Description

This disclosure relates to a hook device and a console box.

Conventionally, a console box installed in the interior of a vehicle includes a box body that opens upward and a lid that serves as an opening and closing body for opening and closing the opening of the box body. It is known that a locking device is used for the console box to lock the lid to the box body in a closed state. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a locking device that prevents the lid from being pried open.

The hanging device disclosed in Patent Document 1 comprises a recess provided in the box body, and a hanging claw (retaining claw) that hooks onto the recess when the lid is closed. The hanging claw is constantly biased by a coil spring in the direction in which it hooks onto the recess. The recess and the hanging claw are configured to bite into each other when a force in the direction in which the lid is opened is applied to the hanging claw. As a result, with this hanging device, even if an excessive load is applied to the lid in the opening direction, the binding force between the hanging claw and the recess increases, and the hook claw does not release its engagement with the recess.

In a console box such as that of Patent Document 1, when the lid is closed, the user cannot see the latching claw of the latching device, so the user may try to open the lid without releasing the state in which the latching claw is engaged with the recess (locked state). If the amount of engagement of the latching claw with the recess is greater than the normal amount of engagement intended by the design due to dimensional variations during molding or deformation such as shrinkage caused by temperature changes during use, when an excessive load is applied to the latching claw to forcibly open the lid, the latching claw will not be released from the recess, and the latched portion of the latching claw or the recess on which the latching claw is hooked may be destroyed, which may result in damage to the latching device.

The purpose of the technology disclosed herein is to prevent damage to the latching device.

To achieve the above objective, the technology disclosed herein is designed to semi-release the hooking of the hooking claw on the hooked part when the hooking amount of the hooking claw on the hooked part is greater than the normal hooking amount.

Specifically, the first aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a hooking device that hooks an opening/closing body that opens and closes an opening of a box body to a box body in a closed state. The hooking device according to the first aspect includes a hooked part provided on the box body and a hooking claw provided on the opening/closing body. The hooking claw can be displaced between a locked position where it hooks onto the hooked part and a released position where it is released from hooking onto the hooked part by a swinging action around a predetermined axis, and is constantly biased toward the locked position. One of the hooked part and the hooking claw is provided with an abutment part that abuts against the other when the hooking claw is in the locked position and puts the hooking of the hooking claw into a semi-released state when the hooking amount of the hooking claw on the hooked part is greater than the normal amount of hooking.

A second aspect of the present disclosure is a hooking device according to the first aspect, in which the abutting portion is provided on the rear side of the hooked portion, where the tip of the hooking claw faces the hooked surface on which the hooking claw is hooked with the normal amount of hooking. The abutting portion has an abutment surface against which the hooking claw abuts when the hooking claw is in a semi-released state. The abutment surface extends toward the rear side of the hooked portion in the direction facing the hooked surface.

The third aspect of the present disclosure is a hooking device according to the first aspect, in which the abutment portion is provided on the claw base side relative to the hooking surface of the hooking claw that hooks onto the hooked portion with the normal amount of hooking. The abutment portion has an abutment surface that abuts against the hooked portion when the hooked portion is in a semi-released state. The abutment surface extends toward the claw base side of the hooking claw in the direction facing the hooking surface.

The fourth aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a console box. The console box according to the fourth aspect comprises a box body that opens upward, a lid that opens and closes the opening of the box body, and a hooking device that hooks the lid to the box body when the lid is closed. The hooking device is any one of the hooking devices according to the first to third aspects.

According to the first aspect of the hooking device, when the hooking claw is hooked to a larger amount than the normal amount, the abutment portion on one of the hooked portion and the hooking claw abuts against the other, causing the hooking claw to enter a semi-released state. In the semi-released state, the hooking claw is easily released from the hooked portion when an excessive load is applied to the opening/closing body in the opening direction. This makes it possible to prevent damage to the hooking device.

According to the second aspect of the hooking device, the abutment surface of the abutting portion against which the hooking claw abuts extends toward the back of the hooked portion in the direction facing the hooked surface of the hooked portion. As a result, the hooking claw inclines to a position with a larger angle difference from the position that results in the normal amount of hooking as the hooking claw hooks on the hooked portion become larger than the normal amount of hooking. The greater the degree of inclination of the hooking claw, the smaller the load in the direction of opening the opening/closing body that is required to release the hooking of the hooking claw. The degree of inclination of the hooking claw can be adjusted by the angle of the abutment surface relative to the hooked surface. Therefore, depending on the design of the angle of the abutment surface relative to the hooked surface, when the amount of hooking of the hooking claw becomes larger than the normal amount of hooking, the opening of the opening/closing body can be appropriately restricted by the hooking claw in the semi-released state, regardless of the difference from the normal amount of hooking.

According to the third aspect of the hooking device, the abutment surface of the abutting portion against which the hooked portion abuts extends toward the base of the hooking claw in the direction facing the hooking surface. As a result, the hooking claw is inclined to a position with a larger angle difference from the position that results in the normal amount of hooking as the amount of hooking of the hooking claw with respect to the hooked portion becomes larger than the normal amount of hooking. The greater the degree of inclination of the hooking claw, the smaller the load in the direction to open the opening/closing body that is required to release the hooking of the hooking claw. The degree of inclination of the hooking claw can be adjusted by the angle of the abutment surface relative to the hooking surface. Therefore, depending on the design of the angle of the abutment surface relative to the hooking surface, when the amount of hooking of the hooking claw becomes larger than the normal amount of hooking, the opening of the opening/closing body can be appropriately restricted by the hooking claw in the semi-released state, regardless of the difference from the normal amount of hooking.

The fourth aspect of the console box prevents damage to the latching device even if an excessive load is applied to the lid in the opening direction when the amount of engagement of the latching claw with the latched portion becomes greater than the normal amount of engagement.

The hook claw 36 has an arm 37 that extends from the swing shaft portion 34, and a hook portion 38 that protrudes rearward from the tip of the arm 37. The latch member 33 swings around the shaft body 32.

The hook claw 36 can be displaced by its pivoting motion around the shaft 32 between a locked position (position shown by a solid line in FIG. 2) where it hooks onto the hooked portion 15, and a released position (position shown by a dashed line in FIG. 2) where it is released from hooking onto the hooked portion 15. The hook claw 36 is constantly biased toward the locked position by a well-known biasing means (not shown). For example, a torsion spring is used as the biasing means. When a torsion spring is used, one end of the torsion spring is fixed to the side wall 25b, and the other end is fixed to the latch member 33.

When the lid 20 is closed and the lever 35 is not operated, the hook claw 36 is in the locked position and is inserted into the hook recess 14 and hooked on the hooked portion 15. When the hook claw 36 is in the locked position, the user is prevented from opening the lid 20. When the lever 35 is pulled upward, the latch member 33 swings, and the hook claw 36 is in the released position, coming out of the hook recess 14 and not hooked on the hooked portion 15. When the hook claw 36 is in the released position, the user can open the lid 20.

When the lid 20 is in the locked position with the lid closed, the hook surface 39 of the hooking claw 36 (claw portion 38) that hooks onto the hooked portion 15 faces the hooked surface 16 of the hooked portion 15 to which the hooking claw 36 hooks in the vertical direction. At this time, the hook surface 39 and the hooked surface 16 extend in a substantially horizontal direction. The amount of hooking of the hooking claw 36 onto the hooked portion 15 varies due to dimensional variations during molding and deformation such as shrinkage due to temperature changes in the vehicle interior. In this example, the amount of hooking of the hooking claw 36 onto the hooked portion 15 refers to the area of the hook surface 39 and the hooked surface 16 that face each other.

Figure 4A illustrates the state in which the hooking claws 36 are engaged at the minimum hooking amount. Figure 4B illustrates the state in which the hooking claws 36 are engaged at the normal hooking amount. Figure 4C illustrates the state in which the hooking claws 36 are engaged at the maximum hooking amount. Figure 5A illustrates the main parts of the console box 1 when the hooking amount of the hooking claws 36 is greater than the normal hooking amount and the lid 20 is in a closed state. Figure 5B illustrates the main parts of the console box 1 when the hooking amount of the hooking claws 36 is greater than the normal hooking amount and an excessive load is applied in the opening direction to the lid 20.

The amount of engagement of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is set, taking into account the above-mentioned variations, so that even when the minimum amount of engagement is reached as shown in FIG. 4A, the opening of the lid 20 due to the hooking of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is restricted. In other words, the minimum amount of engagement that should be ensured as the amount of engagement of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is used as a standard, and the change in the amount of engagement that may occur due to the above-mentioned variations is taken into account, and the normal amount of engagement (nominal value) that is the design aim is set as shown in FIG. 4B.

As shown in FIG. 3, the hooked portion 15 is provided with a plurality of abutment ribs 41. Each abutment rib 41 is an example of an abutment portion. The abutment ribs 41 are arranged at intervals from one another in the left-right direction. Each abutment rib 41 is a small plate-like object that is triangular in side view with its plate surface facing the left-right direction. Each abutment rib 41 is located on the rear side of the hooked portion 15 where the tip of the hooking claw 36 faces the hooked surface 16 on which the hooking claw 36 is hooked with the correct amount of hooking, and is formed integrally with the upper wall 14a (hooked portion 15) and the rear wall 14d of the hooking recess 14.

Figure 9 shows the main part of the latching device 30 of the comparative example. As shown in Figure 9, if the abutment rib 41 is not provided on the latched part 15, when the amount of engagement of the latching claw 36 on the latched part 15 becomes larger than the normal amount of engagement, for example, when the amount of engagement is at its maximum, and the hooking surface 39 and the latched surface 16 are facing each other, there is a risk that the latching claw 36 and the latched part 15 will be destroyed if an excessive load is applied to the lid 20 in the opening direction when an attempt is made to open the lid 20 without releasing the state in which the latching claw 36 is engaged with the latched part 15 (locked state) (the broken part when the latched part 15 breaks is shown by a zigzag line in Figure 9).

As shown in FIG. 4C, if the amount of engagement of the hooking claw 36 with the hooked portion 15 is greater than the normal amount of engagement, when the hooking claw 36 is in the locked position, the hooking claw 36 rides up onto each abutment rib 41, and each abutment rib 41 abuts against the hooking claw 36. This semi-releases the engagement of the hooking claw 36 with the hooked portion 15. Each abutment rib 41 has an abutment surface 42 against which the hooking claw 36 abuts when in the semi-released state. The abutment surface 42 is a flat inclined surface that is inclined in the up-down and front-to-rear directions and faces downward toward the front. The abutment surface 42 extends toward the back (rear) of the hooked portion 15 in the direction (downward) toward the hooked surface 16.

When the hook 36 hits against such abutment surface 42, as shown in FIG. 5A, the latch member 33 inclines toward the release position with respect to the position where the hook 36 is normally hooked. The greater the hook amount of the hook 36 on the hooked portion 15, the greater the angle difference between the latch member 33 and the normal hook position. When the hook 36 is in a semi-released state with respect to the hooked portion 15, if the lid 20 is pulled up without releasing the lock, the hook surface 39 of the hook 36 hits the front end of the hooked portion 15. If the force pulling up the lid 20 at this time is equal to or greater than a predetermined load, the force pulling up the lid 20 acts, and the latch member 33 swings so that the hook 36 is displaced toward the release position as shown in FIG. 5B. This releases the hook 36 from the hooked portion 15, and the lid 20 can be opened.

-Features of the first embodiment-
According to the hooking device 30 of the first embodiment, when the hooking amount of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is larger than the normal hooking amount, the abutment rib 41 provided on the hooked portion 15 abuts against the hooking claw 36, causing the hooking claw 36 to enter a semi-released state. In the semi-released state, when an excessive load is applied to the lid 20 in the opening direction, the hooking claw 36 is likely to be released from the hooked portion 15. This makes it possible to prevent the hooking device 30 from being damaged.

According to the hooking device 30 of this embodiment 1, the abutment surface 42 of the abutting rib 41 against which the hooking claw 36 abuts extends toward the back side of the hooked portion 15 in the direction toward the hooked surface 16 of the hooked portion 15. As a result, the hooking claw 36 is tilted to a position with a larger angle difference from the position for the normal amount of hooking as the hooking claw 36 hooks to the hooked portion 15 to an extent greater than the normal amount of hooking. The greater the degree of inclination of the hooking claw 36, the smaller the load in the direction of opening the lid 20 that is required to release the hooking claw 36. The degree of inclination of the hooking claw 36 can be adjusted by the angle of the abutment surface 42 relative to the hooked surface 16. Therefore, depending on the design of the angle of the abutment surface 42 relative to the hooked surface 16, if the amount of engagement of the hooking claw 36 becomes greater than the normal amount of engagement, the hooking claw 36 in the semi-released state can appropriately prevent the lid 20 from opening, regardless of the difference from the normal amount of engagement.

The console box 1 of this embodiment 1 can prevent damage to the hooking device 30 even if an excessive load is applied to the lid 20 in the opening direction when the hooking amount of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 becomes larger than the normal hooking amount.

Second Embodiment
The hanging device 30 according to the second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the component on which the contact rib 41 is provided. In the second embodiment, the hanging device 30 and the console box 1 are configured similarly to the first embodiment, except for the component on which the contact rib 41 is provided. Figure 6 illustrates a schematic configuration of the hanging device 30 according to the second embodiment.

As shown in FIG. 6, in the hooking device 30 of this embodiment 2, multiple abutment ribs 41 (only one is shown in FIG. 6) are provided on the hooking claw 36. Although not shown, the multiple abutment ribs 41 are arranged at intervals from each other in the left-right direction. Each abutment rib 41 is a small plate-like object that is triangular in side view with its plate surface facing left-right. Each abutment rib 41 is located on the claw base side of the hooking surface 39 of the hooking claw 36 that hooks onto the hooked portion 15 with the correct amount of hooking, and is formed integrally with the arm 37 and claw portion 38 of the hooking claw 36.

7 illustrates an example of the state in which the hook claw 36 is at its maximum hooking amount in the hooking device 30 of this embodiment 2. As shown in FIG. 7, when the hook claw 36 is hooked to the hooked portion 15 by a larger amount than the normal hooking amount, each abutment rib 41 abuts against the hooked portion 15 when the hook claw 36 is in the locked position. This causes the hook claw 36 to be partially released from the hooked portion 15. Each abutment rib 41 has an abutment surface 42 against which the hook claw 36 abuts when the hook claw 36 is in the partially released state. The abutment surface 42 is inclined with respect to the extension direction of the arm 37 and the protruding direction of the claw portion 38, and is a flat inclined surface that faces from the back side of the lid 20 to the rear front side when the hook claw 36 is in the locked position. The abutment surface 42 extends toward the claw base side of the hook claw 36 in the direction in which the hook surface 39 faces.

When the hook 36 abuts against such an abutment surface 42, the latch member 33 tilts toward the release position relative to the position in which the hook 36 is normally hooked. The greater the hook amount of the hook 36 on the hooked portion 15 compared to the normal hook amount, the greater the angle difference between the latch member 33's position at this time and the position in which the hook 36 is normally hooked. When the hook 36 is partially released from the hooked portion 15 and the lid 20 is pulled up without releasing the locked state, the latch member 33 swings so that the hook 36 is displaced toward the release position. This releases the hook 36 from the hooked portion 15, allowing the lid 20 to be opened.

-Features of the second embodiment-
According to the hooking device 30 of the second embodiment, when the hooking amount of the hooking claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is larger than the normal hooking amount, the abutment rib 41 provided on the hooking claw 36 abuts against the hooked portion 15, causing the hooking claw 36 to enter a semi-released state. In the semi-released state, when an excessive load is applied to the lid 20 in the opening direction, the hooking claw 36 is likely to be released from the hooked portion 15. This makes it possible to prevent the hooking device 30 from being damaged.

According to the hooking device 30 of this second embodiment, the abutment surface 42 of the abutting rib 41 against which the hooked portion 15 abuts extends toward the base of the hooking claw 36 in the direction facing the hooking surface 39. As a result, the hooking claw 36 is tilted to a position with a larger angle difference from the position for the normal amount of engagement as the amount of engagement of the hooking claw 36 with respect to the hooked portion 15 becomes larger than the normal amount of engagement. The greater the degree of inclination of the hooking claw 36, the smaller the load in the direction of opening the lid 20 that is required to release the hooking of the hooking claw 36. The degree of inclination of the hooking claw 36 can be adjusted by the angle of the abutment surface 42 with respect to the hooking surface 39. Therefore, depending on the design of the angle of the abutment surface 42 relative to the hook surface 39, if the amount of engagement of the hook claw 36 becomes greater than the normal amount of engagement, the hook claw 36 in the semi-released state can appropriately prevent the lid 20 from opening, regardless of the difference from the normal amount of engagement.

<<Variation>>
Fig. 8 shows the main part of the hooking device 30 of this modified example. As shown in Fig. 8, the shape of the abutment surface 42 of each abutment rib 41 may be curved. A concave cutout portion 43 is formed in each abutment rib 41 from the middle in the front-rear direction to the rear side. The portion of each abutment rib 41 where the cutout portion 43 is formed includes a portion whose height in the up-down direction is approximately constant. When such a cutout portion 43 is formed in the abutment rib 41, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of sink marks on the surface of the hooked portion 15. The abutment rib 41 where the cutout portion 43 is formed can also be adopted in the hooking device 30 of the above-mentioned embodiment 2.

In the above embodiment, the case where multiple abutment ribs 41 are provided as the abutment portion has been described as an example, but this is not limited thereto. There may be only one abutment rib 41. The abutment rib 41 is merely one example of the abutment portion, and any other abutment portion of any shape, such as a block-shaped object, may be provided on the hooked portion 15 or the hooked claw 36 as long as it can semi-release the hooking of the hooked claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 in the locked position when the hooking amount of the hooked claw 36 on the hooked portion 15 is greater than the normal hooking amount.

As described above, a preferred embodiment has been described as an example of the technology of the present disclosure.
