In electronic communication equipment and electronic application equipment, patch connectors and signals between units are used to electrically connect two arranged units without applying mechanical stress, or to check the electrical characteristics of the units. The connector that changes the phase of the waveform plays an important role. Therefore, a variable coaxial connector is required that can electrically and mechanically reliably connect two coaxial terminals.

A conventional variable coaxial connector has a structure shown in FIG. 1 as an example. This variable coaxial connector has a coaxial connector member 1 at one end fixed to one unit (not shown), and a coaxial connector member 2 at the other end within a certain range in the axial direction with respect to the fixed coaxial connector member 1. It is now possible to move around. Depending on the position of the other unit (not shown), the movable coaxial connector member 2 attached to the other unit is moved relative to the fixed connector member 1. First, a female contact 3 having a long hollow portion is fixed to the center conductor 1a of the fixed coaxial connector member 1, and a long housing 4 is screwed to the outer conductor 1b. On the other hand, the movable side coaxial connector 2
A semi-flexible coaxial cable 5 whose outer conductor 5b is made of copper and matches the characteristic impedance of the circuit is fixed to the. That is, the outer conductor 5a of this connecting coaxial cable 5 is connected to the movable coaxial connector member 2.
The central conductor 5a of the coaxial cable 5 is connected to the central conductor 2a of the movable coaxial connector member 2. A male contact 7 is fixed to the tip of the center conductor 5a of the coaxial cable 5. Fixed side and movable side coaxial connectors 1, 2
To connect, insert the coaxial cable 5 on the movable side into the housing 4 by inserting the male contact 7 on the movable side into the hollow part of the female contact 3 on the fixed side,
The end of the casing 4 is tightened and fixed with a tightening nut 8. Note that the symbols 1c, 5c, and 2c in the drawings are insulators between the outer conductor and the center conductor in the respective members 1, 5, and 2. When connecting circuit units using this conventional variable coaxial connector, loosen the tightening nut 8 and move the movable coaxial connector member 2 and coaxial cable 5 by a predetermined distance in the axial direction with respect to the housing 4. Connect between units. However, in this conventional structure, the movable coaxial connector member 2, the coaxial cable 5 and the male contact 7 are connected to the fixed housing 4 and the female contact 3.
It is difficult to maintain the initial normal contact state because the female contact 3 and the male contact 7 are easily connected from the outside. Even if the contact 7 is incorrectly inserted into the female contact 3, it is difficult to detect, resulting in a potentially serious drawback to the quality and reliability of the product.

The present invention eliminates the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and provides a recess on the inner periphery of the female contact of the fixed side coaxial connector member, and a recessed part on the outer periphery of the male contact of the movable side coaxial connector member, This forms a mutual locking part between the female contact and the male contact, and the engagement of this locking part prevents the female and male contacts from coming off, and the casing of the movable part It is an object of the present invention to provide a variable coaxial connector that prevents the connector from falling off from the body and allows for confirmation of erroneous insertion of female and male contacts.

Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the variable coaxial connector according to the embodiment of the present invention in an assembled state, and Fig. 3 a shows the female and male contacts when the variable coaxial connector of the present invention is extended to its maximum range. FIG. 7 is a partially enlarged cross-sectional view showing a locked state of the child. In these figures, parts having the same functions as those of the conventional structure shown in FIG. 1 are designated by the same reference numerals, and redundant explanations of those parts will be omitted. A female contact 11 is connected to the center conductor 1a of the fixed side coaxial connector member 1 by soldering.
is made of a material with spring properties such as beryllium copper, and has an annular groove 12 on the inner periphery of its end.
Following the groove 12, a small diameter annular protrusion 19 is formed on the edge side. The stepped portion between the annular groove 12 and the annular protrusion 19 serves as a locking portion on the female contact 11 side. Furthermore, referring to FIG. 3a, the axially outer end of the annular protrusion 19 of the female contactor 11 and the inner step of the annular recess are formed into tapered surfaces as shown by reference numerals 13a and 13b, respectively. ing. The end of the female contact 11 has a plurality of grooves 17a, 17 along the axial direction as shown in FIG. 3b and has a length L in FIG.
b, 17c, and 17d are inserted, and these parts are evenly compressed as a whole and subjected to age hardening treatment. Therefore, the female contact 11 has a smaller diameter in the vicinity of the end, tapering toward the tip. Screwing the housing 4 onto the outer conductor 1b of the fixed coaxial connector member 1 so as to accommodate the female contact 11 is as already explained in FIG. 1.

Center conductor 5 of semi-flexible coaxial cable 5 on the movable side
The male contact 14 to be connected to the terminal a by soldering has an annular groove 15 formed on the outer periphery near its tip, which corresponds to the annular protrusion 19 of the female contact 11, and a groove 15 at the tip of the contact. A tapered portion 16a and a tapered portion 16b are formed at one step of the groove 15, respectively. As already mentioned, the semi-flexible coaxial cable 5 is fixed to the movable coaxial connector member 2. Male contact 14 and coaxial cable 5
A variable coaxial connector is constructed by inserting the connector into the housing 4 and connecting the female contact 11 and the male contact 14.

In the coaxial connector of the present invention having such a structure, the female contact 11 and the male contact 14 are
At the time of initial connection, connection can be made in the case of the conventional structure by the tapered parts 13a and 16a provided at the tips of each, and the male contact 14 is pushed into the inside of the female contact 11 as shown by the dotted line in FIG. 3a. Even in this case, the tapered portions 13b and 16b formed on the step portions on each side of the grooves 12 and 15 of the contacts 11 and 14 allow insertion and connection with less mechanical stress. Conversely, even if you try to change the movable side coaxial connector member 2 beyond the allowable variable range, the male contact 1
The annular protrusion 19 of the female contact 11, whose tip is constricted, falls into the annular groove 15 of numeral 18.
Due to the locking portion shown in , the problem that the male contactor 14 and therefore the movable coaxial connector member 2 easily separate from the housing 4 is eliminated, and a stable connection state is maintained. Also, the fact that the male contact 14 is caught in the maximum extension range without easily coming off means that the male contact 14 is definitely inserted into the female contact 11, and this also determines whether or not it was inserted incorrectly. can be easily determined. If inserted incorrectly, it will easily come out.

In this way, in the variable coaxial connector of the present invention, once the male contact and the female contact are connected, this connection cannot be easily released, and even if the coaxial connector member on the movable side is inserted incorrectly, By pulling it out, you can easily check the connection status and eliminate the risk of using it without realizing it has been inserted incorrectly, which can greatly contribute to improving the quality and reliability of the connection.
