In recent years, various so-called balloon catheters in which an inflatable and deflated balloon is fixed to the tip of the catheter have been proposed. Such catheters are made by covering the tip of a pipe made of silicone, polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, polyurethane, soft PVC, etc. with a balloon, and tightening a thread such as spandex to the pipe via the balloon to attach the balloon to the tip of the pipe. There is.

However, since the pipe tip of the conventional catheter is straight, when tightening the thread to the pipe via the balloon, the balloon often comes off from the pipe, and a decrease in work efficiency is unavoidable. Furthermore, there is a risk that the balloon may come off when the catheter is inserted into a blood vessel, so it cannot be called a practical catheter.

The inventors of the present invention have arrived at the present invention as a result of intensive studies aimed at providing a balloon catheter that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks of conventional balloon catheters. That is, the present invention is a balloon catheter characterized in that a balloon is mounted on the open end of a pipe having a protruding body on the outer wall of the open end, and a filamentous body is tightened to the pipe via the balloon.

A feature of the balloon catheter of the present invention is that a protrusion for preventing the balloon from sticking is formed on the outer wall of the pipe tip. Due to these features, it has become possible for the first time to provide a practical balloon catheter in which the balloon never comes off during use and is easy to manufacture.

The protrusions formed on the outer wall at the tip of the pipe can have various shapes, and may be provided in a ring shape or in an intermittent manner on the outer wall. The shape is preferably such that the filamentous body tightened to the pipe via the balloon sinks into the protruding body because the balloon is difficult to come off and workability is good. For example, if the material of the pipe is a thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene, nylon, or polypropylene, the above-mentioned protrusion can be formed by heating the pipe tip with an alcohol lamp or an electric heater to form a hemispherical protrusion on the outer wall of the pipe tip. can do. Furthermore, in the case of a silicone pipe, an epoxy resin, a silicone resin, a cyanoacrylate resin, or the like can be bonded to the tip of the pipe to form a protrusion. Conventionally used spandex thread, silk thread, etc. can be used as the thread-like body for attaching the balloon to the pipe, which is tightened to the tip of the pipe via the balloon.

Next, an embodiment of the balloon catheter of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows an example in which the tip of a thermoplastic resin pipe 1 made of polyethylene or the like is brought close to an electric heater, and a semicircular protrusion 2 is formed at the tip to prevent clogging, and a balloon 3 is formed at the tip of the pipe. The thread-like body 4 is fastened to the pipe 1 via the balloon 3. FIG. 2 shows another example of a protrusion provided at the tip of a pipe, in which a protrusion 2 is formed by bonding silicone adhesive in a semicircular shape to the outer periphery of the tip of the silicon pipe 1. Further, in FIG. 3, protrusions 2 of various shapes are formed by heating the tip of the pipe 1 and then pressing two molds formed into predetermined shapes. In particular, the shape of the protrusion shown in FIG. 3 is preferable because the filament is embedded in the protrusion so that the balloon does not come off the pipe.

As described above, the balloon catheter of the present invention has better workability than conventional balloon catheters by providing a protruding body on the outer wall of the tip end of the pipe to prevent the filament from sticking, and the balloon does not come off the pipe during actual treatment. It is highly safe and extremely useful in practice.

Example: When the tip of a low-density polyethylene made by Imamura Rubber Co., Ltd. with an inner diameter of 0.3 mm and an outer diameter of 0.6 mm is brought close to about 1 cm near a 100 V, 60 W soldering iron, the pipe will become clogged in about 20 seconds. The outer diameter is approximately 8 as shown in Figure 1.
A hemispherical protrusion of mm size is formed. After the tip of the polyethylene pipe prepared by this method was covered with a balloon, the balloon was stretched out, the tip of the balloon and the open end were fixed with tape, and a spandex thread was tightened near the protrusion. In the past, the balloon and polyethylene pipe often came off after the above-mentioned work, but in the case of the present invention, they never came off. In addition, when we injected water into the balloon of the completed catheter using a syringe and inflated the balloon to a diameter of 15 mm, we found that at least 3 out of 10 of the conventional catheters
However, with the balloon catheter of the present invention, the balloon did not come off.
