Description

The present invention relates to clothing with removable flaps.

In clothing, flaps (pocket rain covers) are provided to prevent rain, dust, etc. from getting inside the pocket. In recent years, flaps made of a variety of colors, shapes, and materials have been provided, and they are known to have the effect of enhancing the design and aesthetic appeal of clothing. Furthermore, flaps are generally sewn near the opening of the pocket and cannot be removed.

For this reason, when changing the design of a flap in conventional clothing, it is necessary to change the entire garment including the flap, or to re-sew a different flap. However, one way to change the design of a flap without having to take such measures is to make flaps with different designs removable.

As a conventional technique for detachable flaps, Patent Document 1 proposes a structure in which flaps (pocket lids) on clothing can be freely attached and detached using press buttons.

However, the pocket lid attachment/detachment device disclosed in Patent Document 1 fixes the flap directly to the garment body, and when the flap is removed, the button, which is the connector, is exposed. Furthermore, since the pocket lid attachment/detachment device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is an inner pocket of a jacket, even if the button is exposed when the flap is removed, it does not mar the appearance of the jacket. However, if it is applied to, for example, an outer pocket or side pocket of a jacket, or a back pocket of pants, it will affect the aesthetics of these garments. This is because clothing using the pocket lid attachment/detachment device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is not designed to be worn with the flap removed. Furthermore, even when the flap is attached, the flap looks too attached and mars the aesthetics of the garment.

In addition, clothing such as jackets and pants may have welded edges at the openings of their pockets. Clothing with welded edges looks good and gives the impression of luxury, but if the pocket lid attachment/detachment device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is applied to such clothing, the welts will be covered by the flaps, compromising the aesthetic appeal of the clothing.

The garment with detachable flaps of the present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and provides a garment with detachable flaps that, while still having the same appearance as conventional garments with sewn flaps, both when the flaps are attached and when they are detached, without compromising the design.

As a result of these studies, we developed a garment that is characterized by having a garment body with a pocket, a flap that is provided at the opening of the pocket, and a connector that fixes the connecting piece at the top of the flap inside the pocket, and by providing the connector inside the pocket, the flap can be freely attached and detached.

In the above garment, the pocket has a space inside the body above the upper edge of the opening that can accommodate part of the flap, and it is preferable that a connector provided in the space fastens the back surface of the body inside the pocket to the connecting piece at the top of the flap.

In addition, in the above-mentioned garment, the flap has a connecting piece at the upper part that is bent toward the lining, and when the connecting piece is inserted into the pocket through the opening of the pocket, it is preferable that the connecting piece of the flap is fixed by a connecting device provided on the back surface of the pocket.

The clothing of the present invention allows the flap to be attached and detached freely without exposing the connector by having the connector function inside the pocket. Therefore, it is possible to provide the same appearance as conventional clothing with the flap attached and detached.

The present invention realizes detachable flaps without compromising the aesthetics of the garment. Therefore, even if the garment itself is the same, the design of the garment can be changed by replacing the flaps. For example, when the present invention is applied to a uniform, flaps of different colors, shapes, materials, etc. can be attached to the garment itself, making it possible to distinguish the wearer's affiliation, position, etc. by the difference in flap design, even though the uniform itself has the same design. Furthermore, when the present invention is applied to a garment with welt processing at the pocket opening, the upper welt is not covered by the flap, making it possible to realize detachable flaps without compromising the luxurious pocket design.

The embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Below, the appearance of the garment to which the present invention is applied and two embodiments (first embodiment and second embodiment) will be given as examples to explain the garment of the present invention.

1. Appearance of a garment to which the present invention is applied The appearance of a garment to which the present invention is applied will be described. Fig. 1 is a front view showing an example of a garment to which the present invention is applied, which is a jacket. Fig. 2 is a front view showing the garment of this example with the flap removed.

The garment of the present invention comprises a garment body with a pocket, a flap provided at the opening of the pocket, and a connector that secures the inside of the pocket to the flap. As shown in FIG. 1, the garment of this example comprises a garment body 10 with a pocket and a flap 30 provided at the opening 20 of the pocket (not shown), which are visible from the outside, while the connector 50 (not shown) is not visible from the outside. As shown in FIG. 2, the connector 50 in the garment of this example is not visible from the outside, even when the detachable flap 30 is removed.

In this example, the garment body 10 is a jacket, but the garment body to which the present invention is applied can be of any type, such as a jacket, a vest, or pants. In addition, the flap 30 attached to the garment in this example can be attached to and detached from other garments to which the present invention is applied, and the flap 30 can be interchanged between the garment in this example and other garments.

2. Garment of the First Embodiment The garment of the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 3 is a front view showing the flap 30 in the garment of this embodiment. Fig. 4 is a rear view showing the flap 30 in the garment of this embodiment. Fig. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view of this embodiment taken along line A-A in Fig. 1.

The garment of the first embodiment has a detachable flap 30, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. The flap 30 is generally rectangular, and is provided with a connection part 33 for enabling a connection device 50 provided on the garment body to function. In this embodiment, the connection device 50 is a button, so the connection part 33 of the flap 30 is configured with a buttonhole. The flap 30 is also composed of a connection piece 35 fixed to a space 71 capable of accommodating a part of the flap, and a flap forming cloth 36 visible from outside the pocket, but in this example, the flap forming cloth 36 is extended to the connection piece 35 and is formed integrally.

The garment of the first embodiment has a structure shown in FIG. 5. The pocket opening 20 is made up of the front body 61, 62 and the welts 63, 64, and the pocket internal space 72 is further made up of the pocket forming cloth 65 and the cloth bag 66. The pocket 40 has a space 71 inside that can accommodate a part of the flap above the upper edge of the opening 20. The flap 30 has its connecting piece 35 inserted into the space 71 that can accommodate a part of the flap, and is attached and detached by the connector 50 provided in this space. In this embodiment, the flap 30 is made up of two layers of material (outer fabric and lining). Also, in the garment of this embodiment, the connector 50 is provided at the welt 63, but the body in the present invention includes a member configured to overlap the welt or the body.

In the garment of the first embodiment, the connector 50 is configured to connect the inside of the pocket to the flap 30 within a space 71 that can accommodate a portion of the flap. This makes it impossible to see the connector 50 from the outside. Also, in this embodiment, the welt 63 is not covered by the flap 30 and can be seen from the outside.

The garment of the first embodiment has a space 71 capable of accommodating a portion of the flap, so the pocket interior space 72 is vertically wider than in conventional garments. This makes it possible to accommodate an object, such as a smartphone, that has a size or shape that would be difficult to accommodate in a conventional garment pocket.

3. Garment of the Second Embodiment Garment of the second embodiment will be described. Fig. 6 is a front perspective view showing the flap 30 in the garment of this embodiment. Fig. 7 is a rear perspective view showing the flap 30 in the garment of this embodiment. Fig. 8 is a schematic side view showing the flap 30 in the garment of the second embodiment. Fig. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view of this embodiment taken along line A-A in Fig. 1.

The garment of the second embodiment has a detachable flap 30, as shown in Figures 6 and 7. The flap 30 has a bent shape with a bent portion 34, and is provided with a connecting portion 33 for enabling the connector 50 (see Figure 9) to function. In this embodiment, the connector 50 is a button, so the connecting portion 33 is configured with a buttonhole. The flap 30 is also composed of a connecting piece 35 that is inserted into the pocket internal space 72, and a flap forming cloth 36 that is visible from outside the pocket, with the bent portion 34 as the boundary.

In the second embodiment of the garment, the flap 30 is composed of a connecting piece 35 and a flap-forming cloth 36, as shown in FIG. 8. The connecting piece 35 is a thinner member than the flap-forming cloth 36. FIG. 8(a) shows a configuration in which the connecting piece 35 and the flap-forming cloth 36 are connected on the bent portion 34, FIG. 8(b) shows a configuration in which the connecting piece 35 and the flap-forming cloth 36 are overlapped, and FIG. 8(c) shows a configuration in which the connecting piece 35 is sandwiched by the flap-forming cloth 36. With this configuration, the restoring force of the bent portion 34 of the folded flap 30 can be suppressed. This reduces the impact on the aesthetics of the garment caused by the change in the bending angle of the bent portion 34 when the flap 30 is attached.

The garment of the second embodiment has a structure shown in FIG. 9. The pocket opening 20 is formed by the front body parts 61, 62 and the welts 63, 64, and the pocket interior space 72 is further formed by the pocket forming cloth 65 and the cloth bag 66. The flap 30, which has a bent shape, is attached and detached by inserting the connecting piece 35 into the pocket interior space 72 and using the connecting device 50 provided in the pocket interior space 72. In this embodiment, the flap 30 is formed of two layers of material (outer fabric and lining fabric).

In the second embodiment of the garment, the connector 50 is configured to connect the inside of the pocket to the flap 30 within the pocket internal space 72. This makes it impossible to see the connector 50 from the outside. In this embodiment, the welt 63 is not covered by the flap 30 and can be seen from the outside.

In the second embodiment of the garment, the pocket opening 20 is not covered by the flap 30. This makes it possible to put things in and take things out of the pocket 40 when the flap 30 is attached, without opening or closing the flap 30, just as when the flap 30 is removed.

4. Garments of the First and Second Embodiments In the garments of the first and second embodiments, the buttonholes of the connection parts 33 are elongated in the horizontal direction. By making the buttonholes of the connection parts 33 have such shapes, it is possible to ensure the left and right range of movement of the flap 30 when the flap 30 is attached. Since the left and right range of movement of the flap 30 is ensured, even if the design, processing, etc. of the connection parts 33 and the connector 50 are not accurate when the flap 30 is attached, it is possible to prevent wrinkles from occurring inside the flap 30 or the pocket. In addition, this eliminates the need for high precision in the design, processing, etc. of the buttonholes of the connection parts 33 and the size and arrangement of the buttons of the connector 50 when manufacturing the garment.

In the garments of the first and second embodiments, the connector 50 is a button, but the connector to which the present invention is applicable may be of any type, such as a button, hook, snap, wire fastener, or hook-and-loop fastener. The connector may be provided inside the pocket or directly on the flap 30, or may be a member independent of the pocket and the flap 30.

In the garments of the first and second embodiments, the front surface 31 and back surface 32 of the flap 30 have different designs. Usually, the flap 30 is attached with the front surface 31 facing outward, but the flap 30 can also be attached with the back surface 32 facing outward. Also, the flap 30 attached to the right side of the garment can be replaced with the left side of the garment, and the flap 30 attached to the left side of the garment can be replaced with the right side of the garment. This allows the garment to be changed to multiple designs by attaching and detaching one type of flap.

In the garments of the first and second embodiments, the back surface 32 of the flap 30 may be made of a material having a cleaning function. Since the flap 30 is detachable, the flap 30 removed from the garment can be used as a cleaning tool such as a cleaning cloth or hand towel. In addition, the front surface 31 or back surface 32 or both surfaces of the flap may have a cleaning function.
