longitudinal direction through the gaps between the wires, and the water that travels between the wires can cause short-circuits between the terminals of the connectors attached to the ends of the wires. There's a problem.

Conventionally, as a means to prevent water from transmitting between the wires of a wire harness, it is possible to wrap a water-absorbing and swelling material in a water-soluble packaging material and interpose it between the wires to use it as a water-stop part of the wire harness. However, since this is a structure in which the water-absorbing and swelling material is wrapped in a packaging material and interposed between the wires, gaps still remain between the wires, and there is a risk that water may be transmitted between the wires without touching the water-soluble packaging material. Conventionally, when filling waterproof sealant 2 directly between electric wires, waterproof sealant 2 is applied to the outer periphery of wire harness l using manual gun 3, as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 6, a vinyl tape 4 is wrapped around the outer periphery of the electric wire, and the waterproof sealing material 2 is filled between the electric wires by pressing the vinyl tape 4 by hand.

As shown in FIG. 2, this waterproof sealant injection jig 5 inserts the tip 6 between the electric wires of the wire harness l, extrudes the waterproof sealant 2 from the extrusion hole 7, and then inserts the waterproof sealant 2 between the electric wires. It is filled with Note that the means for pushing out the waterproof sealing material in the injection jig 5 may be a manual type shown in FIG. 5, or an electric type.

FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the present invention, which differs from the previous embodiment in that a waterproof sealant is applied to the outer periphery of the wire harness l near the position where the tip 6 of the waterproof sealant injection jig 5 is inserted. This is because the leak prevention device 8 of No. 2 was installed. The leakage prevention device 8 has a jig insertion hole 9 and a wire harness insertion hole lO.
It is a two-split rubber or plastic molded product having a shape, and the distal end 6 of the injection jig can be inserted into the wire harness 1 while it is attached to the outer periphery of the wire harness 1.
