Abstract

PURPOSE:To discontinue the use of a collimator lens and to realize the miniaturization and light weight of an information reader by using a reflecting mirror having reflection plane shape which reflects a light beam that is diffused light and changes the light beam to parallel rays after reflection. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting mirror 1 is provided with the reflecting plane 1a to change the light beam to the parallel rays. Therefore, the light beam that is the diffused light emitted from a light source changes its direction in a direction of z-axis by the reflecting plane 1a of the reflecting mirror 1, and also, it is changed to parallel beams and is made incident on an objective lens 2, then, is converged on an information disk 3.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, optical pickup devices for information disks such as compact disks, that is, information reading devices, have been becoming much smaller and thinner. Therefore, the optical configuration of the light beam focusing device is such that the light beam emitted horizontally to the information disk 7 is directed perpendicularly to the information disk 7 by the reflecting mirror 6, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. It is common to take

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the conventional light beam focusing device converts a light beam, which is diffused light emitted from a light source such as a semiconductor laser, into a - degree parallel light using a collimating lens 4). The reflecting mirror 5 changes the direction perpendicular to the information disk 7, and the objective lens 6 converts the parallel light into a focused light.
It was focused on the recording surface of the information disk 7. At this time, a collimating lens 4 is installed after the reflecting mirror 6, and the light beam, which is diffused light, is directed to the information disk 7 by the reflecting mirror 6.
After changing the direction perpendicular to the collimating lens 4]
However, in the case of the conventional configuration as described above, the collimating lens 4 is either in front of or behind the reflecting mirror 6. This was an obstacle to miniaturization and thinning. Also,
The number of parts also increased due to the collimating lens.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the problems, in the present invention, the reflecting mirror has the properties of the collimating lens, that is, it corrects the light beam which is the diffused light beam, and at the same time corrects the parallel light beam. It changes the direction perpendicular to the information disc.

By using such a means, the present invention can eliminate the need for a collimating lens for converting a diffused light beam into parallel light, make the information reading device smaller and thinner, and reduce the number of optical components to one. This makes it possible to reduce
