Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform high speed recording by providing valves to both of an ink supply tank always held under supply pressure and an ink supply tube and controlling the opening and closing of the valves on the basis of the count value of the number of jet ink droplets. CONSTITUTION:The ink stored in an ink supply tank 3 composed of a flexible outer skin is supplied to a printing head 1 through an ink supply tube 2 and a solenoid valve 6. A weight 4 is placed on the ink supply tank 3 to make the pressure in the ink supply tank sufficiently higher than atmospheric pressure. A control part 5 calculates the amount of ink to be supplied on the basis of the jet droplet count value obtained from a jet droplet count means and controls the opening and closing of the solenoid valve 6. The ink is forcibly supplied to the printing head 1 by the pressure preliminarily applied to the ink supply tank 3 by opening the solenoid valve 6. The jet droplet count means is easily realized by the microprocessor used in the control of a usual printer.
