Abstract

PURPOSE:To make unnecessary the attaching and detaching of an optical head fixing member at the time of conveying a device by being equipped with a member for fixing an optical head to change the size of the direction vertical to tensile force or a compressing force at the clearance between the optical head and a base to mount the optical head. CONSTITUTION:When a cartridge 5 is not put in an optical disk device, a coil spring 3 between a head frame 6a of an optical head 6 and a base 1 pressurizes both the head frame 6a and the base 1 with a certain extent of an elastic force. Therefore, the optical head 6 is fixed. When the cartridge 5 is pushed into a holder 2, one edge of an arm 4 is pushed down by a holder 2, one edge of the coil spring 3 is fixed to the base 1, other edge is connected to the arm 14, and therefore, it is pulled in an X direction. Then, the pressurizing force added to the head frame 6a by the coil spring 3 is eliminated and the optical head can be moved in an X-X' direction. Thus, the attaching and detaching of the member for fixing the optical head at the time of conveying an optical disk device are made unnecessary.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the conventional optical disc device described above, a cushioning material is packed between the optical head and the base to prevent the optical head from swinging within the transport mechanism. There are disadvantages in that it is necessary to remove the cover of the optical disk device when attaching and removing the cushioning material, and the removed cushioning material may be lost and become unusable when the device needs to be transported again.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems of the conventional art. In an optical disk device in which an optical head is movable in the radial direction of an optical disk medium, the gap between the optical head and the base on which the optical head is mounted is flexible and when a tensile or compressive force is applied, a tensile or compressive force is applied. The structure includes an optical head fixing member whose magnitude changes in the direction perpendicular to the compressive force.

To explain the first embodiment, the optical disc device includes a base 1, a spindle motor 7 for mounting and rotating an optical disc medium, an optical head 6 for reading and recording information on the optical disc medium, and an optical disc device. A loading mechanism consisting of a holder 2, a holding plate 8, a guide 9, etc. for guiding a cartridge 5 containing an optical disk medium inserted from the outside into the optical disk device and placing the optical disk medium on a turntable 7a of a spindle motor 7. and an optical head fixing mechanism including an arm 4, a coil spring 3 as a fixing member, and a spring kite 10.

The optical head 6 is moved by an optical head transport mechanism so that recording and reproduction can be performed on each track on the optical disc medium.
It can be transported arbitrarily in the x' force direction, that is, it can be moved in the x-x' force direction.

Therefore, when the optical disk device is transported, the optical head 6 is moved in the X or X° force direction, and there is a risk of damaging the optical head 61 or the optical head transport mechanism. When the cartridge 5 is not inserted into the optical disc device, the coil spring 3 between the head frame 6a of the optical head 6 and the base 1 has a certain degree of elastic force and is attached to the head frame 6a.

When the cartridge 5 is pushed into the holder 2 in order to perform a recording/reproducing operation on an optical disc medium, the loading mechanism moves the holder 2 from the position drawn by the dashed line in FIG. 2 to the position drawn by the solid line. Since the coil spring 3 has one end fixed to the base 1 and the other end attached to the arm 4, it is pulled in the X direction by the movement of the arm 4 in the Z direction. At this time, since the coil spring 3 is restrained from moving in the Y-Y' direction by the spring guide 10, it will not float up in the Y° force direction. The coil spring 3 to which a tensile force is applied changes its magnitude in the direction perpendicular to the tensile force, reducing its coil diameter, so that the coil spring 3
A gap is created between the head frame 6a and the head frame 6a.

Then, the pressing force applied to the head frame 6a by the coil spring 3 disappears, and the optical head becomes movable in the x-x' force direction.

One end of the coil spring 3 is fixed to the base, and the other end is attached to the arm 12. When the cartridge 5 is not in the optical disk device, the coil spring 3 located between the head frame 6a and the base of the optical head 6 presses both the head frame 6a and the base 1 with a certain degree of elastic force. Therefore, the optical head 6 is fixed. When the cartridge 5 is inserted into the holder 2 in order to perform a recording/reproduction operation on an optical disc medium, the cartridge 5 hits the bushing plate 11 .

When the cartridge 5 is further pushed in, the bushing plate 11 moves in the X direction. Since the arm 12 is engaged with the claw 11a of the bushing plate 11, as the bushing plate 11 moves in the X direction, it rotates in the W direction about the fulcrum 12a. Accordingly, coil spring 3

Therefore, a gap is created between the coil spring 3 and the head frame 6a, the pressing force applied to the head frame 6a by the coil spring 3 is eliminated, and the optical head becomes movable in the x-x' force direction.

In each of the above embodiments, the coil spring 3 is used as the fixing member for the optical head, but this is not limited to this.If a tension or compression force is applied to a bellows or other flexible spring, the coil spring 3 A device whose size in the vertical direction changes can be used.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the optical disc device of the present invention has a space between an optical head and a base on which the optical head is mounted.
Since it has an optical head fixing member that is expandable and retractable and changes its size in the direction perpendicular to the tensile or compressive force when a tensile or compressive force is applied, when the cartridge is not in the optical disk device. The optical head is fixed because the fixing member is sandwiched between the optical head and the base, and the gap between the optical head and the fixing member is created by pulling the fixing member and narrowing its shape during recording and playback. The optical head can be easily fixed with a small number of members by causing the optical head to release the fixation of the optical head.

従って固定用部材が光学ヘッドの全移動範囲にわたって

Therefore, if the length of the fixing member is set over the entire range of movement of the optical head, it can function no matter where the optical head is located within the range of movement.

また、光ディスク装置運搬時の光学ヘッド固定用部材の

Furthermore, there is no need to attach or detach the optical head fixing member during transportation of the optical disk device, and there is an effect that the labor of packing or packaging work is also saved.
