Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which is easy to work and is stronger with respect to structure by making a cut of a supporting member, which is formed for relief of a winding, larger on the side of the junction surface to a head chip and smaller on the opposite side and connecting both sides with a slope. CONSTITUTION:Though a head chip 1 and a supporting member 3 joined to one surface of the head chip are conventional those, a junction surface 5 of a supporting member 2 joined to the other surface of the head chip 1 is H- shaped and a reinforcing part 6 in the middle of the H-shaped part has relief groove 7 which is deeply cut on the side of the junction surface 5 and is shallowly cut on the opposite side so that the reinforcing part 6 has an approximately triangular section. Consequently, the bottom of the relief groove 7 constitutes a slope 7a, and this slope 7a is guide for relief of a winding 4. Thus, a large space for the winding is taken in the junction part between the head chip and the supporting member and the relief structure is easily worked, and a sufficient junction area is obtained to obtain the magnetic head having a high junction strength.

Conventionally, a magnetic head consists of a head chip around which a winding wire is wound, and a support member (generally called a slider or reinforcing member) that is connected to this head chip and supports the head chip.
It consists of

FIG. 5 shows the appearance of such a conventional magnetic head. A head chip 1 around which a winding wire 4 is wound is plate-shaped, and a magnetic gap 1a is formed on one end surface of the head chip 1. A support member 2.3 is joined to both sides of the head chip 1, and the support member 2.3 and the end face of the head chip 1 constitute a sliding surface.

FIGS. 6(a) and 6(b) show an example of one support member of the magnetic head having a cross-sectional shape. In the type (a), the bonding surface 5 to the head chip 1 is a simple long rectangular shape. However, it has the disadvantage that it is small and does not provide sufficient bonding strength. Type (b) has a reinforcement part 6 in the center of the L-shaped structure.
is provided to make the joint surface 5 T-shaped, which is preferable compared to type (a) in terms of joint strength and reinforcement of the head chip 1, but the method of machining the escape groove 7 of the winding 4 is limited, Furthermore, the machining itself is difficult, and the support member 2 becomes structurally weak due to the presence of the escape groove 7.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a structurally stronger magnetic head by solving the drawbacks of conventional support members, such as having a small bonding area or increasing the bonding area, which makes processing difficult.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention makes the notch in the support member formed for escape of the winding wire larger on the side where it joins the head chip and smaller on the opposite side, and an inclined surface is formed between both sides. This allows the joint surface to be large, such as a T-shape or an H-shape, and this joint area is integrated with the support member by the middle part with a substantially triangular cross section, so that the support member is structurally strong and easy to mold.

The head chip l and the support member 3 bonded to one surface of the head chip 1 are similar to those of the conventional example, but the support member 2 bonded to the other surface of the head chip l is The reinforcing part 6 in the middle of the H-shaped part has a substantially triangular cross-sectional shape, and has an escape groove 7 that is deep on the side of the joint surface 5 and shallow on the side opposite to the joint surface. have. Therefore, the bottom surface of the escape groove 7 constitutes an inclined surface 7a, and this inclined surface 7a serves as an escape guide for winding &I4.

2.3 shows a modified shape of the support member 2. In the example shown in FIG. 2, the joining surface 5 is T-shaped and the relief part of the winding is not a groove shape, but the reinforced part of the support member 2 The cross section (horizontal cross section) of 6 is approximately triangular, and the inclined surface 7a serves as a guide for winding escape. The example shown in FIG. 3 uses a support member 2 having an H-shaped joint surface 5 like the embodiment shown in FIG. It differs from the embodiment of FIG. 1 in that it is guided from the side.

FIG. 4 shows an example of a magnetic head in which the support member 2 is used not as a slider but simply as a reinforcing member for the head chip 1. In this case, a notch 9 having an inclined surface 9a as shown in the figure may be formed in the shoulder portion of the support member 2, and the joining surface of the support member 2 to the head chip 1 will be approximately T-shaped.

As described above, in the present invention, the escape of the winding wire is guided by the inclined surface formed on the support member. The relief structure can be easily processed, and a magnetic head with a sufficient bonding area and high bonding strength can be obtained.
