PURPOSE:To facilitate width change of a casting machine by forming mold space with caterpillar type upper and lower mold and arranging the caterpillar type side dam composing of plural blocks as shiftable toward width direction. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 15 is arranged as shiftable toward width direction of a cast slab with a hydraulic pressing cylinder 14 at both side of width direction of the mold 2 composing plural block molds 1. The side dam 19 connecting the plural side dam blocks 18 as the caterpillar-state is arranged on the carriage 15. The block 18 is supported to a horizontal roller 20 and shifted by guiding to guide groove 21 through guide rollers 23. At the time of changing the width of the cast slab, the carriage 15 is shifted toward width direction of the cast slab with the cylinder 14 to execute change of the position in the mold space of the blocks 18. By this method, as the change of the width in the casting machine is executed with the shifting of the carriage 15, it is facilitated.

の竪向きガイドローラ23を回転自在に取付け、該竪向
きガイドローラ23を前記ガイド板22のガイド溝21
