Generally, a bead pocket having one or both bead edges is formed as follows. First, two opening cloths are placed on the front side of the fabric with an appropriate distance between them, stacked in the same direction or facing each other, and their edges are sewn together. At this time, one or both edges of the opening cloth are folded in to form a loop when sewing. Next, make a notch in the fabric between the sewn parts of the opening cloth to form the opening for the pocket, then push the two attached opening cloths through the notch to the back of the fabric and sew the corners on both sides. to secure the opening cloth. As a result, the loop becomes a bead, so that a bead pocket can be formed.

However, even when first positioning the opening cloth, or when folding the edge of the opening cloth to form a loop that will become the beading, even if you draw a positioning line on the fabric with a tool, etc. Both of these steps had to be carried out using only the intuition of the seamstress, and it was extremely difficult to accurately position the opening cloth and perform the sewing process. Moreover, even when sewing, there are cases where the sewing machine cannot sew the fabric straight, making it impossible to attach the two opening fabrics parallel to each other at appropriate intervals, and because the fabric is fed at high speed by the sewing machine, the sewing machine may not be able to sew the fabric straight. There was a problem where the machine could not accurately sew just the width of the machine, causing it to sew. As a result, the opening fabric inevitably bends or shifts, making the formed pockets wrinkled and easily scratched. Therefore, it is difficult to form such beaded pockets, especially the beaded edges, unless you are a very skilled person. It was possible.

First, the sewn part S 1 of the upper cloth and the sewn part S 2 of the lower cloth.
In order to determine the distance G (see Fig. 7) between the adjustable beading member 1 and the other fixed It is displaced within the holding member 2 relative to the bead forming member and fixed again with the screw 5 and threaded pin 6 in accordance with the desired spacing between the sewn parts. Also, by loosening the screws 16 and sliding the stop members 14 of each bead forming member 1 along the positioning member 15, the width W (Fig. 7) of the sewn portions S 1 and S 2 of the opening cloth is formed. It is fixed according to the width of the pocket, and the distance between each stop member is adjusted in advance.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2, after placing the fabric A on which the pocket is to be formed with its front side up, the jig according to this invention is placed at a desired position. Then, for example, as shown in the figure, the opening cloth presser plate 9 of the fixed bead forming member 1 is opened, the lower opening cloth B is placed on the base plate 8 with the front side up, and the opening cloth presser plate 9 is closed. Then, the lower opening cloth B is sandwiched and fixed between the substrate 8 and the presser plate 9. In this case, the lower opening cloth B is positioned so that its front edge Ba slightly protrudes from the vertical edges of the base plate 8 and the opening cloth pressing plate 9 by the amount of the sewing allowance.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 3, the upper opening cloth C is now sandwiched on the base plate 8 of the other adjustable beading member 1 in the same direction as the aforementioned lower opening cloth B, with the back side facing up. In this case, the front edge Ca of the upper opening cloth C is folded inward to a desired extent by the width of the bead to be formed, and the opening cloth pressing plate 9 is closed to form a loop in the upper opening cloth C. When closing each opening cloth presser plate 9 to fix the lower opening cloth B and the upper opening cloth C, the threaded pins 4 and 6 engage with the slot holes 7a provided in the extension part 7 of the base plate 8, respectively. , the opening cloth pressing plate 9 can be securely fixed to the substrate 8. Further, since the anti-slip member 20 is provided on the back side of each of the substrate 8 and the opening cloth presser plate 9 as described above, the cloth A and the opening cloths B and C will not shift. In this way, the upper and lower opening cloths C and B can be accurately positioned at desired positions with respect to the cloth A.

The operation of sewing the positioned upper and lower opening cloths C and B to the fabric A using a sewing machine begins with the upper opening cloth C first. To do this, the groove 13b of the sliding part 13a of the sewing machine jig 13 is fitted into the guide member 12 of the top cloth presser plate 9 that fixes the top cloth C, as shown in FIG. The sliding portion 13a may be slid between the stop members 14 while moving the entire sewing machine on the table of the sewing machine. As a result, the sewing machine needle is moved to the sliding portion 13.
Since it passes through the hole 13c of a and advances along the guide member 12, the top cloth C can be sewn to the fabric A by forming a loop that becomes a bead at the front edge of the top cloth C. . In this case, the sliding part 13 can be guided between the inner ends 14a of the stop members 14 on one side and on the other, making it possible to precisely sew by a predetermined width of the pocket.

Next, with the fabric A removed from the jig or fixed to the jig, cut D along the center line between the welt forming members 1 as shown in FIG. 7 using a cutting tool such as a cutter or scissors. to form the opening of the pocket. Triangular pieces E are then formed on both sides of the cut D from the back side of the fabric A. After that, the cut D
Push the upper and lower opening cloths C and B into the back side of fabric A, and then tie the triangular piece E on both sides of both opening cloths B and C so that both ends of the sewn parts S 1 and S 2 of opening cloths B and C are tied together. Machine stitch along with the edges. As a result, the upper opening cloth C becomes the opposite cloth on the back side of the fabric A, the lower opening cloth B becomes the lining of the pocket, and the loop formed on the upper opening fabric C becomes a beveled edge on the front side of the fabric A, so that one side of the opening becomes the opposite fabric. You can complete the edge pocket.
