Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a colored indication card having a see-through property, by a method wherein a colored layer is formed wholly or partially in a transparent region of a transparent card base, a graver needle edge for engraving is scanned from above the colored layer, and thereby the colored layer and a base surface are cut to form a see-through part of a dotted or net-shaped pattern and a colored indication part of a reversed-image pattern of the former on the card base. CONSTITUTION:A graver needle edge of an autograver is moved and scanned continuously and intermittently in the direction X-Y in a plane and in the direction Z in the height on the surface of a colored layer (a) formed on a card base, from above the colored layer (a), to cut the colored layer and the surface of the base 4 in a dotted or a net-shaped pattern so that the cut reaches the transparent base 4 under the colored layer (a). A see-through part (b) is formed by removing the colored layer (a) in the cut part. Then, a colored indication part (c) having a reversed-image pattern in relation to the pattern of the see-through part (b) is formed to give a see-through property to a card. According to this constitution, the sides of the card opposite to each other can be seen through the colored indication part, and thus designs different from or identical with each other can be displayed on the front and back sides of the card.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2, from above the colored layer a formed on the card base material 4, the carving blade of the autograver is continuously or intermittently applied to the colored layer 8 in the plane X-Y direction and the height Z direction. The colored layer and the 4 surfaces of the base material are cut into dots or net-like patterns so as to reach the transparent base material 4 below the colored layer a by moving and scanning, and the colored layer a in the cut parts is removed. A transparent part is formed by doing this. A colored display portion C having an inverse image (inversion) pattern with respect to the pattern of the transparent portion is formed. In the embodiment of the present invention shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the transparent card base material 4 may be a single transparent center core sheet 6 such as polyvinyl chloride or the sheet 6.
A transparent or colored transparent oversheet 5.7 made of polyvinyl chloride or the like is laminated on both the front and back sides. Further, the base material 4 does not have to be completely transparent, and it is possible to use a material that is partially transparent including the area where the colored layer a is formed or the area. Further, it is possible to appropriately color display the four surfaces of the card base material other than the colored layer a formation area. Furthermore, a transparent protective film can be laminated on the entire surface of the card above the engraved colored Ha shown in FIG.

FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the method of the present invention, in which (a) a colored layer a is printed on an oversheet 5 having a transparent part constituting a card base material 4 which is entirely transparent and partially transparent; After forming, the sheet 5 is placed on the front and back sides of the center core sheet 6.
and 7 are superimposed, (b) they are laminated by heating and pressurizing, and the colored layer a and the oversheet 5 are flattened on the same surface <e. Next, (c) the colored layer a is cut to a depth that reaches the oversheet 5 of the lower transparent base material 4 or the oversheet and center core sheet 6 using the engraving needle blade of the autograver to form dots or nets. A colored display part C is formed in the transparent part of the pattern, and if necessary, (d) a transparent protective film is laminated on the entire surface of the colored display part (C) upper side J: Ricard. In this case, a colored layer a is formed on the oversheet 5 side using a card base material 4 in which an oversheet 5.7 is laminated in advance on the front and back sides of a center core sheet 6, and then the colored layer a and the sheet 5 are heated and pressurized. They may be flattened on the same surface and then engraved later.

(Effects of the Invention) The method of the present invention forms a colored display part C having fine dot-like or net-like transparent parts as a colored display of a design etc. displayed on a transparent area of a card base material. It is possible to see the opposite sides of the card through the colored display part, and different or the same design can be displayed on the front and back of the card. As described above, this method exhibits an excellent effect as a method for coloring various plastic cards with practical functions as well as decorative and tasteful functions.
