Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the filter for regenerating edible oil by kneading the mixture of 10-90wt.% pulp and 90-10wt.% activated carbon and activated clay with water and carrying out forming and drying. CONSTITUTION:The filter is made in such a way that 90-10wt.% mixture consisting of 95-50wt.% activated carbon and 50-5wt.% activated clay is mixed with 10-90wt.% pulp and is added with water and kneaded and then pressed to form a plate shape. It may also be made in such a way that the upper layer consisting of activated clay and pulp and the lower layer consisting of activated carbon and pulp are laminated each other into a two layer body. In this case, the ratio of activated carbon and activated clay is to be selected to be in the above-mentioned ratio. When an edible oil is regenerated by using this filter, the regenerated oil of the same clearness as that of new one and of rare smell is obtained.

(Problems to be Solved) As a result of research into various adsorbents in order to develop regenerated filter materials or filters that do not leave behind fish odor, which was previously difficult to remove, the present inventors discovered that a combination or mixture of powdered activated clay and activated carbon. We obtained knowledge that it is effective.
