Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent spatter from penetrating into gas outflow path and to improve welding efficiency by storing many ceramic balls in the gas outflow path between a nozzle cylinder and a contact chip via a ring for stopping coming-out of the balls. CONSTITUTION:Many ceramic balls 8 are stored in the gas outflow path 7 formed on a gap between the nozzle cylinder 5 of a torch nozzle 1 and the contact chip 4. At this time, a broken circular ring 10 of a spring steel wire is fitted to an inside peripheral groove 9 of the tip part of the nozzle 1 and the ceramic balls 8 are stopped from coming out. Since the ceramic balls 8 are stored in the gas outflow path 7 in the nozzle cylinder 5, the spatters are prevented from penetrating thereinto by an arc and the gas outflow is maintained via gaps among the balls 8. By this method, the spatters are perfectly prevented from penetrating into the gas outflow path and the welding interruption is prevented and the welding efficiency is improved.

(b) Conventional technology Conventional general gas shield! A cross-sectional view of the torch nozzle of a consumable electrode type arc welding machine is shown in Fig. 2. A conductor tip holder 3 from the torch body connected to the conduit tube 2 of the torch nozzle 1 and a contact tip 4 screwed into the tip thereof are covered with a nozzle tube 5. The contact tip 4 has a wire guide hole 6 in its center through which a welding wire (not shown) is passed, and guides the wire and supplies power to the wire. The gap between the contact tip 4 and the nozzle tube 5 is used as a shielding gas outflow path 7, and during welding, shielding gas (currently, inexpensive carbon dioxide gas is mainly used instead of inert gas) is passed from the gas outflow path 7. ) covers the electrode (the above-mentioned welding wire) and the arc from it to the weld metal.

(c) Problems to be solved by the invention In gas shield arc welding, welding is performed in an atmosphere of shielding gas as described above, which blocks the atmosphere from the arc and the welding area, and prevents harmful elements in the atmosphere from being removed from the deposited metal. However, spatter scattered by the arc of the welding wire and weld metal during welding enters the gas outlet path 7. When this spatter accumulates, electrical continuity occurs between the contact tip 4 and the nozzle tube 5, and when the nozzle tube 5 approaches the welding base, a short circuit occurs and welding becomes impossible. In this state, it is not possible to make the gas outlet passage 7 that large.
This occurs quite frequently, and the nozzle tube 5 must be removed and cleaned each time. This phenomenon is particularly severe in upward welding, etc., to the point where it is almost impossible to do the work.

(E) Example An example of the torch nozzle for gas shielded arc welding according to the present invention is shown in FIG. 1 as an improved version of the conventional nozzle shown in FIG. 3 above. FIG. 1 shows a cutaway view of the nozzle tube 5, and the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 3 indicate the same parts. A large number of ceramic balls 8 are placed in the gas outlet passage 7 in the gap between the nozzle tube 5 and the contact tip 4, and an inner circumferential groove 9 is provided at the tip of the inner surface of the nozzle tube 5, as shown in FIG. A circular ring 10 made of ceramic is fitted to prevent the ceramic ball 8 from being removed.

That is, a large number of ceramic balls 8 are housed within the gas outlet passage 7 in the nozzle cylinder 5 between the threaded portion 11 of the contact tip 4 into the tip holder 3 and the circular ring 10.

With this configuration, since the ball is housed in the gas outlet passage 7 of the nozzle tube 5, there is sufficient clearance for the gas to flow out, and since the ball is made of ceramic, it does not make contact with the nozzle tube 5. There is no risk of short circuit with chip 4.

(f) Effects of the Invention According to the torch nozzle for gas shielded arc welding according to the present invention, since the ceramic ball is housed in the gas outlet passage in the nozzle cylinder as described above, the welding rod (wireless wire) is used during welding. ) and spatter from the arc of weld metal entering the gas outlet path and making welding impossible, is completely prevented, and the handling of the ball prevents spatter from adhering to the front of the stopper ceramic ring. Since it is the opening of the nozzle tube, it can be easily removed and will not interfere with the work.
