Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep shrinkage of sheets, which develops at welding, to minimum by developing the shrinkage only in the clearances, with which jigs are mounted at both sides of a heating element by a method wherein pulse waves are applied across fluoroplastic sheets, each of which is brought into contact with the heating element and the jig mounted on one of both the sides of the heating element with said clearance and pressurized. CONSTITUTION:Jigs (plates or cushioning) are mounted with the clearances of several millimeters on both sides of a heating element and at the height same as that of the heating element to a supporting stand, on which the heating element is installed. The supporting stand equipped with the heating element and the jigs is served as a welding electrode part. Pulse waves are applied across fluoroplastic sheets, which are brought into contact with the welding electrode part and pressurized. Though the fluoroplastic sheets weld together by melting, the shrinkage developed at welding does not spread outside the jigs due to the jigs assembled in the welding electrode part or concretely the shrinkage develops in the clearances of several millimeters made between the heating element and the respective jigs.

(b) Conventional technology When fluororesin sheets are melted and welded due to the characteristics of the resin, a wide curvature occurs at the edge of the welded surface, and the curvature spreads as a flare, causing the product to be twisted and having no value as a product. 6. With current technology, no method has been found to remove this shrinkage. Therefore, a method of applying heat and tension to products with wrinkles or welded sheets is used to smooth out the wrinkles.

(d) Means for Solving the Problems The present invention has succeeded in minimizing the shrinkage that occurs during welding. The method is explained as follows: 1. Attach a jig (plate, cushion) to the holding table on which the heating element is mounted, with a distance of a few inches on the side of the heating element, and a jig (plate, cushion) of the same height as the heating element.

2. A holding table with a heating element and a jig is used as a welding electrode, and a fluororesin sheet is brought into contact with the welding electrode, and a pressure pulse wave is applied.

3. Fluororesin sheets are melted and welded, but due to the jig incorporated as the welding electrode part, the shrinkage that occurs during welding does not spread beyond the jig, and is kept within the distance between the heating element and the jig. Shrinking happens.

Shrinking occurs only within the distance from the jig and does not spread beyond the jig, so the shrinkage does not spread over a wide area, the product is less twisted, the product value is increased, there is no need for double pressing, and costs are reduced. has also become lower.

The fluororesin sheet is brought into contact with the heating element and a jig (plate, cushion) of the same height as the heating element, which is installed with a gap on both sides of the heating element, pressure is applied, and pulsed waves are applied. A processing method that causes the shrinkage that appears at the end of the heating element to occur within the space between the heat generating element and the jig, and prevents the shrinkage from spreading over a wide area.
