In recent years, a simple facsimile device called a mini fax machine has been developed by the Telecommunications Corporation. This facsimile device has a different communication control sequence from international standard models such as conventional G and G machines.
Moreover, since communication was possible through a dedicated facsimile line in addition to the public telephone line, it was not possible to directly communicate with the G, G machines, etc. mentioned above.

Further, 8 is a terminal T on the telephone side of the switching means 6.
a first detection circuit connected to G;
When starting communication with a type of facsimile, a calling signal (16Hz) sent to the telephone via a public telephone line is detected.
Consists of a Hz signal extraction filter. On the other hand, 9 is a second detection circuit similarly connected to the terminal T, and is designed to detect a facsimile activation signal (1300Hz) sent via a dedicated facsimile line at the start of communication with the minifax. ,
This circuit is also configured as a 1300Hz signal extraction filter.

Furthermore, 10 is a control circuit consisting of a microcomputer that controls facsimile reception operations including facsimile communication procedure control and recording circuit 11 control, and this circuit is connected to the first and second detection circuits 8 and 9. When an output is obtained, the following control is performed. That is, when the output of the first detection circuit 8 is obtained, when the automatic/manual changeover switch 12 is switched to the automatic mode, the drive circuit 7 in the NCU 3 switches the switching means 6 from the terminal T on the telephone side to the facsimile side. The communication procedure is then controlled in the G mode shown in FIG. 2A. Furthermore, even if the changeover switch 12 is switched to either automatic or manual mode, when the output of the second detection circuit 9 is obtained, the changeover means 6 is similarly switched to the facsimile side F, and the subsequent communication procedure is performed. Control is performed in the minifax mode shown in FIG. 2B. At this time, sequences for controlling each procedure are programmed in a program ROM or the like within the control circuit 10, but since such points are already well known, detailed explanation will be omitted.

The operation of selectively connecting the connection terminal 2 to either a public telephone line or a dedicated facsimile line via the telephone drop-in line 1 is performed by a line exchange within each telephone office on the facsimile sending and receiving sides. . In other words, if the sender is using a minifax, by dialing "166" for minifax using the sender's phone and then dialing the receiver's phone number, a dedicated fax line will be established between the switchboards at each telephone office. It is connected. Of course, if the recipient's phone number is directly dialed without dialing "166", the line exchanges will be connected via the public telephone line.

Therefore, in a facsimile receiver configured as described above, if the control circuit 10 is switched to the automatic mode when starting communication with the G machine on the transmitting side, the transmitting side will not communicate with the G machine via the public telephone line. After the bell of telephone 4 rings in response to the calling signal (16Hz) transmitted by ) signals and GI (functional identification)
Communication procedure control such as signal transmission (see FIG. 2A) is performed. In addition, when starting communication with the mini-fax on the sending side, regardless of whether the control circuit 10 is in automatic or manual mode, the sending side sends a facsimile activation signal (1300
Hz) is transmitted, and the detection output of the second detection circuit 9 puts the automatic reception state in the mini fax mode, and after sending the CED signal, the communication procedure control waits for the reception of the phase signal from the transmitting side (see Figure 2 B). ) will be carried out. However, in this case, the activation signal (1300 Hz) is not detected by the telephone 4, so the bell of the telephone does not ring.

If the sending side is a minifax and you wish to receive it manually on the receiving side, enter “166” on the sending side.
Instead of dialing the number, you can directly dial the receiving side as described above and place a call to the receiving side's telephone.In this case, the switching means 6 in the NCU 3 is turned on by turning on the reception switch (not shown) of the receiver. As a result, the public telephone line connected to the facsimile side F is routed, the communication procedure control described above is performed, and communication with the mini-fax is started. The same applies to manual reception for G aircraft.

Also automatic for G machine and mini fax,
Needless to say, in either manual reception state, the control circuit 10 returns the switching means 6 to the telephone side T after transmitting an MCF (picture signal completion confirmation) signal after completion of reception.

As described above, according to the facsimile receiver of the present invention, it is possible to communicate with each of the different types of facsimile devices that use different communication lines, such as minifax and G machine (or G machine), and to communicate with each of them. It has the advantage of being able to perform automatic reception, and is highly effective.
