れ防止が確実である反面、オーバーロツクミシン
による縫製作業のほかに閂止めミシンによる縫製
作業、更には止め縫い部に残存する空環の切断作
業等と多くの工程が必要である。こうした複雑な
作業を簡素化するために縫い始め端に連なる空環
を布への縫着開始とともに縫い目中に縫い込んで
いくことにより縫い始め部のほつれ防止を行うよ
うにした空環縫い込み装置が提供されている。こ
の装置は第1A〜C図に示すごとく針孔aの送り
方向手前に切断刃bを内蔵し、かつ該切断刃によ
つて切断された空環をそのまゝ押圧保持する空環
保持器cを設けてなるもので、空環を保持器cで
保持した状態で新たな布をミシンに送り、ミシン
を駆動させると、布への縫製開始に先立つて爪d
上に形成される空環eは布送りによる押出作用を
受け爪先から外れようとしても一端が上記保持器
cによる押圧力を受けているため爪から外れるこ
となく布の移動に伴つて結果的に布裏側に入り込
み、縫い目中に縫い込まれていくことゝなる。こ
の間、保持器cで押圧保持される空環は保持器下
で少しづつ移動していき、ついには保持器より離
れるのであるが、従来の装置は空環を縫製開始後
暫時保持するのみで、その保持区間については全
く考慮していないため布fが例えば針孔aに達し
た状態(第1B図参照)で空環端が保持器cより
離れてしまうと、以後縫製の進行により布が爪上
の空環を押出していき、第1c図に示すように空
環が布の縫い始め端より外方にはみ出した状態と
なつてしまい製品価値を損なつていた。

長手方向には割り溝端により、上下方向には基台
1につき当たらせることによつて行う。基台1上
にはまた空環保持器8がピン9により軸支され、
ピン9の基台よりの突出端部にはバネ10を嵌装
したのちナツト11が螺着される。空環保持器8
は常態においてはメス保持器3並びにクロスプレ
ート上に下面を当接部として上下動できるように
弾接されるのであるが(第3〜5図参照)、その
押圧力の調整はナツト11を回動することによつ
て行う。なお空環保持器8先端はクロスプレート
との間に空環を挿入し易いように傾斜状に形成す
るのが好ましい。14はメス保持器3上に突出す
るメス6を受入れるため空環保持器の内側に形成
されるメス溝であり、15は針板、16は爪であ
る。また第3〜5図において17はクロスプレー
ト、18は針孔、19は布を示す。
