Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the strength of a neck and to suppress the generation of warp by burying a plate-like reinforcing member vertically against the surface of a finger plate in the length direction of the neck. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing member 8 is constituted by forming, for instance, a titanium material to a plate shape, buried vertically against the surface of a finger plate 6 extending over almost the whole length in the length direction of a neck 3, and fixed into the neck 3 by an adhesive such as an epoxy resin, etc. Accordingly, even if tension of strings 4, 4... is applied to the neck 3 and a body 2, the plate-like reinforcing members 8, 8 which have been buried and fixed in the inside of the neck 3 execute extremely efficiently a reinforcing action against the direction of warp. In such a way, the strength of the neck 3 is increased, and the generation of warp is suppressed.

(Prior Art) Generally, this type of stringed instrument consists of a body (10) and a neck (10) connected to the body (10), as shown in FIG. 2(a).

It is configured to erect... This string (1

In this type of stringed instrument, a tension of 50 kg or more in the former example and 100 kg or more in the latter example is constantly applied as a load to the neck (11) and body (10). In view of these circumstances, the neck (11) of this type of stringed instrument has been designed to prevent it from warping easily even when the tension of the strings (12) mentioned above is applied, and the most suitable material has been selected. However, due to long-term use or the influence of humidity, the neck (1l) inevitably warps upwards as shown in Figure 2 (b). Ta.

In order to artificially correct the warpage of the neck, various types of necks in which a rod-shaped iron core called a truss rod is embedded inside the neck have been proposed and put into practical use. However, this method has the following major problems. That is, since the neck of this type of stringed instrument is formed into a thin rod shape, and the body is formed into a large plate or box shape, the tension of the strings described above is applied between the tip of the neck (11) and the body (10). When it joins the rear end, the mechanically plate-like body is not affected at all, and only the weak and thin neck moves upward at the joint with the body as shown in Figure 2 (b). It is to show a warping behavior. The truss rod is usually embedded only in the neck. Therefore, even if the neck is corrected using this truss rod, it will only be corrected within the length of the neck, so even if the neck warp is corrected, the warp that occurs near the joint with the body will not be corrected. This had the disadvantage of causing the so-called waist-folding phenomenon, in which the part was deformed into the shape of a ``<'' character. When this bending phenomenon occurs, even if the instrument is tuned correctly, the pitch on the bi-position side will be out of order, and the string height will become high, making it difficult to play, which is a fatal problem for this type of stringed instrument. It was something to fear.

Moreover, the material is not limited to the embodiment, and any material having high strength such as a plastic plate, an aluminum plate, an FRP plate, etc. may be used. Furthermore, although the reinforcing member has been described as being buried along the entire length of the neck, if the present invention is applied only for the purpose of preventing the waist from buckling,
It may be selectively arranged near the joint with the body, that is, from the 10th fret to the 20th fret. Furthermore, although the embodiments have been described with the truss rod omitted, a structure in which a reinforcing member and a truss rod coexist may be used in order to provide a strength-increasing effect as well as a correction effect. Further, in the embodiment, a guitar has been described as an example of a stringed instrument, but the present invention is not limited to this, and may be applied to any stringed instrument such as a bass guitar, violin, contrapass, etc.

(Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above explanation, according to the stringed instrument of the present invention,
Because a plate-shaped reinforcing member is embedded perpendicular to the fingerboard surface in the length direction of the neck, it has an extremely efficient reinforcing effect in the direction of neck warping, significantly increasing the strength of the neck and preventing warping from occurring. In particular, if the structure is such that two reinforcing members are buried in parallel as in the example, it also has the effect of preventing the neck from twisting, which has been an extremely serious problem for this type of stringed instrument. It has extremely useful effects in practice.
