Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency by eliminating a fear of making a device large by simplifying mold structure of a molding tool, by a method wherein hot press molding is performed by laminating a reinforcement sheet obtained by spraying water-soluble resin over a foam impregnated with urethane prepolymer. CONSTITUTION:Reinforcement sheets 3 are laminated to both sides of a foam 1 impregnated with urethane prepolymer after water-soluble synthetic resin 6 has been sprayed over the reinforcement sheets 3 and inserted immediately between a top and bottom forces 13, 12 of a hot molding tool 11. When press molding is performed by heating the hot molding tool 11, an isocyanate group of the urethane prepolymer and water in the water-soluble synthetic resin are reacted with each other and a molded ceiling base material is obtained as an interior trimming material having shape retaining properties due to curing reaction through making a molecule more high. Therefore, it becomes unnecessary to send hot air containing vapor or moisture into the hot molding tool through a vapor hole provided into the hot molding tool.

However, when manufacturing a conventional impregnated foam molded article, a steam hole is formed in one or both of the upper mold and the lower mold, and steam or hot air containing moisture is sent through the steam hole to inject the impregnated foam. The cyanate group must be made into a polymer by reacting with water, which complicates the structure of the mold, increases the size of the equipment, and makes it impossible to improve production efficiency, resulting in economic problems. According to the present invention, a foam is impregnated with a urethane prepolymer, a water-soluble synthetic resin is applied by spraying to a reinforcing sheet laminated to the foam, and after application by spraying, the reinforcing sheet is laminated to the foam and immediately heated. Since it is press-molded, the water in the water-soluble synthetic resin is heated and turned into steam, and this steam reacts with the isocyanate groups of the urethane prepolymer impregnated into the foam, resulting in polymerization and hardening. There is no need to provide a hole and send hot air containing steam or moisture through the steam hole.
