The rear view mirror of a car is attached to the side of the car body so as to protrude from the side of the car body to check the safety of the sides and rear of the car body, so it is easy to collide with other objects or pedestrians.

To avoid danger in the event of a collision, the law stipulates that the rear view mirror stay must be able to be collapsed by an impact force that exceeds a certain level. Furthermore, when the automobile is driving on a narrow road, the rear view mirror stay must be temporarily folded down to prevent the rear view mirror stay from colliding with an obstacle.

The problem then becomes returning the fallen rear view mirror stay to its original position (normal position), but conventionally this task has been done by the driver going back and forth between the driver's seat and the rear view mirror stay several times. This process is troublesome and requires a considerable amount of time.

Therefore, "the lower end of the stay is engaged with a leaf spring installed on a pedestal, and these are attached to the vehicle body plate with bolts, and a convex part is formed on one of the points where the stay or leaf spring abut and engage with each other. , a support device for a rear view mirror characterized by having a groove on the other side” (1973)

In this device, when a force above a certain level is applied to the rear view mirror stay, the rear view mirror stay rotates from its normal position, changing its support position, and then manually returning the stay to its original position. However, because the position of the groove of the leaf spring is fixed, it is not possible to finely adjust the normal position of the stay, that is, the normal position of the rearview mirror.

Therefore, it is not possible to fine-tune the fixed position of the rear view mirror in consideration of the driver's eye height, sitting position, etc. to find the optimal position for driving, and the rear view mirror stay cannot be specially processed. Must. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In view of the above points, it is an object of the present invention to provide a support device for a rearview mirror that can easily return a rearview mirror stay that has fallen down due to some reason to its original position and finely adjust its normal position. Another object of the present invention is to provide a rearview mirror support device that utilizes the existing rearview mirror stay as is.

This idea involves forming brackets on the top and bottom of the rear view mirror fixing metal fittings, screwing the rear view mirror stay onto one bracket and screwing a position memory stay onto the other bracket, and attaching the rear view mirror to the position memory stay. One end of an elastic stopper located within the movement locus of the mirror stay is fixed, and the free end of the elastic stopper and the rearview mirror stay are engaged in the normal position of the rearview mirror stay. This is a normal position memory device for the foldable rearview mirror stay.

In FIG. 2, reference numeral 1 denotes a cab panel, a rearview mirror fixing fitting 2 is attached to the cab panel 1, brackets 3 and 4 are formed on the top and bottom of the fixing fitting 2, and a position storage device stay 5 is attached to the upper bracket 3. At the same time, the base 7a of the rear view mirror stay 7 is screwed into the lower bracket 4 with a bolt 8 and tightened. It does not rotate, but only rotates when a force (impact force) exceeding a certain level is forcibly applied.

It is preferable that the position memory stay 5 is made of metal or synthetic resin, and the elastic stopper 9 is made of natural rubber or the like having high restoring force. Note that the position memory stay provided with the elastic stopper 9 is herein referred to as a position memory device.

Next, to explain the operation of this embodiment, normally,
The rearview mirror stay 7 is fitted into the recess 9a of the elastic stopper 9 as shown in Fig. 3, and while maintaining the normal position, the base 7a of the rearview mirror stay 7 is screwed onto the bracket 4 with the bolt 8 and tightened. Therefore, it will not rotate due to vibrations while driving.

However, due to some reason, the rear mirror stay 7
When an unreasonable force of more than a certain level is applied to the stay 7 from the direction of the arrow A shown in FIG. 3a, the stay 7
The elastic stopper 9 is rotated from 7 to 7a against the tightening force of the bolt 8 and the repulsive force of the elastic stopper 9, deforming the elastic stopper 9, and when a larger force is applied in the same direction, the elastic stopper finally deforms. Although the stay 7 rotates completely away from the stopper 9, the stay 7 collapses, but since the elastic stopper 9 has a restoring force, it immediately returns to its original shape.

Also, the arrow B shown in FIG. 3b is attached to the rear view mirror stay 7.
When an unreasonable force of more than a certain level is applied from a certain direction, the free end of the elastic stopper 9 is deformed and the elastic stopper 9 overcomes the force 7.
The stay 7 rotates from the position 7b to the position 7b, is removed from the recess 9a of the elastic stopper 9, and the stay 7 falls down. At this time, the elastic stopper 9 immediately returns from its deformed state and remains in the state shown in FIG. 3b. Next, when the fallen rear view mirror stay 7 is manually rotated and fitted into the recess 9a of the elastic stopper 9, the rear view mirror stay 7
returns to its original position, so the rear view mirror remains in its original position.

That is, as shown in FIG. 4, a recess 9b is formed at the center of the lower end of the elastic stopper 9, and the recess 9b is large enough to fit the rearview mirror stay 7 completely, or as shown in FIG. A recess 9 large enough to fit the upper half of the rear view mirror stay 7 in the center of both sides narrowed down.
It is also possible to form c.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, when a force above a certain level is applied to the rearview mirror stay, the stay rotates and deforms the elastic stopper, causing the rearview mirror stay to fall down. Since it restores to its original shape and returns to its normal position, by rotating and engaging the rear view mirror stay with the elastic stopper, the rear view mirror stay can be returned to its original position. Can keep the mirror in place.

Furthermore, since the present invention uses an elastic stopper, the normal position of the rearview mirror stay can be finely adjusted by adjusting the degree of engagement between the elastic stopper and the rearview mirror stay. The rear view mirror can be adjusted to take into consideration factors such as the driver's eye height and sitting position.

Furthermore, the present invention has a configuration in which a position memory device having a cantilevered elastic stopper is simply added to the existing rearview mirror stay, so the structure is simple and the current rearview mirror stay can be used as is without modification. . Further, in the normal position storage device for the retractable rearview mirror stay according to the present invention, position storage stays are respectively screwed to the other bracket, and the position storage stays are positioned within the movement locus of the rearview mirror stay. Since one end of the elastic stopper is fixed, the position of the elastic stopper can be changed by loosening the screw and moving the position memory stay to an arbitrary position.

In this way, the normal position of the rear mirror stay can be easily adjusted by simply loosening the screw and moving the position memory stay.
