従来、グランドピアノの筬1を例にすれば、第
1図に示すように筬前2・筬中3・筬后4・筬妻
5及び筬中束6で構成し、筬中3にはバランスピ
ンを打込み筬后4上には鍵盤枕(フエルト)7を
配設する。また図には示さないが、筬中3の下面
の筬妻5及び筬中束6下面には筬すべり金具が設
けられて棚板8上に左右に摺動可能に載置されて
いる。この筬1は、ソフトペダル(図示せず)の
操作により定位置より高音側へ2mm乃至3mmスラ
イドして、鍵によつて駆動されるハンマーの打弦
点を変更させてピアノのソフト効果を達成する。
従つて筬1は、平坦なしかも左右にスムースに摺
動出来るものでなければならず、使用する材料も
天然良質木材を使用していた。近年は天然良質木
材の入手が困難となつてきており、木製の筬1の
場合には乾燥や湿度の影響を非常に受けやすく、
反りが発生し、筬1と棚板8とに隙間が生じ、雑
音発生の原因となり、また鍵盤の鍵タツチ感にも
微妙に影響し、演奏に支障を与えていた。

り金具によつてある程度の微調整が出来ること、
筬前2は棚板8との隙間が厳しい密着性を要求さ
れること等の検討結果を得ることが出来た。

た、筬中3の下面の金属筬中束12下面には筬す
べり金具を設けておく。更に金属筬中束12は強
度の関係で複数個用いるとよい。また、この金属
筬中束12は筬前2と副木10と後部材11との
下面に設けるように構成したが、これらの上面に
設けるように構成してもよい。
