Construction of conventional examples and their problems In conventional floor nozzles of this type, the rotating brushes are generally simply brush bristles planted on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor, and the overall diameter is quite large. was. Therefore, the height of the floor nozzle inevitably becomes large, which becomes an obstacle when cleaning under furniture, etc.

In order to solve this problem, it is possible to shorten the length of the brush bristles, but in this case, the brushing effect (the effect of scraping up the carpet surface with the elasticity of the bristles) will decrease, and the cleaning ability will decrease. There was a fundamental problem with the floor nozzle.
Another idea was to shorten the brush bristles and make the rotor thinner, but this was not practical as it would make hair and threads more likely to get wrapped around the rotor.

This rotating brush was devised to eliminate these conventional drawbacks, and has a concave groove formed in the longitudinal direction of the rotor, and brush bristles are planted at the bottom of the concave groove to create a brushing effect. There is also a rotating brush whose diameter is made smaller by the length of the brush bristles facing into the concave grooves, while ensuring a sufficient length of brush bristles and a diameter of the rotor that makes it difficult for hair or threads to become entangled.

Structure of the Invention The present invention has a rotor having a substantially elliptical cross-sectional shape, and brush bristles are provided in the short axis direction of the rotor.
A convex portion is formed on the outer periphery of the rotor near the side surface of the brush bristles, and the rotation locus of the tip of this convex portion is made to match the rotation locus of the tip of the rotor in the longitudinal direction. The diameter of the rotating brush is reduced by the difference in radius between the shaft and the short axis, and the length of the bristles is sufficient for the brushing effect. The convex part intermittently strikes the surface to be cleaned, such as a carpet, together with the tip of the rotor in the longitudinal direction, to reliably knock out the dust inside. Furthermore, since the tip of the rotor in the long axis direction and the tip of the convex part follow the same rotational locus, it is easy to center the tips by pinching them with chucks, etc., and the shaft can be mounted precisely at the center of the end surface. It is something that can be done.

Reference numeral 13 denotes a substantially semi-cylindrical suction joint which rotatably slides on the rear inner surface of the turbine chamber 7, and a connection port 14 is formed from a part of its peripheral wall. More specifically, the suction joint 13 has a shaft protruding outward from its side wall and a hollow shaft 16 which are supported by both side walls of the turbine chamber 7 . The suction joint 13 rotates while closing the rear opening 9 of the turbine chamber 7, and the connection port 14 is accordingly displaced up and down within the opening 9. Reference numeral 17 indicates a connecting tube rotatably attached to the connecting port 14 via a ring 18, and detachably connected to an extension pipe (not shown) communicating with the suction side of the vacuum cleaner via a hose. It is something that

Reference numeral 19 designates a turbine that is provided in the turbine chamber 7 and whose outer periphery is partially surrounded by the suction joint 13. A shaft body 20 extends from one side of the turbine through the hollow shaft 16 of the suction joint 13 and projects to the outside of the turbine chamber. It is integrally protruded. Reference numeral 21 denotes a bearing of the shaft body 20 fixed to the floor nozzle main body 1, and 22 denotes a power transmission device stretched between a drive pulley 23 provided at the tip of the shaft body 20 and a driven pulley 24 provided on the rotating brush 10. It is a belt. That is, the rotation of the turbine 19 is transmitted to the rotating brush 10.

Now, in FIG. 2, the rotating brush 10 has brush bristles 11 planted on the rotor 10' as described above, and its structure is such that the cross-sectional shape of the rotor 10' is approximately elliptical. The brush bristles 11 are installed in the short axis direction of this cross section, and a convex portion 26 is formed on the outer periphery of the rotor 10' near the side surface of the bristles 11. The tip of the convex portion 26 is set to match the rotation locus of the tip in the longitudinal direction of the rotor 10'. Of course, the tips of the brush bristles 11 protrude from the longitudinal outer peripheral surface 27 of the cross-sectional shape of the rotor 10'.

In the above configuration, when the vacuum cleaner is operated now, the suction airflow flowing from the suction port 5 to the suction chamber 6 passes through the ventilation port 25 and collides with the turbine 19.
Next, it flows through the suction joint 13 → connection tube 17 → extension pipe → hose to reach the vacuum cleaner. Therefore, the turbine 19 rotates, and the rotation is caused by the rotation of the drive pulley 23→belt 22→driven pulley 24.
and is transmitted to the rotating brush 10.

By the way, the rotor 1 of the rotating brush 10 is
0' has an oval or oval cross-sectional shape,
The brush bristles 11 are implanted on the outer periphery of the rotating brush 11 in the short axis direction, and a convex portion 26 is formed on the outer periphery near the side surface. Since the overall length of the rotor 10' can be sufficiently long as in the conventional case, a good brushing effect can be achieved. By adding the effect of knocking out dust by intermittently hitting the surface to be cleaned, it is possible to improve the dust collection performance while downsizing the rotating brush and eventually the floor nozzle.

Furthermore, the rotation locus of the tip of the convex portion 26 is the rotor 1
Since the rotation locus is made to coincide with the rotation locus of the tip in the long axis direction of 0', centering of the end face can be ensured by grasping them with, for example, a chuck. Therefore, the support shaft can be accurately attached to the center of the end face of the rotor 10', thereby achieving smooth rotation. In the above embodiments, a turbine is used as the drive source for the rotating brush, but a motor or the like may also be used, and the drive source is not limited to this.

Effects of the Invention As explained above, in the present invention, the cross-sectional shape of the rotor is approximately elliptical, the brush bristles are implanted in the short axis direction, and the protrusions are provided on the outer periphery of the rotor near the side surfaces of the bristles. As a result, the following excellent effects can be expected.

The surface to be cleaned is intermittently struck by the convex portion and the tip in the longitudinal direction of the rotor, and therefore, dust from deep inside the surface to be cleaned is reliably knocked out, and the scraping body It is swept up and reliably sucked into the floor nozzle.

Due to the small diameter of the rotating brush, its rotational torque can be reduced, and its driving source may also have a small output, so that the floor nozzle can be further made thinner and smaller.

Even though the rotor has a deformed cross-section, the tip and convex portion in the long axis direction take the same rotation trajectory, so by grasping them with a chuck, for example, it is possible to center the end face. This makes it easier to mount the support shaft accurately at the center of the rotor. Therefore, smooth rotational motion without center runout can be obtained.

回転子外周に細塵がたまりにくい。 Fine dust does not easily accumulate around the rotor.
