The protrusion provided on the projection lens 6 covers the surface of the CRT 1 side of the portion of the projection lens 6 other than the effective image height. A portion 9 of the protrusion 8 on the CRT 1 side and a portion 1o of the inner surface of the CRT heat dissipation radiator 2 are blackened to prevent light absorption. Further, 11 is a convex lens for projection, and 12 is a lens barrel for holding it.
