Furthermore, in order to prevent uneven wear of the magnetic core, a structure is adopted in which a so-called dummy core, a block made of Sendust, which is the same material as the magnetic core, is provided on the sliding surface of the magnetic recording medium.

A non-magnetic gap spacer (not shown) is inserted into the magnetic gap 5 . Also both core halves 1.2
A coil bobbin 3 having a coil 3a wound thereon is fitted into the magnetic core through a hole 3b formed in the bobbin when the two core halves 1.2 are joined. The magnetic core fitted with the coil bobbin 3 is fitted and fixed in the case 4 together with other magnetic head constituent members (not shown). The tip of the magnetic core provided with the magnetic gap 5 is exposed to a medium sliding surface 7 that slides on a magnetic recording medium (not shown) of the magnetic head, and the tip surface is ground into a cylindrical shape together with the medium sliding surface 7. . Furthermore, the fourth

The dummy core 6.6 is made of Sendust, which is the same material as the magnetic core half 1.2, and is formed into a block shape, buried so as to be exposed in the medium sliding surface 7, and ground into a cylindrical shape together with the medium sliding surface 7. . The dummy cores 6.6 are provided adjacent to the magnetic core on both sides in the track width direction (vertical direction in FIG. 4).

By sliding in the direction a in the figure and sliding the medium sliding part of the magnetic core half 1°2, the magnetic core half 1 is moved out of the effective track width of the magnetic gap 5 when viewed in the track width direction. Even if both ends la and lb wear unevenly, the inner part, that is, the middle part corresponding to the effective track width of the magnetic gap 5 and the parts near both sides thereof, are locally strengthened by the existence of both ends la and lb. Since it is not subjected to sliding force, it is less prone to wear and uneven wear is prevented. Similarly, the tip of the magnetic core 12 facing the intermediate portion of the magnetic core half 1 through the magnetic gap 5 is also a magnetic core half! The presence of both ends 1a and 1b protects the material from wear and prevents uneven wear.

Wear is prevented and the wear resistance of the magnetic core can be improved.

れるという優れた効果が得られる。[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, a magnetic core formed by joining a pair of magnetic core halves through a magnetic gap is slid onto a magnetic recording medium to magnetically record information. Or, in a magnetic head that performs reproduction, the dimensions of the magnetic recording medium sliding part of one magnetic core half in the track width direction and the dimensions in the sliding direction of the magnetic recording medium are larger than those of the other magnetic core half. Since we have adopted a structure in which one of the magnetic core halves doubles as a dummy core to prevent uneven wear of the magnetic core, uneven wear of the portion corresponding to the effective track width of the magnetic gap of the magnetic core is prevented. It is possible to improve the wear resistance of the magnetic core by preventing this, and it also has the excellent effect of reducing the number of parts and greatly simplifying the manufacturing process, resulting in a significant cost reduction.
