Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the usable voltage range of a power source to about half of the rated voltage in battery use and to meet the requirement of 2000hr or more for lighting life by charging gas into a lamp at the pressure of 5-15Torr, in a fluorescent lamp which lights at 100mA or less for lamp current or at 4W or less for lamp power by an electronic lighting circuit which preheats a filament at all times during lighting. CONSTITUTION:This is a fluorescent lamp which lights at 100mA or less for lamp current or 4W or less for lamp power, and is charged in the lamp at the pressure of 5Torr to 15Torr and it is combined with an electronic lighting circuit which preheats a filament at all times. Hereby, life of 200hr or more can be realized at about half the rated voltage of a battery, so the lamp can be used within the wide input voltage. For example, pure argon is used as lamp charging gas, and within the range of 5-15Torr, the requirements of 2000hr or more for life and 4V or less for light starting voltage are met.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a fluorescent lamp used in a wide voltage range,
In particular, the present invention relates to a structure of a fluorescent lamp suitable for lighting using a battery as a power source.

C. Conventional technology] Conventionally, regarding the pressure of gas filled in a lamp, for example, 1.
In the case of an instant lighting system, such as No. 4-138477, the lifetime was ensured by setting the filled gas pressure in the range of 5 to 15 Torr.

The above conventional technology does not take into consideration the case where the power supply voltage range is large, such as when a battery is used as the power source. In particular, at a voltage half the rated voltage, the lamp current decreases, so heat from the electrodes during lighting is generated. Not enough electrons can be emitted and the lamp will not light up. However, when lighting a lamp with dry batteries, the lamp current is limited to less than 100 mA or the lamp power is less than 4 W. If the lamp is used under such conditions, it must be preheated at all times during lighting to raise the temperature of the filament and keep the electrodes warm. It is known that unless the thermionic emission from the lamp is improved, continuous lighting will be difficult and the lamp life will be disadvantageous.

The object of the present invention is that the voltage range of the power supply can be used up to about half of the rated voltage when using batteries, and the lighting life is 2000.
The goal is to satisfy more than hr.

The above purpose is to increase the gas pressure inside the lamp from 5 Torr to 1 Torr.
This is achieved in combination with an electronic lighting circuit that encapsulates the filament in the range of 5 Torr and constantly preheats the filament.

When using argon gas (Ar) as the filler gas, if the filler Ar pressure is 15 Torr or less, the lamp can be lit without increasing the starting voltage that much, and in terms of lamp efficiency, the Ar filler pressure cannot be increased that much. cannot,
The limit is 15 Torr. In addition, the enclosed Ar pressure was 5 T.
If it is at least orr, the lighting life can be increased to an average of 2000 hours or more.
