Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to men's underwear.

Trunks-type and boxer-type men's underwear have been known for some time. This type of men's underwear has fabric that extends up to the thighs, which can reduce stuffiness between the thighs and discomfort caused by chafing. However, because conventional men's underwear is not designed to hold the male genitalia, there is a risk that the scrotum and the skin in the groin will come into close contact with each other, causing stuffiness and discomfort.

To solve these problems, technology has been developed that uses mesh fabric and relies on natural ventilation to ensure a dry state. For example, the men's underwear in Patent Document 1 has an opening in the lower center of the front body, and is formed by sewing both sides and the bottom edge of a covering cloth made of stretchy mesh fabric in a roughly inverted triangle shape to both sides and the bottom edge of the front body so as to cover the front of the opening. This configuration is said to provide good ventilation in the lower front part of the front body, making it less likely to become stuffy, and also convenient for urination.

However, conventional men's underwear, including that of Patent Document 1 mentioned above, does not completely isolate the male genitalia from the skin around it. Therefore, there are problems such as sweating, stuffiness, and the resulting discomfort and friction between the male genitalia and the skin around it, which are caused by environmental factors such as high temperature and high humidity, physical factors such as obesity, exercise factors such as walking, and postural factors while stationary, such as sitting for long periods of time, lying on one's back, or standing.

Therefore, the present invention was developed in consideration of the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide men's underwear that solves the above-mentioned problems by isolating the male genitalia from the surrounding skin.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned objective, the men's underwear of the present invention comprises a back body corresponding to the buttocks, a front body corresponding to the lower abdomen, a covering part that covers the male genitalia, and left and right contact parts that are arranged on the left and right of the covering part and extend from the lower abdomen along the groin toward the crotch and fit closely, the left and right contact parts being made of a fabric that is less stretchy than the back body, the front body, and the covering part, and the left and right contact parts are made of a double layer of a fabric with less stretchability and a fabric with a cooling effect that is at least partially accordion-shaped.

Furthermore, another form of male underwear according to the present invention comprises a back body corresponding to the buttocks, a front body corresponding to the lower abdomen, a covering part that covers the male genitalia, and left and right contact parts that are arranged on the left and right of the covering part and extend from the lower abdomen along the groin toward the crotch and fit closely to the body, the left and right contact parts being made of a fabric that is less stretchy than the back body, the front body, and the covering part, and the left and right contact parts are only partially sewn to the front body and/or the covering parts arranged on the left and right.

In this way, the men's underwear of the present invention comprises a back body, a front body, a covering portion, and left and right contact portions, the left and right contact portions being made of a fabric with less elasticity than the back body, the front body, and the covering portion, and the left and right contact portions being made of a double layer of a fabric with less elasticity and a fabric with a cooling effect, at least a portion of which is accordion-shaped. With this configuration, by directly or indirectly contacting the fabric with a cooling effect of the left and right contact portions, sweating, stuffiness, and the discomfort caused by these can be suppressed.

In addition, another form of men's underwear according to the present invention comprises a back body, a front body, a covering portion, and left and right contact portions, the left and right contact portions being made of fabric with less elasticity than the back body, the front body, and the covering portion, and the left and right contact portions are only partially sewn to the front body and/or covering portion located on the left and right. With this configuration, ventilation is possible through the unsewn portions (gaps), so sweating, stuffiness, and the discomfort caused by these can be suppressed. In addition, the presence of the unsewn portions can reduce the effect of the contact portions being pulled by the fabric of the front body and covering portion located on the left and right, so the adhesion to the groin area is increased, the isolation effect is improved, and discomfort can be suppressed.

The following describes embodiments of the present invention with reference to the drawings. However, the components described in the following examples are merely examples and are not intended to limit the technical scope of the present invention.

First, in this embodiment, using Figures 1 to 4, a description will be given of a male underwear 1 equipped with tight-fitting parts (14, 15) that do not use a cooling material. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the male underwear 1 of this embodiment is a so-called boxer brief (boxer shorts), but the present invention is also applicable to other types of male underwear (for example, briefs, midway briefs, etc.). This male underwear 1 is mainly composed of male genitalia surrounding parts 14, 15, 16 that use a material that exerts strong pressure or tightens, and other parts 11-13, 17-19.

More specifically, the men's undergarment 1 comprises a back body part 19 that covers the buttocks, a right front body part 12 and a left front body part 13 that serve as front body parts that cover the lower abdomen, a covering part 17 that covers the male genitalia, a right adhesion part 14 and a left adhesion part 15 that are disposed on the left and right of the covering part 17 and come into close contact with the groin area (the base of the thighs), a push-up part 16, and a crotch gusset body part 18.

The right and left contact parts 14 and 15 around the male genitalia, as well as the push-up part 16, are made of fabric that has less elasticity and therefore provides stronger compression and tightness than the surrounding parts, the front body parts 12 and 13, the covering part 17, the crotch gusset body part 18, and the back body part 19.

The left and right contact parts 14, 15 extend from the lower abdomen to the crotch along the groin area. The push-up part 16 is located in the crotch area (the area corresponding to the lower part of the male genitalia).

Near the center of the front, the push-up portion 16 is formed into a cylindrical shape and is positioned horizontally so that it opens in the left and right directions. Then, the left and right ends of the push-up portion 16 are sewn to the inside parts of the adhesion portions 14, 15. Furthermore, the left and right outer parts of the covering portion 17 are sewn to the inside parts of the adhesion portions 14, 15, the bottom end of the covering portion 17 is sewn to the top end of the push-up portion 16, the top end of the crotch gusset body 18 is sewn to the bottom ends of the adhesion portions 14, 15, and the bottom end of the push-up portion 16.

In addition, on the front, the lower end of the waist rubber 11 is sewn to the upper ends of the left and right front body parts 12, 13, the left and right adhesion parts 14, 15, and the upper end of the covering part 17. The inside parts of the left and right front body parts 12, 13 are sewn to the outside parts of the left and right adhesion parts 14, 15. Furthermore, the inside lower parts of the left and right front body parts 12, 13 are sewn to the left and right outside parts of the crotch gusset body part 18.

At the back, the bottom end of the waistband 11 is sewn to the top end of the back body 19, and the bottom end of the back body 19 is sewn to the top end and both outer ends of the crotch gusset body 18.

On the left and right sides, the rear body 19 and the front body parts 12 and 13 are sewn together at their respective outer parts.

Therefore, the male genitalia is automatically pushed forward by the pressure from the left and right of the contact parts 14, 15, which are made of a material with high pressure and a high tightening effect, and by the pressure from below of the push-up part 16, which is made of a material with low elasticity and therefore high pressure and a high tightening effect, the entire male genitalia is covered by the covering part 17, creating a shape that isolates the male genitalia from the skin around the male genitalia.

And in the men's underwear 1 of this embodiment, the left and right contact portions 14, 15 are made of a fabric that has a high compression and high tightening effect, as well as a cooling effect. Here, the fabric that has a cooling effect is what is known as a "contact cooling material," and refers to a fabric that feels cool to the touch.

Among chemical fibers, rayon and cupra are known to have excellent cooling properties when it comes to materials that feel cool to the touch. Specifically, as for the fabric (material), a core-sheath composite fiber is known, which uses polyester for the core and EVAL (a composite resin of polyethylene resin and polyvinyl alcohol resin) for the sheath.

Furthermore, the left and right contact portions 14, 15 of this embodiment can be double-layered with an outer fabric 141 with low elasticity and an inner fabric 142 with a cooling effect, as shown in FIG. 3. However, as described later, the opposite can also be used, with the outer fabric having a cooling effect and the inner fabric having low elasticity.

That is, when the fabric 142 with the cooling effect has poor elasticity, elasticity is ensured by forming it into an accordion shape. The shape of the inner fabric 142 may be a wavy shape, a zigzag shape, or a folded shape in addition to the accordion shape shown in the figure. In other words, any shape is included as long as there is a certain amount of slack in the direction in which the fabric stretches.

In addition, it is also preferable that the covering portion 17 is made of a fabric that is more absorbent and quick-drying than the back body portion 19, the front body portions 12 and 13, and the close-fitting portions 14 and 15.

Next, the effects achieved by male undergarment 1 of the present embodiment will be listed and explained.

(1) As described above, the male underwear 1 of this embodiment comprises a back body 19 that covers the buttocks, front body parts 12, 13 that cover the lower abdomen, a covering part 17 that covers the male genitalia, and left and right adhesion parts 14, 15 that are arranged on the left and right of covering part 17 and adhere closely to the groin area, and the left and right adhesion parts 14, 15 are made of a fabric that has less elasticity than the back body 19, front body parts 12, 13, and covering part 17, thereby providing stronger pressure and tightness. With this configuration, as shown in Figure 4, the male genitalia is isolated from the skin around it, eliminating sweating, stuffiness, and the discomfort caused by these, as well as rubbing between the male genitalia and the skin around it.

(2) Furthermore, the left and right contact portions 14, 15 are made of a fabric that has a cooling effect. In this way, by placing a fabric that has little elasticity and therefore strong pressure and tightness in the contact portions 14, 15, the contact portions 14, 15 made of fabric with a cooling effect will fit closely to the groin area, resulting in an extremely high level of comfort due to the cooling sensation. In other words, rather than simply placing a fabric with a cooling effect, by applying a fabric with a cooling effect to the contact portions 14, 15 that fit closely to the groin area due to their small elasticity and therefore strong pressure and tightness, the fabric with a cooling effect will fit closely to the groin area over a reliably wide area, thereby efficiently cooling the entire body.

(3) Furthermore, it is preferable that the left and right contact parts 14 (15) are composed of an outer fabric 141 with low elasticity and an inner fabric 142 with an accordion-shaped cooling effect. In this way, by making the contact parts 14 (15) of a double structure, it is possible to simultaneously achieve two advantages: elasticity (adhesion) and comfort due to the cooling effect. In particular, it is effective to use a double structure when the fabric with the cooling effect has poor elasticity.

(4) Furthermore, the covering part 17 is made of a fabric that is more absorbent and quick-drying than the back body part 19, the front body parts 12 and 13, and the fitting parts 14 and 15, so it is highly effective in preventing urinary leakage and residual urine. In this case, the male genitalia is contained within the covering part 17, making it less likely for urine to leak into the surrounding area, making it even more effective.

Below, using Figures 5 and 6, a male undergarment 1A having close-fitting portions 24, 25 in a form different from that of Example 1 will be described. Note that the same reference numerals will be used to describe parts that are the same or equivalent to those described in Example 1.

First, to explain the configuration, as shown in Figure 5, men's undergarment 1A of Example 2 has a configuration generally similar to that of men's undergarment 1 of Example 1. That is, men's undergarment 1A of the present embodiment has a back body portion 19 that covers the buttocks, right front body portion 12 and left front body portion 13 as front body portions that cover the lower abdomen, covering portion 17 that covers the male genitalia, right and left contact portions 24 and 25 that are disposed on the left and right of covering portion 17 and come into close contact with the groin area, push-up portion 16, and crotch gusset body portion 18.

The men's undergarment 1A of this embodiment differs significantly from that of the first embodiment in that cooling material 30 is contained in the left and right contact portions 24, 25. For example, the right contact portion 24 (as well as the left contact portion 25) is composed of double layers of fabric 241, 242 that form a cylindrical portion, and cooling agent 30 that is contained inside the cylindrical portion.

That is, the right adhesion portion 24 is made up of a double layer of an elongated outer fabric 241 and an inner fabric 242 of the same elongated shape, and is formed into a cylindrical shape by sewing together both side edges. Similarly, the left adhesion portion 25 is made up of a double layer of an elongated outer fabric 251 and an inner fabric 252 of the same elongated shape, and is formed into a cylindrical shape by sewing together both side edges.

The cylindrical parts 241, 242 and 251, 252 of the left and right contact parts 24, 25 have openings 243, 253 at the top because the upper parts are not sewn when worn. The coolant 30 can be stored and replaced through these openings 243, 253. Therefore, by preparing multiple bottles of coolant 30 in advance by cooling them in a refrigerator or the like, the groin area can be continuously cooled for a long period of time with the coolant 30 at a constant temperature.

The coolant 30 is formed in a long, thin rod shape, making it easy to store in the storage unit. A commercially available coolant 30 can be used, which is made of water and a highly absorbent polymer and is stored in a polyethylene bag. Of course, a dedicated coolant 30 that is sized to fit easily in the storage unit can also be used.

Next, the effects achieved by men's undergarment 1A of the present embodiment will be listed and explained.

(1) As described above, the male undergarment 1A of this embodiment comprises a back body 19 that covers the buttocks, front body parts 12, 13 that cover the lower abdomen, a covering part 17 that covers the male genitalia, and left and right adhesion parts 24, 25 that are arranged on the left and right of covering part 17 and adhere closely to the groin area, and the left and right adhesion parts 24, 25 are similar to Example 1 in that they are made of a fabric that has less elasticity than the back body 19, front body parts 12, 13, and covering part 17, thereby providing stronger pressure and tightness. (2) The left and right contact parts 24 (25) are composed of double layers of fabric 241, 242 (251, 252) constituting a cylindrical part, and coolant 30 contained inside the cylindrical part. With this configuration, the coolant 30, which has been cooled in a refrigerator or the like beforehand, can be stored in the storage part, and the groin area can be cooled by the coolant 30. In other words, by cooling the groin area (the base of the thighs) with the low-temperature coolant 30, the blood vessels (arteries and veins) can be cooled, and the entire body can be cooled efficiently.

(3) Furthermore, it is preferable that the double layer of fabric 241, 242 (251, 252) constituting the tubular portion of the left and right contact portions 24, 25 has an opening 243 (253) at the top when worn, and that the coolant 30 can be replaced through the opening 243 (253). With this configuration, the coolant 30 can be replaced through the opening 243 (253), so by preparing multiple bottles of coolant 30 in advance, the groin area - and ultimately the entire body - can be kept cool for a long period of time.

The rest of the configuration and effects are similar to those of Example 1, so a description will be omitted.

Below, using Figures 7 and 8, a male undergarment 1B having tight-fitting portions 34, 35 in a form different from that of Examples 1 and 2 will be described. Note that the same reference numerals will be used to describe parts that are the same or equivalent to those described in Examples 1 and 2.

Substantially similar to Examples 1 and 2, male undergarment 1B comprises back body 19 covering the buttocks, right front body 12 and left front body 13 as front body parts covering the lower abdomen, covering portion 17 covering the male genitalia, right and left adhering portions 34 and 35 disposed on the left and right of covering portion 17 and adapted to fit closely against the groin area (the base of the thighs), push-up portion 16, and crotch gusset body portion 18.

The right and left contact portions 34 and 35 around the male genitalia of the men's undergarment 1B of this embodiment are formed from a fabric with less stretchability than the surrounding areas, the front body portions 12, 13, the covering portion 17, the crotch gusset body portion 18, and the back body portion 19, just like in the first embodiment.

Furthermore, the left and right contact parts 34, 35 in this embodiment are double-layered, consisting of low-stretch fabric 341, 351 and fabric 342, 352 with a cooling effect, at least a portion of which is accordion-shaped. Note that "at least a portion is accordion-shaped" not only includes an embodiment in which the entirety is accordion-shaped, but also an embodiment in which only a small portion is accordion-shaped.

Here, the two-layered contact parts 34, 35 may be configured as shown in FIG. 8(a) with the inner side being made of a less stretchy fabric 341 (351) and the outer side being made of a fabric with a cooling effect 342 (352), or conversely, as shown in FIG. 8(b), with the outer side being made of a less stretchy fabric 341 (351) and the inner side being made of a fabric with a cooling effect 342 (352).

Next, the effects achieved by men's undergarment 1B of the present embodiment will be described.

(1) As described above, the male undergarment 1B of this embodiment comprises a back body 19 corresponding to the buttocks, front body parts 12, 13 corresponding to the lower abdomen, a covering part 17 covering the male genitalia, and left and right contact parts 34, 35 arranged on the left and right of covering part 17 and extending from the lower abdomen along the groin toward the crotch, the left and right contact parts 34, 35 being made of a fabric with less elasticity than the back body 19, front body parts 12, 13, and covering part 17, and the left and right contact parts 34, 35 are made of a double layer of fabric 341 with less elasticity and fabric 342 with a cooling effect, at least a portion of which is accordion-shaped. The right and left contact portions 44 and 45 around the male genitalia of the male undergarment 1C of this embodiment are formed from a fabric with less stretchability than the surrounding areas, the front body portions 12, 13, the covering portion 17, the crotch gusset body portion 18, and the back body portion 19, just like in the first embodiment.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the left and right contact portions 44, 45 are only partially sewn to the front body portions 12, 13 and/or the covering portion 17 arranged on the left and right, as shown in FIG. 9. In other words, the left and right contact portions 44, 45 have portions (ovals surrounded by white dotted lines in the figure) that are not sewn to the surrounding members, and these portions form gaps. This of course includes cases where only portions of the left and right contact portions 44, 45 meet with the front body portions 12, 13, and where only portions of the covering portion 17 meet with the left and right contact portions 44, 45, but also includes cases where only a portion of either one of them meets.

More specifically, there is at least a portion that is not sewn between the covering portion 17 and the contact portion 44 (45) and/or between the contact portion 44 (45) and the front body 12 (13), and this portion forms a gap through which breathability can be maintained inside and outside the underwear. It goes without saying that the unsewn portion may be continuous in one place, but may also be dispersed (discrete) in several places.

Next, the effects achieved by men's undergarment 1C of the present embodiment will be described.

In addition, the presence of unstitched sections reduces the effect of the tight-fitting sections 44, 45 being pulled by the fabric of the front body sections 12, 13 and the covering section 17 arranged on the left and right, increasing the adhesion to the groin area, improving the isolation effect and reducing discomfort.

The above describes an embodiment of the present invention in detail with reference to the drawings, but the specific configuration is not limited to this embodiment, and design changes that do not deviate from the gist of the present invention are included in the present invention.

For example, in the embodiment, a case in which the crotch gusset body 18 is provided is described, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention can be provided even in a case in which the crotch gusset body 18 is not provided.

In addition, in the embodiment, the back and front pieces are sewn together on the left and right sides, but this is not limited to this and other configurations - for example, sewing around the cleft at the back of the buttocks instead of on the left and right - can also be used.
